Goldie Lookin' Chain

Goldie Lookin' Chain

2 May 2025 - 20 Dec 2025

Coming straight out of Newport The GLC are officially Britain’s biggest rap group. Known for classics like “Guns don’t kill people rappers do”, The GLC started almost by accident around the turn of the century with Eggsy’s impromptu rap about his tracksuit over a serious piece of music Rhys was working on in the studio. Adam Hussain, Billy Webb, Mystkal, the Maggot, 2hats and Mike Balls convinced Rhys to record the rap. Fuelled by Lambrini, fags, Chicken Tikka Massala and weed they all took to the mic and The GLC’s first album “Don’t Blame the Chain” was born. And so it began, the journey which has so far seen The GLC rise to the top of the charts, perform around the world and at every major festival in the Western Hemisphere and make millions of people laugh along the way. Now many years since that first rap about Eggsy’s tracksuit, the boys are still keeping it real in the rap game and hold the title of the most successful UK rap act ever. To date The GLC have released 18 albums… and amazingly none of them have died yet. You knows it! GLC (Live) plus special guests

Laurence Jones

Laurence Jones

23 May 2025 - 7 Jun 2025

Although Laurence doesn’t need too much of an introduction in the music business, for those that haven’t had the chance to see him yet, it’s well worth sharing a thing or two about this artist! He sings, he plays and he writes -- a triple craft -- and he does so like a veteran twice his age, but absolutely no ego and with both feet firmly on the ground! Hailed as 'one to watch' as a teenager by the blues media, concert/festival bookers, blues fans and various guitar stars alike, young Laurence really has come of age. The blues cub has become a man with a plan, turning heads and making jaws drop with his take-no-prisoners, incendiary live set and stunning records. Laurence and his crack band -- Jones on vocals and guitars, Roger Inniss on bass and Phil Wilson on drums -- put the power into power trio, with their modern day blues rock with an edge.
Chris Helme

Chris Helme

6 Jun 2025 - 23 Nov 2025

25 years on from the release of The Seahorses’ seminal album Do It Yourself, acclaimed vocalist Chris Helme will revisit the iconic record with a series of one-off acoustic performances across the UK throughout 2022. Formed by Stone Roses’ guitarist John Squire, the English alternative rock band released their first and only album in 1997 to an outpouring of adoration from fans at home and around the world. The album reached number 1 and number 2 in the Scottish and UK album charts respectively, made the top 40 in countries including New Zealand and Sweden, and defined a moment in time for hundreds of thousands of people. The album’s success quickly led to a string of high-profile shows including tours with Oasis, U2 and The Rolling Stones and a spectacular performance at Glastonbury. The Seahorses were regular contributors to some of the most coveted Friday night TV slots going, with unforgettable appearances on Top of the Pops, Jools Holland and TFI Friday. It wasn’t long before Do It Yourself went platinum, selling 300,000 copies in the UK alone. The Seahorses never released another album and ever since Do It Yourself connected with the British public in the 90s, this debut record has continued to mean so much to so many. This year, Chris is set to take audiences back to 1997 and the era of Brit-pop classics as he performs the impactful album from start to finish, in a way rarely heard before. Watch as Chris lovingly brings the memorable album’s cherished tracks back to life, including Love is the Law – which reached number 3 in the UK and number 1 in the Scottish singles charts and has racked up more than 8.2 million streams on Spotify, and Love Me and Leave Me, which was Liam Gallagher's first ever songwriting credit. Chris, one of the finest singer-songwriters on the circuit today, has gone on to enjoy an established solo career. His “dreamy but driven indie folk” (Q Magazine) and blistering voice, which continues to stop audiences in their tracks, has garnered ongoing critical acclaim and he is readying a new solo album for release in 2023. Join Chris Helme as he marks the 25th anniversary of Do It Yourself with acoustic performances of this iconic album for the very first time at much-loved venues across the UK.

