Dave Bainbridge & Sally Minnear

Dave Bainbridge & Sally Minnear

8 Jul 2025 - 8 Jul 2025

Award winning multi-instrumentalist Dave Bainbridge joins forces with Lord of The Dance vocalist, instrumentalist Sally Minnear to bring a spellbinding evening of music that will, in equal measure have you jigging in (or out of!) your seat or bring a tear to your eye. A compelling mix of powerful and ethereal vocal songs (including the occasional emotive Gaelic ballad). instrumental tracks (jigs / reels / slow airs / evolving soundscapes and virtuoso improvisation on keyboards, electric guitar, bouzouki and cowbell! Such were the incredible reactions to Dave and Sally’s first duo tour in 2015, that they continue to work together whenever their busy schedules allow, bringing their magic to audiences far and wide. ‘Live in the Studio’ (2018) received amazing reviews. The duo now have an enthusiastic following on both sides of the Atlantic following several tours in the UK, Germany and appearances at ProgStock Festival in New Jersey (2023 and 2024) and a ‘by public demand’ late night set on the iconic ‘Cruise to the Edge’ in the Caribbean in March 2024, which had the packed atrium (including many famous musicians) transfixed. Quotes "Dave Bainbridge, Thank YOU! ..it was a stupendous evening. Absolutely brilliant and beautiful performance. Sally's singing is incredible, we loved every minute! Everybody go and see this duo, they are something very special indeed, we can't wait to have them back.” Debs Earl, www.folkinthebarn.co.uk "Great show last night with Dave Bainbridge and Sally Minnear." Simon Nicol (Fairport Convention) “A magical evening in so many ways and a testament to the emotional power of storytelling of music. Quite Wonderful” Gary Mackenzie, Prog Magazine “Quite possibly one of the most engaging and concerts I’ve been to in recent months.” Grace Hayhurst, proghurst.co.uk “The whole concert was a joyous celebration of the music of Iona and much more.” Sally’s use of pipes, percussion and wind chimes complement Dave’s soaring guitars and expressive piano and keyboards throughout the evening, and together they really created a rich and ethereal sound. Wonderful stuff indeed.” David Edwards - TheProgressiveAspect.net “The ability of the pair to use music to change the mood from reflective to joyful was quite amazing. The way they closed the set with two Iona classics was another demonstration of this...they returned for Minnear to give a spine-tingling rendition of ‘Beyond These Shores’ which I think generated quite a few moist eyes in the house. Two consummate musicians at the top of their game playing an eclectic two-hour set of songs. Perfect!” Paul Whimpenny, velvetthumder.co.uk “I'm not sure I have the words to say how much I enjoyed every moment from 3pm to pack down - Sally (what a voice!) and Dave were a joy to work with and absolutely fantastic throughout. Chris Difford - Not Only ... But Also

Chris Difford - Not Only ... But Also

29 Sept 2025 - 29 Sept 2025

Being on tour is something I really enjoy, seeing people and being with people is part of my experience as a performer. I will be playing songs from the Squeeze catalogue and from the solo albums I have recorded over the last 24 years. My story is told through stand up and some sit down, a trip back to my council estate in South London, from my very first lyrical expression to the dressing rooms of this show. My new songs written with Boo Hewerdine tell a story of celebration, 25 years writing lyrics and playing on stages big and small. A journey I look back on with great fondness and gratitude. I can’t wait to climb back on stage and perform, although I have been shy in the past I now find myself feasting on the here and now deep within the shell like of your ear. I will be joined on stage by Melvin Duffy on his pedal steel and together we will deliver an evening of warm and I hope funny stories. Melvin’s playing is outstanding and I feel so lucky to have him as my sideman, he cries over the songs and makes them sound always amazing. 'Not Only But Also' is not just a look back on 50 lyrical years, it's a journey that asks, What Happened? What happened to all those years and mates I grew up with before I formed a band. I hope you enjoy this show.

