For our December show we have invited two of Scotland's finest blues rock bands to make the journey down from Glasgow for a Double Header of great music. As a finalist in this years Emerging Artist of the Year category in the UK Blues Federation awards, Bison Hip continue to prove that it's never too late to rock with soul, swagger, and a story to tell. Hot on the heels of 2024's acclaimed album Welcome To The Rest Of Your Life, the band have unleashed their third full length record: Everything That Came Before Was Just Leading Up To This a title that perfectly captures their journey so far. Formed during a lockdown Zoom call in 2020, Bison Hip bring together five seasoned musiciansfour of whom are over 50with a mission to craft authentic blues-rock that reflects real life and lived experience. "Weve never tried to be anything were not," says frontman Paul Sloway. "This new album feels like the culmination of everything weve worked towards." Their music is a gritty, heartfelt blend of pain, loss, joy, and hard -earned optimism'songs that speak to the trials and triumphs of life's later chapters. Following a string of raucous UK shows and growing praise from fans and critics alike, Bison Hip are cementing their reputation as a blues-rock powerhouse with something vital to say. Supporting Lynsey's vision is a powerhouse trio: Gavin Bussey's expressive guitar, Ian Fulton's groove-driven bass, and Calum Wilson's vibrant drumming, all combine to create a sound that's as tight as it is exhilarating. Their chemistry shines on stage, making every live performance a magnetic experience. The band's latest milestone is the recording of their upcoming 5-track EP, showcasing a bold evolution of their artistry.
