Acoustic Night with Romy Gensale

23 Apr 2026 - 23 Apr 2026

A great night of music with Romy Gensale The Arts Cafe will be open Generous tips jar for the performer. About Romy: Romas music and songwriting life starts way back in the early 1980s in her home Town, London, with her first band, an all female five piece called Drunk on Cake, playing their own brand of original music at popular independent and thriving venues, such as Camdens Powerhaus and Dingwalls to Brixtons Ace Club, and later finding herself in an 8 piece World Music band called Speaking in Tongues, gracing the stages of the ICA and The Marquee and filling out the Borderline as resident band. Her claim to fame was headlining an evening with support by an extremely talented Tori Amos making her mark on the Uk. Romy later moved to Norfolk for a quieter lifestyle and started to make her own mark on the world when she decided to go solo and begin recording her own music. Ive always been a fan of songwriters who can take a step back from life, really look at it in detail, make sense of it and then turn that perspective into something beautiful. A modern and feistily independent example of such is Romy Gensale Helen Robinson, Sounds Magazine. Romy has since formed a rock fusion band called ROME, taking her self penned music to a new and exciting level, and making waves at venues keen to promote original music. Romywill be offering a selection of her hauntingly beautiful, provocative and enchanting self penned songs in their original format, stripped back down to guitar and voice. https://youtu.be/Y6NE9y9Ciqw Download her songs: www.romygensale.co.uk

Come and join us for a great night of music. The Arts Cafe will be open! About Lizzy Hardingham: Home | Lizzy Hardingham Music Folk infused singer songwriterLizzy Hardingham sings songs that drive straight to the heart, giving audiences a chance for genuine connection and empathy. Hardingham is paving her way as a powerhouse performer with beautifully delivered songs, her wonderful voice grabbing the listener from the very first note and holding on until the last. Think Christine Collister, Joni Mitchell, Sandy Denny and KT Tunstall all wrapped into one. In 2022 she celebrated a brand new, full band, Help Musicians UK supported record - How Did We Get Here?. A 16 date tour with the likes of Katriona Gilmore, Jonny Wickham and Ellie McCann presented a jubilant, rich and full sound, but Lizzy's powerful and emotive voice stole the shows as usual. In short "Lizzy has a dazzling combination of voice and songwriting talent that rarely appears. After appearing as a finalist in 2018s New Roots competition she has gone from strength to strength. Lizzy has had success in the Herts, Milkmaid Folk Club and Watford Folk Song songwriting competitions as well the Royston Young Artists competition. Her sensitively penned songs have been spun on radio stations throughout the UK, across the pond and in Europe; with BBC Cambridgeshire heralding her as A truly passionate and important voice. 2019 saw her storm the UK folk club and festival scene, including Cambridge Folk Festival, while in 2020 she captivated online audiences with "a voice that could fill a stadium and the sensitivity to bring a room to attentive silence". This paragon of vocal vigour and songwriting sorcery has supported the likes of Lady Maisery, Gilmore & Roberts and Bob Fox (to name a few) and is emerging gracefully into the world of headline shows. Having been nominated for FATEA's coveted Female Artist of The Year, Lizzy is currently being mentored by the English Folk Expo and working on "firmly nailing her place as one of the rising stars of the folk scene". Lizzy Hardingham means business outside of performing too, having run her own songwriting competition alongside the St Albans Folk Festival as well as helping organise online efforts for New Roots in 2020. Her newest record, Seven, features a varied mix of traditional and self-penned songs about our seas. Half of the proceeds go towards the great work done by the RNLI. Head to the SHOP page to find more of Lizzy's releases. Her debut album Dusk is "an incredibly strong, top drawer album that packs a punch with every song" available on Spotify and all other good interweb streaming platforms, as well as the EP, Long Story Short.
