Ray Bradshaw: CODA

Ray Bradshaw: CODA

2 Apr 2026 - 9 May 2026

1 in 6 adults in the UK will lose their hearing in their lifetime; two of those are Ray Bradshaw’s parents. The multi award winning comedian is back on tour with a brand-new show all about growing up as a CODA; A Child of Deaf Adults. His upbringing was nothing like the Oscar winning film and he’s here to tell you why. CODA is a funny, heartwarming show all about the brilliant things that happen when you grow up in a house where sign language is the first language used; whether it’s watching his dad shut his eyes to win any argument or beating his in-laws easily when they suggested playing charades against a deaf family on Christmas Day. Ray’s previous shows Deaf Com One and Doppelginger were huge successes and sold-out theatres across the world. As this show is all about growing up with deaf parents every show of CODA will have a BSL interpreter. Ray has previously supported John Bishop on his UK arena tour after John described him as ‘one of the best comedians in the country’.

Blood Wizard

Blood Wizard

22 Apr 2026 - 25 Apr 2026

With a fascination for dissonant chords and jolting rhythms, the music of Blood Wizard provides a space for Cai Burns to express a side to their writing unrestricted by the pressures of genre. Having grown up surrounding themselves with punk and metal, it was not until Burns began collaborating with others that they found themselves falling more and more in love with the world of folk. And this was a love cemented when he stumbled upon the works of Bert Jansch. “I’m not sure how I first stumbled upon Jansch, but I was blown away by him. I was never taught how to play guitar so my technique is pretty sketchy and hearing the liveliness and clunkiness of his playing really spoke to me. I saw him as my bridge into playing folk guitar.” And whilst Jansch acted as an entry point into the world of folk, it was the persona of Blood Wizard that proved to be the biggest gateway for Burns. Under the guise of the mystical cloaks and robes of the wizard, Burns had found a home for his experimentation. Floating between both the subcultures he was raised within and the ones he presently found himself wanting to explore, Blood Wizard sits between the worlds of art, punk and folk. Influenced by the likes of Cate Le Bon and Arthur Russel, Blood Wizard was born out of a fascination with folk-lore and a desire to challenge their creative limits as a writer.

Callum Kenworthy, "No Ones Listening" Tour
Callum Kenworthy brings atmospheric alternative folk to the room as part of the UK tour for his new album No Ones Listening. The record moves through themes of modern life, emotional weight, and the quiet search for grounding in a fast-moving world, shaping a set that feels both reflective and immersive. Drawing comparisons to Nick Mulvey and Ben Howard, Kenworthys sound blends warm acoustic textures, subtle rhythmic pulse, and emotionally direct storytelling. Live, these elements unfold into layered arrangements that grow gradually, filling the space with mood, movement, and shared energy. No Ones Listening is built around contrast stillness and release, intimacy and scale, quiet moments and wider cinematic swells. That dynamic runs through the live show, creating an evening rooted in atmosphere and connection, where sound and space are given room to breathe.
Ben Moss @ Hyde Park Book Club

Ben Moss @ Hyde Park Book Club

21 Apr 2026 - 21 Apr 2026

Ben Moss' music has its roots firmly embedded in the English folk idiom, drawing inspiration from the rich tradition of storytelling and social commentary found therein. A versatile multi-instrumentalist, Ben's live shows see him flitting between guitar and banjo, violin and melodeon, searching for the perfect underpinning to his delicately crafted lyrics, touching on themes of masculinity, our disconnection with nature, and the challenge of maintaining political optimism. April 2026 will see the release of Ben's new EP, "Here We Will Dance", a collection of songs forming a call to action and optimism in an age of apathy and despair. The joint crises of climate and masculinity continue to be a deep wellspring of inspiration for his songwriting, and this record promises more of his characteristic blend of profoundly personal yet relatable reflections on modern life. This is true folk music, speaking to the present moment, with the voice of the people.
Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter

Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hereafter

20 Apr 2026 - 27 Apr 2026

Jesse Sykes and The Sweet Hereafter is the result of an enduring musical alchemy between singer-songwriter Jesse Sykes and guitarist Phil Wandscher, which began in Seattle, Washington in 2001. Blending folk, blues, orchestral pop and various psychedelic stylings, their sound culminates in what the New York Times has described as 'spellbound music, rapt in fatalism and sorrow. Known for her dusky, otherworldly vocals and lyrics that touch on the metaphysical, she was once described by MAGNET as being less like a performer and more like a sage and whether the sonic setting is one of doomy distortion or fragile finger picking, Sykes remains a truly unique vocalist whose dusky voice is capable of imparting a transcendent, almost spiritual quality to almost any tune it touches. The band has released five critically acclaimed albums; Reckless Burning (2002), Oh, My Girl (2005) and Like, Love, Lust and the Open Halls of the Soul (2007), while their fourth album Marble Son (2011) was released through Thirty Tigers in Nashville, on their own US imprint (Station Grey). Most Recently they have released, Forever, Ive Been Being Born, UNCUT magazine has featured it as Americana Record Of The Month calling it rapturous psyche-folk melancholia. Prior to his work with Jesse Sykes, Phil Wandscher help co-found the influential alt- country band Whiskeytown with Ryan Adams, in which he appears on the groups first three records, co-writing some of the bands most beloved songs, most notably songs on Stranger's Almanac, which many say was also arguably the band's most beloved album. Jesse Sykes also plays in a band with guitarist and Grammy winning songwriter Dave Alvin (a project called the The Third Mind, on Yep Roc Records,) alongside members of Camper Van Beethoven, Counting Crows and Richard Thompson's band.

