The List

Garrick Theatre

The Garrick opened in 1889 with financial help from none other than WS Gilbert, which makes it appropriate that for much of its long life it's been associated with comedy. It was given Grade II list status in 1960 and was thoroughly renovated between 1986 and 1997. In 2005 it was acquired by Nimax Theatres. The nearest Tube stations are Leicester Square (Northern/Piccadilly), Charing Cross (Northern/Bakerloo) and Embankment (District/Circle). The nearest bus stops are served by routes 3, 6, 9, 12, 13, 15, 24, 29 and 30.

Mrs. Warren's Profession

10 May 2025 - 16 Aug 2025

"I am my mother’s daughter. I am like you. But my work is not your work, and my way is not your way.” Vivie Warren is a woman ahead of her time. Estranged from her wealthy mother, she delights in a glass of whisky, a good detective story, and is determined to carve herself a sparkling legal career in an age ruled by men. Her mother, however, is a product of that old patriarchal order. Exploiting it has earned Mrs. Warren a fortune and paid for her daughter’s expensive education - but at what cost? Four-time Olivier Award-winner Imelda Staunton (The Crown) joins forces with her real-life daughter Bessie Carter (Bridgerton) for the very first time, reuniting with the extraordinary director Dominic Cooke (Hello, Dolly!, Good) to bring George Bernard Shaw’s incendiary moral classic crashing into the 21st Century.” ASSISTED PERFORMANCES: Captioned, 5 July, 2:30pm BSL Interpreted, 12 July, 2:30pm Audio Described, 19 July, 2.30pm

The Producers

30 Aug 2025 - 21 Feb 2026

The first major London revival of Mel Brooks’ musical adaptation of _THE PRODUCERS_ transfers to the Garrick Theatre this Autumn following a sold out run at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Based on the classic cult film, the original Broadway production won a record twelve Tony Awards, and skewers Broadway traditions, taking no prisoners as it proudly proclaims itself an “equal opportunity offender!”. Down-on-his-luck Broadway producer Max Bialystock schemes with timid accountant Leo Bloom to create the biggest flop in theatre history - only to have it backfire spectacularly, and with thunderous applause. Critically acclaimed principals MARC ANTOLIN, TREVOR ASHLEY, RAJ GHATAK, ANDY NYMAN, HARRY MORRISON and JOANNA WOODWARD all return triumphantly for the West End production, which opens on 15 September, with previews from 30 August. ASSISTED PERFORMANCES: Audio Described, 17 October, 7:30pm & 4 February, 7.30pm Captioned, 8 October, 7:30pm & 24 January, 2.30pm BSL, 27 September, 7.30pm & 22 January, 7.30pm
