Florence Nightingale's 205th Birthday Celebration
Join us for a special open day on International Nurses Day, Monday 12th May. The museum will be open from 10:00-20:00 with a special performance at 19:00. As it is Miss Nightingale's 205th birthday tickets are discounted all day and a bar will be available from 5pm selling alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
Meet Miss Nightingale- International Nurses Day Performance
On the eve of her 205th birthday and International Nurses Day- Join Miss Nightingale for a special performance as she recounts her life, including her work during the Crimean War and how she transformed Nursing to what it is today. Performances take place at 11:30, 1:30 and 3:30 and last approximately 30 minutes.
Collections Manager's Tours - International Nurses Day Weekend
In honour of International Nurses Day and Florence Nightingale's 205th Birthday the museum is hosting a full weekend of events and on Saturday 10th we will have special tours led by our incredible Collections Manager, Hannah. On these tours you will learn the story of Florence Nightingale through the objects we have on display in our museum. Hear the incredible histories attached to some of Hannah's favourite pieces and discover the remarkable life of the 'mother of modern nursing'. These special tours will also give greater insight into how the museum came to be and Hannah will be happy to answer any questions on how we continue to care for such an important collection today. These tours last approximately 30 minutes and are included in admission cost. Tours are at 12:00pm and 2:00pm
