Midsummer with the Masters

Midsummer with the Masters

20 Jun 2026 - 20 Jun 2026

Celebrate midsummer with the Huntingdonshire Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert of drama, brilliance, and joy. The programme features Mozarts thrilling Don Giovanni Overture, Beethovens monumental Symphony No. 3 (Eroica), and Mendelssohns much-loved Violin Concerto with soloist Izzy Howard. Renowned for its sparkling virtuosity, lyrical melodies, and infectious energy, Mendelssohn's violin concerto offers a perfect showcase for Izzys expressive playing and is one of the most joyous and beloved works in the violin repertoire. Together, these masterpieces promise an evening of breathtaking music for a midsummer night.
Chamber Orchestra St Ives Winter Concert
Northern Lights: Music of Legends and Romance The COSI Winter Concert celebrates the drama and beauty of Northern Europe, from the heroic sweep of Sibelius Finlandia to the lyrical charm of Sindings Rustle of Spring, the pageantry of Halvorsens Entry March of the Boyars, and the folk-inspired vitality of Griegs Symphonic Dances. The evenings centrepiece is Bruchs lyrical and romantic Violin Concerto in G minor, performed by Richard Roper, a long-standing pillar of Northamptonshires musical life through NMPAT, conductor of the Northamptonshire County Youth Orchestra, and a highly skilled violinist. We are honoured to accompany him in this timeless Romantic masterpiece.
