Glastonbury Abbey
The ruins of this former monastery are now a grade I listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and are open as a visitor attraction. It is surrounded by 36 acres of parkland and is the legendary burial place of King Arthur.
The nearest train station to Glastonbury is Castle Cary (on the London Paddington to Plymouth line). Transport to Glastonbury is only by taxi from there. Alternatives are to travel to Bristol Temple Meads, Bath or Taunton. Onward travel can be via public service bus.
