The List

Fortune Theatre

The Fortune Theatre, now one of the oldest buildings in existence to have been designed with a concrete facade, was the first London theatre to be built after World War I. In WWII it was a venue for forces entertainment, but it's now chiefly famous as the home, since 1989, of the second-longest-running show in the West End, The Woman in Black. The theatre has limited wheelchair access and no dedicated spaces for wheelchair users. Guide dogs are not permitted in the auditorium because of loud noises in the show, but staff will look after them. The nearest Tube stations are Covent Garden (Piccadilly), Leicester Square (Northern/Piccadilly), Holborn (Central/Piccadilly) and Charing Cross (Bakerloo/Northern), which also has a surface rail station. The nearest bus stops are served by routes 24, 29 or 176.

Operation Mincemeat

26 May 2025 - 21 Nov 2026

Operation Mincemeat is the 2024 Olivier Award-winning Best New Musical. It’s London’s biggest hit with 77 Five-Star reviews making it the best-reviewed show in West End history. Now also a Tony-nominated Best Musical on Broadway! The year is 1943 and right now we’re losing the war. Luckily, we’re about to gamble all our futures on a stolen corpse. Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train, Operation Mincemeat is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II. Bursting at the seams with the kind of chaos you couldn’t invent, the question is: how did a dead body, a fake love letter, and – of all people – Ian Fleming come together to wrong-foot Hitler?
