Pygmy Twylyte Perform the Music of Frank Zappa
So prolific was Frank Zappa's output, that it is nearly impossible to present a representative sample of his work in just one concert. Over the course of his life, and since his death in 1993, over one hundred official Zappa albums have been released, alongside countless bootlegs. These range from 60s psychedelia with the Mothers of Invention, Jazz and Rock material tinged with Zappas own inimitable spin, through to orchestral compositions performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, among others. Navigating the vast Zappa oeuvre then is no mean feat, but Scotlands Pygmy Twylyte have embraced the challenge with gusto. Since their inception in 2018, the band have selected a core body of classic material, complemented with a rotating offering of more obscure cuts, and blasted this to delighted audiences across the UK. With guitars, keyboards, saxes and multiple vocalists at their disposal, the band has a (stink)foot planted in the camp of several of Zappas most memorable touring line-ups. Head down to nod along to rock numbers, lose count during jazzy interludes (after all, its not dead it just smells funny) and evade the infamous Frunobulax!

Imagine the hip grinding groove of a Rival Sons standard fused with the sheer brilliance of Black Country Communion’s devilish debut. Justified – the jaw-dropping introduction to Who Feeds The Wolf? – is a spellbinding mix of Jay Buchanan and Joe Bonamassa with a great big dollop of Glenn Hughes thrown in for good measure.
Thomas Heppell, Emma Wilson & Mississippi Macdonald
This is Thomas at full power, delivering a hard-hitting mix of blues, rock and killer slide guitar. His live show is packed with energy, soulful vocals and the kind of musicianship that has already helped him sell out venues and appear at festivals across the UK and Europe. Expect fiery guitar solos, foot-stomping grooves and the unmistakable sound of a rising artist carving out his place on the modern blues-rock scene. Thomas and his band bring passion, polish and real grit to every performance, making this a night not to be missed. A modern blues force with a classic heart - live, loud and absolutely electric.

The Blues came calling first, but rock was always waiting around the corner. Well it would be, wouldn’t it? Coming from the deep south, it was inevitable, but living in the deep south of a major Yorkshire City, there’s a gritty hard edge to life! A female guitar prodigy, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a "great voice, but girls don't play guitar like that!" Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award. Chantel released her highly anticipated second album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, this being the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other.
