E.R THORPE Album Release Show With Guest MATT HILL E.R. Thorpe Genre: Alt-Folk | For Fans of: Nick Cave / Aldous Harding / Beth Orton E.R. Thorpe is a singer-songwriter and visual artist whose haunting sound blends poetic storytelling with raw emotional depth. Raised in rural North Nottinghamshire by a blues guitarist father and a folk-inspired mother, she draws on a natural world rich with texture, memory, and meaning. Her debut LP, Human Love (Spring 2026), is an intimate reflection on resilience and renewal. Produced by Jim Baron of Crazy P it features contributions from Huw Costin (Torn Sail), Kev Bales (Spiritualized), Matt Klose (Crazy P) and renowned jazz bassist Simon Paterson. Performing regularly with The Low Drift, a collective inspired by the folklore and stories of the British Isles, Thorpe captivates audiences with a quiet, magnetic presence. Her voice carries both strength and vulnerability, and her songs are crafted to resonate deeply in intimate and grand settings. Her Debut LP Human Love is out Spring 2026 on Vicious Charm Recordings. Label boss and Skint founder Damian Harris signed her after falling in love with her EP Guided By The Sea (Came Death) in 2023. Matt Hill An accomplished singer songwriter in the americana folk tradition, Matt Hill's songs speak of history and community.Twenty plus years ago his debut album, a country heartbreaker, was voted Americana UK Album of the Year and his subsequent releases gathered 4-star reviews from the likes of Uncut and The Daily Mirror and radio play from BBC6 Music. Performing under the stage name Quiet Loner, he played across the UK and Europe. His career highlights included performing at Glastonbury festival. These days Hill devotes his time to community songwriting co-creating songs with people pushed to the margins of society. He's been songwriter in residence in a museum, a prison and a care home. (no booking fee) ABOUT Glossop Labour Club is a progressive social club. Active in the town since 1906 it is not affiliated to the Labour Party and is run wholly by volunteers. The gig will finish by 10pm. Last train back to Manchester is 1052pm. The club is a 5-10 minute walk from the station. Glossop Labour Club is fully accessible to wheelchairs.
