For those who don't know about Filey Lions Club, we are part of a world wide charitable organisation, Lions International. Our main aim is to serve our community and one of the ways we do this, is by arranging events to raise funds. One of our yearly events is our 10k beach run. It's a one of a kind event, very different to road, track or fell running as it is done entirely on Filey Beach. Registration and booking in will take place on the decking at Filey Sailing Club and the race will start at 10am on Filey beach, below Filey Sailing Club. Following the marked route, runners will head south along the beach to Hunmanby Gap, turn at the marked half way point and return to the finish line on the beach, below Filey Sailing Club. This race is registered with runbritain.com and entrants must be 16yr or over. Parking is available (fee payable) at Filey Brigg Country Park. There are race souvenirs for all finishers! The popular Trackrod Rally Yorkshire, features vehicles from right across the spectrum. With racing taking place in Dalby Forest. The competitive element of the rally takes place on closed forestry commission roads, mostly within the Dalby and Langdale complexes. During the three previous Filey-based stagings, the event has attracted, on average, around 130 crews who are mostly from the UK but also from Europe and even further a field! The rally has a very high reputation among competitors and can proudly reflect on winning the “best event” award on 2018 BTRDA Rally Championship. There will be a ceremonial start held in Filey. Giving you chance to wave the crews off, before they head into the forests. More information on the 2025 Trackrod Rally to follow.