Lambrini Girls

Lambrini Girls

19 Nov 2025 - 1 Dec 2025

Lambrini Girls + Guests Lambrini Girls formed in the swamplands underneath Skegness Butlins, a scene filled with toxicity, a severe lack of accountability and not enough gravy. Flying the nest with a dream to curate slut vibes nationwide, they became the gayest band to ever win 50 consecutive Eurovision contests in a row. Due to their massive success, they now all share a planet near earth in order for them to raise their 150 babies collectively (the father of which, is Lillys pedalboard) however, they do still practice in Brighton so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Lambrini Girls hotspots e.g your local skip or police station. Inspiration drawn from the likes of Savages, Le Tigre, The Spice Girls and unresolved trauma; not only do Lambrini Girls plan on setting your bin on fire- they want to create spaces at shows for anyone who feels like there isn’t a place for them there already. This is a 16+ event.
Pygmy Twylyte Perform the Music of Frank Zappa
Pygmy Twylyte bring the music of Frank Zappa back to MacArts! So prolific was Frank Zappa's output, that it is nearly impossible to present a representative sample of his work in just one concert. Over the course of his life, and since his death in 1993, over one hundred official Zappa albums have been released, alongside countless bootlegs. These range from 60s psychedelia with the Mothers of Invention, Jazz and Rock material tinged with Zappa's own inimitable spin, through to orchestral compositions performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, among others. Navigating the vast Zappa oeuvre then is no mean feat, but Scotlands Pygmy Twylyte have embraced the challenge with gusto. Since their inception in 2018, the band have selected a core body of classic material, complemented with a rotating offering of more obscure cuts, and blasted this to delighted audiences across the UK.

Joshua Burnside

Joshua Burnside

22 Jul 2025 - 24 Jul 2025

Northern Irish experimental folk songwriter and producer Joshua Burnside is something of a regional anomaly. With a brooding, powerful sound echoing artists of places afar and time long gone, his enthralling craft defies local comparison in striving towards an aesthetic as much as visual as it is sonic. Balanced with a diverse palette of sounds, Burnside deftly blends alt-folk and elements of the Irish folk song tradition with South American rhythms and Eastern European influences, whilst introducing synthetic and found-sounds, synths loops and crunching beats to create a stormy world that shifts and swirls perspective like a lingering lucid dream.

Henry Priestman and The Men of a Certain Age
After over 40 years in the music business - and with a credit list longer than both your arms - in 2009 Henry Priestman (having not sung since 1981!!) reinvented himself as a singer-songwriter, and released his debut solo CD “The Chronicles of Modern Life” (on legendary Island Records) to critical acclaim. Never one to rush things, 5 years later, in Feb 2014 Proper Records released the eagerly awaited follow-up entitled “The Last Mad Surge of Youth”, which garnered Henry the best reviews he’s had in his many years of releasing albums. Both albums are the sound of a man who’s seen the music world explode from punk (his band Yachts supported the Sex Pistols in ’77, and The Who on European Tour in ‘79) via pop (three million albums with The Christians; a top five single for Mark Owen) through to the digital age (soundtracks for James Bond/Xbox, BBC’s Wildlife on One, Natural World), writing/production duties with the likes of singer/songwriters Amy Wadge, Lotte Mullan and 10cc’s Graham Gouldman (3 co-writes with Graham on his latest “Love and Work” album) and still has something worth singing about. So in this age of genre’s, niches and “tribes”, where does Henry fit in? Amazon.com seem to think he’s folk (“Chronicles…” topped the Amazon “Folk and World” charts on it’s release), Radio 2’s Johnnie Walker described Henry’s new direction as “music for grumpy old men”, The Daily Mail said he is “a master of the rueful observation”, the late Robert Sandall in The Sunday Times called it “rough hewn charm“, and elsewhere the phrase “post-punk-folk-protest” has been bandied about. Henry will be joined by his backing band The Men of a Certain Age (Les Glover, Pete Robinson & Dez Allenby) and will be featuring songs from throughout his 41 year music career: songs from his time with Yachts, hits he wrote for/with The Christians, songs from his two solo albums (and 2018 duo album with Les Glover), plus a new song or two. Not to be missed. Intimate all seated show, limited to 100 tickets.

