As featured on C4's Narrow Escapes Joel Sanders is the former Las Vegas comedian who swapped the hubbub of the city for a NICE CALM LIFE on the waterways. If you could abandon it all to follow a dream, would you Now in its 12th year, Angry Boater is a revelatory evening of comedy & stories about the joys, perils & madness that come along when you swap the comforts of suburbia for a nomadic life on the UK's waterways . Formerly, Joel was the comedian with a grand plan of becoming the first Brit to play all 50 US States. He managed 40, performing everywhere from the Deep South's redneck bars to casinos & theatres in the more traditional destinations. Joel lived the dream and worked with many of his comedy heroes, including Robin Williams. But in 2008 he gave all that up for a narrowboat on the UK's unpredictable & archaic waterways. To this day he's still floating around searching for .. . he's not really sure. Last year, Channel 4 followed Joel's adventures as he travelled on his narrowboat between shows in London & The Midlands and, in the new series of Narrow Escapes (airing from May 2025), they return to Joel as he prepares for his biggest voyage ever taking his narrowboat out to sea. This months Brewery Session is outside for a double bill of Jazz. We start the evening with Jazz Face [https://www.facebook.com/jazzfaceuk/?locale=en GB]. An instrumental trio proving once and for all that it's all about the Jazz Face! Then we have our good friends Jazz4Kicks following things up with a mix of lyrical classics. You'll recognise their front woman from such things as owning and running the bloody bar!!!!! That's right Holly will be performing a number of songs with the band. And also Brewery Session very own Tom will be standing in on Bass Guitar! As always with the outdoor sessions, buying a ticket guarantees you a weather proof seat.
