The Bonnevilles are shaking Northern Ireland in a way it hasn't felt since Van Morrison & Them obliterated Club Rado in 1964 and Stiff Little Fingers blew apart The Trident in 1977! The Bonnevilles don't so much play punk blues as use it as a springboard to create a completely new genre. And now they release their fourth studio album Dirty Photographs with LA-based Alive Natural Sound Records. The Lurgan duo take Mississippi Hill Blues and Punk Rock and mix their own unique dark Northern Irish Punk Blues stew, which drew the attention of the aforementioned Alive Natural Sound leading to the release of the award-nominated Arrow Pierce My Heart on the label in 2016. The Bonnevilles formed in 2009 and quickly released their debut and now legendary album Good Suits & Fightin' Boots on Motor Sounds Records. McGibbon, being a blues fan, was moved to create The Bonnevilles after being heavily inspired by RL Burnside's A Ass Pocket Of Whiskey and bands like The Soledad Brothers, The Immortal Lee County Killers and blues heavyweights like Howlin' Wolf and Robert Johnson. McGibbon combines with McMullan's heavy metal drumming style in a band has become Europe's top alternative blues act. Playing the Deep Blues festival in Clarksdale, Mississippi and the legendary Junior's Juke Joint in Holly Springs in 2015 cemented the band's reputation as the real deal. Now the band's new album Dirty Photographs sees them reach fresh creative fields the same dark blues punk stew but with added sugar.

The band were influenced by 1960s guitar based groups like the Small Faces and post-punk new wave such as The Jam and The Clash. Although the band attracted a diverse audience, they soon became a firm favourite on the Mod scene playing numerous headline gigs all over London and the UK. In 1982, the band released their first single Love is Dead/Liberty on Whaam! Records. The single quickly sold out and is now quite collectable. The second single First Impressions on Valid records in 1983. In October 1984, after a farewell gig at Islington's Hope & Anchor, Small World were put on ice. This allowed the lads to pursue other musical projects which included The Combine and The Rage. In 1987, Small World reformed to play at the Assembly Room in Rotherham. The gig was a sell-out and subsequently the boys have continued to gig, on and off, ever since. The band released a double CD/Album on Detour Records in 1999 entitled 'Slight Detour' (DRCD019/DRLP019), this comprised of unreleased demos and the two singles the band recorded and is very highly recommended. He's been inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame but is still rather obscure to a lot of people. He plays well over 150 shows a year in the usual places. Across America. Sometimes in Europe, Mexico, and Central America. Then there's these other places he playsLebanon, Israel, Kurdish Iraq, India, and Afghanistan. All over the Middle East, often in war zones and refugee camps. In addition to his touring, Jerry has set up a non-profit called Nomad Music Foundation that acts as a sort of School of Rock for displaced teenagers in areas of conflict. So far, he has taken guitars and taught lessons in camps in Kabul, Afghanistan, and Sulaymaniyah and Dahuk, both in Kurdish Iraq. These life-changing missions have been written up in Rolling Stone, Relix, and PBS News Hour. Oh yeah, and he's really great.
