Hathersage Choir was formed in the summer of 1995, making this year our 30th Anniversary. The AGM on Monday 16 June will be followed by a celebration meal and drinks (BYO) at Hathersage Memorial Hall. The cost is 10 for choir members and 15 former members. The evening will also provide an opportunity for us to say thank you and farewell to Kate and Simon Mercer as well as our retiring Chairperson, Kathryn Vernon. The Dresser (by Ronald Harwood) This wickedly funny and deeply moving play tells the heartfelt and intimate story of Norman. Norman, is the devoted and long-suffering personal dresser to an aging, faltering, once-great Shakespearean actor/manager. They, and the other key characters in a troupe of touring actors, stage a production of King Lear. As World War II rages outside, Sirs failing health, wavering confidence and erratic behaviour threaten tonights performance and the companys future. Norman and those closest to Sir must scramble to ensure that the show, no matter what, goes on.... Due to content - minimum age 12 years

Hathersage Choir summer concert will be celebrating thirty years since the choir's formation. Our main work will be Vivaldi's Gloria and we will then be singing a range of well-known pieces chosen by the choir from Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and a medley of spirituals to Vaughan Williams' Linden Lea . The ticket price includes a programme and refreshments after the concert.