Girls of the Internet

Girls of the Internet

8 May 2025 - 27 Sept 2025

Girls of the Internet’s manifesto is clear; to create dance music that calls back to how it was made at its inception, but with the knowledge and experience of the past 50 years of the genre. Joining the dots that have not been joined for a long time, the collective takes on people of all sexualities, gender expressions and body types. “We are very proud to bring this music back to its inclusive roots. Let’s forget the disjointed and cliquey scene we live in, and bring back what once united us.” Crafting songs with real musicians, the group’s name was inspired by Ladies of the 80’s by Eighties Ladies, the album from a girl group produced by Roy Ayers, “I just loved the whole concept, and I wanted to do the same thing with Girls of the Internet,” explains the group’s founding member Tom Kerridge. “I wanted a name that played with gender, and people’s subconscious misogyny. Girls of the Internet is abstract – it means nothing, and it means everything.”

Their fierce live performances and apperance in the Trash-Rock'n Roll movie Wild Zero caused a lot of attention all over the world.
Michael Robert Murphy

Michael Robert Murphy

20 Jun 2025 - 20 Jun 2025

Michael’s journey since going solo over the past year has been an intriguing organic trip, walking us through the many dimensions of his songwriting and quickly proving he is much more than the frontman and singer-songwriter of once Liverpool Psych Rockers The Wicked Whispers. After a lo-key debut EP drop (Featuring the highly contagious ‘Out Of Sight’) which stripped his songs down to the core, Michael then joined forces with pal & mutal fan James Skelly of The Coral (also producer of Blossoms / The Lathums) to produce his next singles. Recent single ‘Puzzles’, (First with Skelly) was certainly a step once more into psychedelia for Michael, with a modern & interesting twist. ‘Holding On’ still carries elements of this but nailed by its simplicity, one that only Michael’s songwriting and James’ penning of ‘Dreaming Of You’ & ‘In The Morning’ could conjure up. The song itself is all a very simple message of hope, nothing more, claims Michael. ‘We have all faced some dark moments over the past 18 months I'm sure, this is just me being positive as I always am even If I am not feeling it, but giving a prospective of everything is going to be fine and we are all together, cheesy I know, but sod It, this is what listening to Neil Young for hours on end with a bottle of red wine brings you’

The Turning

The Turning

5 Jun 2025 - 7 Jun 2025

Under white noise and digital chatter, an ancient planetary pull… It’s late spring when the evenings are starting to glow. On the horizon, the longest day of the year. Put the world on pause and lose yourself in a sound world where earthy Celtic folk flows into lively improvisations and brave, experimental new music. Sisters Rakhi and Simmy Singh spent their early years in the Welsh countryside, immersed in a blend of traditional Indian music, Western classical and folk. Now, they thread together these diverse influences in this intimate performance for violin duo and electronics, drawing us into the mysterious rhythms of the natural world. Nature may be a source of healing and inspiration, but our relationship with it is both precious and extremely fragile. ‘No One Is Too Small To Make A Difference’ is a journey in six parts, capturing the urgency of the environmental movement. Not just a lament for what’s lost, but ultimately a call for active hope and radical action. The great turning is here and now – there’s no escaping it.

The Herbaliser Band

3 Jun 2025 - 10 Nov 2025

The Herbaliser Band Live in London for ONE night ONLY! Formed in London during the early 1990s, the band's core members Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba were inspired by soul, funk and in particular the then current hip hop emerging from America. Unfortunately, at that time, they didn't know any rappers. They made up for this missing element by adopting an extra ingredient to fill the absence; a widescreen cinematic feel born of vivid imagination. The spy thrillers, westerns and detective shows of the duo's 1970s youth would be plundered for inspiration and translated to vinyl by what would soon become their trademark, an explosive and extensive live band. But this template was set long before the convening of that large ensemble.