Will Wilde with Support Ross Harding

20 Nov 2025 - 20 Nov 2025

Will Wilde has taken the harmonica way beyond its traditional blues roots since he first emerged on the music scene in 2010.Always pushing forward, evolving and redefining his sound. He gained popularity on Youtube with his awe-inspiring harmonica covers of classic rock guitar solos such as Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird. Throughout 2022/23 Wilde has been touring with his critically acclaimed rock band Bad Luck Friday, but 2024 sees him return to the blues with the recording of a new solo album (release date TBC). Wilde’s hard-edged harmonica steals the spotlight from the traditional blues rock guitar, with a sound that owes as much to Gary Moore as it does to Sonny Boy Williamson ."I’m always looking to make new sounds with the harmonica, pushing its boundaries, trying to change people’s perception of it.”In fact Wilde has gone one step further and created his own signature "Wilde Tuned" harmonicas so he can play licks that weren’t possible before .“The Wilde tunings help me take things to the next level. They enable me to hold my own with any blues rock guitarist.” Wilde picked up his first harmonica at a house party when he was sixteen. “I basically nicked it,” he says. “It was a cheap plastic Guinness harmonica just lying around amongst the drink bottles and cigarette butts, I was drawn to it. ”From then on playing became an obsession. “I used to play along to old Muddy Waters records for hours every day. Sometimes I played so much my lips bled,” says Wilde. “I couldn’t get enough of it. I wanted to know everything it could do, every sound it could make. After a while it became like an extension of me.” Wilde comes from a musical family .“Music was always around me" he says. “Classic rock, blues and soul were the soundtrack to my childhood .”His grandfather was a wartime jazz & blues pianist and his sister, Dani Wilde, is an acclaimed blues singer in her own right. Wilde has released four studio albums and one live album: Unleashed (2010), Raw Blues (2013), Live In Hamburg (2015), Bring It On Home (2018) and Bad Luck Friday (2022), as well as appearing as a guest harmonica player on albums by Walter Trout, Earl Thomas, Toby Lee, Dani Wilde, Marcus Malone, Krissy Matthews and Brave Rival. His early music reflects more of a traditional blues sound, but over time he has developed a more aggressive style that draws from the classic rock and blues rock music he grew up on. Wilde has recently been nominated in the UK Blues Awards for "Instrumentalist of the Year 2024". Photo by Riccardo Piccirillo Ross Harding is an acclaimed Blues Rock Musician from Johannesburg, South Africa, currently based in the UK. As a Songwriter and performing artist, he personifies rich, powerful vocal abilities With mesmerizing guitar skills, gaining international industry recognition for His commanding blend of blues and rock music, reminiscent of the classic rock, Grunge & blues artists of the past. A prolific Performing artist, his versatile stage performances range from a deeply soulful Solo acoustic artist to a high energy blues rocker, whose experience is that of an artist much older than he. A seasoned touring musician, he has played Hundreds of shows in clubs, festivals, and notable venues in his decade-long professional career. A Tribute to Fish-Era Marillion from Maquee Square Heroes
"We are going to play you part of our new album. It will only feature two songs: one called Side One and the other called Side Two." - Fish Marquee square heroes invite you to relive the moments that made marillion one of the biggest bands in the world Marillion still regularly undertake a series of shows around the UK at Christmas. Take the opportunity to transport yourself back to the very beginning of this Christmas tradition that sits slightly outside many other more traditional seasonal spectaculars. By the end of 1984, Marillion had completed their second album and toured to great acclaim with the Fugazi album. Demand to see the band was huge, and a multitude of pirated bootleg live albums began circulating amongst their fans. EMI decided to release a live "mini-album," available at a reduced price. And thus was born Real to Reel, a live album that really captures the essence and spirit of the band at that time. A few Christmas gigs were then booked, and the Real to Reel Tour was undertaken. No one could have anticipated what would happen to Marillion in 1985. The decision to release Real to Reel enabled the band to concentrate on writing the album that became the biggest-selling of their career: Misplaced Childhood. Achieving Number 1 status in the album charts, it provided massive exposure with top 5 singles chart positions for Kayleigh and Lavender, and a strong chart position for Heart of Lothian too. Kayleigh was only kept from the top of the charts by a worthy charity single. You couldn’t turn the radio on in 1985 without hearing that classic song of lost love and lost opportunities. On this tour, not only did Marillion play an exceptional set of songs from their catalogue, but they also played 17 minutes of the new album live for the first time. It blew those who witnessed it away. This year, MARQUEE SQUARE HEROES will recreate those shows, performing not only a set that reflects that tour, but also the entire classic Misplaced Childhood album, along with other classics not performed on that tour. Tickets will be limited, so buy now to secure your place.
Sarah McQuaid

Sarah McQuaid

18 Jan 2026 - 18 Jan 2026

“One of the most instantly recognisable voices in current music.” -Trust The Doc Sarah McQuaid’s lush, chocolatey voice combines with her engaging personality, “subtle mastery onstage” (Huffington Post) and “brilliant musicianship” (fRoots) on acoustic and electric guitars, piano and (occasionally) drum to create a truly immersive experience. Born in Spain, raised in Chicago, holding dual Irish and American citizenship and now settled in rural England, she brings the eclecticism of her background to her “captivating, unorthodox songwriting” (PopMatters) and choice of material, spanning genres and defying categorisation. All this is abundantly demonstrated by her new live album and video series The St Buryan Sessions - but needs to be savoured in person to be fully appreciated. Pre:Fab!: A Sneak Preview with Colin Hall
“Pre:Fab!: A Sneak Preview”: provides audiences to join Award-Winning Beatles Author, Director and Former Custodian of ‘Mendips’, Colin Hall, in an exclusive peak at excerpts from the new upcoming autobiographical documentary film about the Quarry Men, John Lennon’s very first group formed when Lennon was just sixteen years old. A story rarely told, the film is based on the memoir of Colin Hanton the drummer Lennon recruited to play in the band. Hanton drummed for John for nearly three years which meant he was there the day John met Paul as well as the first time Lennon played The Cavern and the time George auditioned for his place in the group. Colin also performed on the very first recording John, Paul, George and keyboard player John Duff Lowe made - ‘That’ll Be The Day’ b/w ‘In Spite Of All The Danger’. Hanton’s story is unique and until now, largely untold. When he approached Colin Hall to co- author his memoir (for which Hall came up with the title, ‘Pre:Fab!’) little did the two realise how popular the autobiography would become. Almost immediately an offer to turn it into a feature-length documentary came from Great Northern Films based in Florida ... and from there the adventure began. Joining Colin Hanton as he narrates his own story are surviving Quarry Men - Len Garry, Rod Davies, John Duff Lowe and Sir Paul, together with rarely seen footage of original members Eric Griffiths and Pete Shotton. ColinHall co-wrote,narrates andco-directed thefilm. Filmed in Liverpool in the places where the story happened, notable contributors to the story are Mark Lewisohn, Bob Harris, Joe Brown, Billy Bragg and Peter Asher ... to name but a few. During the evening Colin Hall will share excerpts from the film with audiences, telling storiesbehind its making and the writing of the book. He will also present a view of his twenty years as custodian of ‘Mendips’ (ten of which he spent actually living in the house). ‘Mendips’ is, of course, John Lennon’s former childhood home in Liverpool -he might just be persuaded to say a few words about the day Bob Dylan dropped in to say hello. The performance will consist of 2 x 40 mins with 25 minutes or more extracts from the film Pre:Fab!
