Always fancied a go on a Stand up Paddleboard (SUP) but need a confidence boost to get started. Join one of our instructors for a one hour taster session. 45 minutes self-led hire, one person to a board. Safety brief given. Participants must be aged 8 years and above, under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Free 45 minutes Path to Paris Archery Junior session
Come and join in the spirit of the Olympics and take part in our free Path to Paris Archery sessions at Hollingworth Lake Water Activity Centre. Pre booking is essential, minimum of 4 tickets per booking and children aged 7 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Youth Sailing Stage 1 & 2 Course (2 Day)
The Youth Sailing Stage 1 course is run over two days from 10am to 4pm and is designed to teach children aged 8 years (or Year 3 Primary school) to 14 years old some of the basic skills needed to sail a small dinghy. You will cover various sailing techniques including controlling speed, turning the boat and capsize recovery and learn some basic sailing theory such as rules of the road, rigging and basic wind awareness. By the end of the course you will have a range of sailing skills and background knowledge and will be well on the way to becoming a confident and independent sailor and have the skills required to join the advanced sailing squad. Make sure to bring a towel, shoes you don’t mind getting wet, swimming kit, drink and snack. Youth Windsurfing Stage 1 & 2 Course

The Youth Windsurfing Stage 1 & 2 course is run over two consecutive days from 10am – 4pm and designed to teach children aged 10 years (or Year 5 Primary school) to 14 years old some of the basic windsurfing skills needed to control your board and sail. You will cover various windsurfing techniques including controlling speed, turning the board and self-rescue and learn some basic windsurfing theory such as rules of the road, rigging and basic wind awareness. By the end of the course you will have a range of windsurfing skills and background knowledge and will be well on the way to becoming a confident and independent windsurfer. On completion, you will gain membership to Hollingworth Lake Activity Club, which runs weekly sessions throughout the year. Make sure to bring a towel, shoes you don’t mind getting wet, swimming kit and lunch. Youth Paddlesport 1 Day Course

The Youth Paddlesport Course is designed for children aged 8 years (or Year 3 Primary school) to 14 years old and is an ideal introduction to paddlesports. Using both Sit on Top Kayaks and Paddleboards you will be introduced to basic Paddlesport skills as well as aspects of safety and rescue. This course provides the basic knowledge and skills required to begin to progress through the qualification scheme, as well as an introduction to the various branches of Paddlesport and will give you the skills required to join the advanced paddling squad. Make sure to bring a towel, shoes you don’t mind getting wet, swimming kit, drink and snack. October School Holiday Paddlesport Multi Activity
Our half day Paddlesport multi activity package running 9.30am – 12.30pm in the school holidays for children aged 8 years (or Year 3 Primary school) to 14 years old is a great introduction to paddlesport, an opportunity to make new friends and have a school holiday with a difference! The session includes kayaking, raft building, bell boat & paddle boarding. Make sure to bring a towel, shoes you don’t mind getting wet, swimming kit, a drink and a snack. If you go down to the lake today you’re sure of a big surprise! This summer, Hollingworth Lake Adventure & Water Activity Centre is bringing outdoor fun to your summer holiday Mondays! We all know teddies love adventures, so pack a picnic and your favourite bear and take a paddle out onto the lake in our bell boat to find your perfect picnic spot on the lakeside. Suitable for Ages 4+. Children must be accompanied by an adult - adults also require a ticket. Picnic not included - please bring your own. Especially for younger children aged 4-6yrs (or Year 2 Primary), the Mini Splash sessions last for 45 minutes and is the ideal introduction to watersports at Hollingworth Lake. Mini Splasher’s will get to wear a wetsuit and build confidence both in and on the water and the sessions are designed as an introduction to the water so swimming ability is not essential; the main emphasis of the sessions are to build water confidence whilst having fun!
Paddlesport Instructor Award 2 Day Course
Do you want to have fun? Like to spend time on the water? With likeminded people? Do you want to introduce people from all walks of life to paddlesport by running fun, engaging taster and starter sessions? If so your pathway to becoming a Paddlesport Instructor starts here. First of all, this is the qualification used by outdoor centres, organisations and clubs to support their activity delivery. Secondly it doesn’t matter if you Canoe, Kayak, Sit on Top Kayak, Stand Up Paddleboard, this course allows you to develop your existing skills and passion for paddlesport. Minimum age 16 years and above. The BCAB Paddlesport Instructor is endorsed by CIMSPA, aligned with their Professional Standards and is eligible for 20 Paddle UK CPD points and 10 CIMSPA CPD Points COURSE CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES: How to effectively prepare a group for an activity (e.g. kitting up and getting afloat); Together you will play with a range of activities to engage the group (e.g. games, tasks and journeys); You will explore a range of motivating activities and games that support learning; The tutors will support you to plan ways of using mini journeys to inspire adventure and exploration; You will develop ideas that allow you to help participants learn basic skills; Our tutors will share top tips and quick fixes for common challenges to accelerate learning; You will investigate how to select suitable equipment for participants; You will explore methods of maintaining participants’ safety and develop your understanding of deployment matters. The Paddlesport Safety and Rescue 1 day course will support you to explore and practice simple strategies and safe skills that provide you with the tools to solve common paddling issues in a sheltered water environment, providing peace of mind when venturing out onto the water. This award is all about keeping safe on your craft in sheltered water venues, this includes canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards. So, whether you are paddling with friends or your club, this practical course is packed with safe practical solutions. It doesn’t matter about your age or whether you have limited paddling experience, this course supports your knowledge and raises your awareness of your personal safety. Minimum age 16 and above