She wrote the songs on this EP about the process of struggling with intense burnout: the texts from friends waiting endlessly for a reply, the days lost to endless scrolling, the dying plants that just remind you that you're not succeeding at taking care of anything. Amid real, raw pathos, there's also a sense of lightness to Baker's newly rocky full-band arrangements. These are songs that may never have existed had Baker not found a way to make music that excited her again, and that gives them tangible spark.

The Primitives

The Primitives

2 Oct 2026 - 2 Oct 2026

Fronted by indiepop blonde bombshell Tracy Tracy, The Primitives emerged from the independent scene of the mid-80s that spawned The Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, The Wedding Present and Primal Scream. Their sound distilled the shimmering guitar jangle of The Byrds, the buzzsaw style of The Ramones and '60s girl group melodies into two and a half minute pop gems. Regular session guests on John Peel’s radio show, with many an appearance in his Festive Fifty, their career was boosted/hindered when Morrissey named them as one of his favourite bands.

Ella Clayton ("could It Be You" Album Launch)
London folk/soul singer and songwriter Ella Clayton makes her Leeds debut at Hyde Park Book Club on Friday 1st May, launching her new album "Could It Be You" (released April 2026). It's a cosy and intimate solo show in the venue's smallest room, The Snug, co-promoted by London agents Woodburner Music and local promoter DJ Lubi. Support comes from Leeds indie-folk singer Katie Alice. Born and raised in London, Ella Clayton is a young indie-folk/soul singer and songwriter whose musical influences/reference points are Bonnie Raitt, Michael Kiwanuka, Billie Marten, Laura Marling and Jeff Buckley. She's performed live across London at prestigious venues such as The Windmill, Green Note, The Lower Third, The Waiting Room, Folklore Rooms, as well as UK festivals such as Truck Festival, Black Deer Festival, Ear Worm Festival and Latitude Festival. She released her debut album "Murmurations" in 2022, a deeply personal collection of songs that established her as a rising voice in the UK’s indie-folk scene. The record was followed in 2023 by "Stairwell", a stripped-back acoustic EP recorded in a three-story stairwell, capturing the raw intimacy of her live sound. In April 2026, she releases her new album "Could It Be You?". Producer Lester Duval (Pip Millet, Odd910), and Ella decided to record the backbone of the album live to capture the raw energy and connection between musicians - Ella on vocals, Lester on bass, Fabio De Oliveira on drums and percussion, and Alex Crawford on guitar. George Ezra invited them to his studio Hotel Quebec, and in three days, the album was brought into being. Over the next few months, they expanded the record’s scope by recording strings, a male choir and layers of guitar and hammond organ, in various studios and friend’s home studio set ups across London. An ambitious release that brings together so many of Ella's musical loves (folk, soul, jazz, pop), under one roof. Support is Leeds indie-folk singer Katie Alice. From Brighton originally but conquering Leeds in the last couple of years, she cites influences on her music such as Bess Atwell and Billie Marten, blending her unique approach with indie, folk and pop. As a live solo artist, Katie experiments with looping intricate guitar and vocal layers to create a soundscape perfectly suited to the atmosphere intended by each song. Her debut EP "As We Drift" was released in 2024, followed by the single "Stay Sane" later that year. Katie views music as a vital form of self-expression, offering a window into her world and comfort to those who resonate with her songs. Tonight, she returns to her folk roots with a solo set. Doors 7.30pm. Support 8.00pm. Headline 9.00pm. DJ Lubi Presents... This is a 14+ event (Under 18s to be accompanied by an adult)

Good Flying Birds

29 Jun 2026 - 30 Jun 2026

Good Flying Birds is a jangly, noisy guitar-pop group from the Midwest, USA. The project began in December 2023 with a string of 4-track cassette recordings and stop-motion videos uploaded to YouTube under the name “Talulah God,” accompanied by a chaotic, GIF-filled website. Over the next few months, songs were uploaded regularly, eventually catching the attention of influential punk and DIY label head Martin Meyer. In January 2025, Talulah’s Tape was released on Rotten Apple, compiling home recordings from 2020-2024. It showcased a wide-ranging love for independent guitar music, clever songwriting, and a charmingly scrappy, twee-punk aesthetic. The release found immediate underground acclaim, earning radio play and selling 300 cassettes in under a month. Riding the momentum and building a reputation as a dynamic live act, the group attracted significant label interest, ultimately signing with Carpark and Smoking Room. Together, the labels re-released Talulah’s Tape on vinyl and streaming in October 2025. It has since seen glowing reviews from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Paste, Bandcamp, and landed in numerous "Best of 2025" lists. Their sound nods to lo-fi icons like Guided By Voices, Beat Happening, DLIMC, Talulah Gosh, and The Vaselines, but carries a singular, earnest charm. It’s the sound of wide-eyed optimism in a cracked world-rosy cheeks, a tambourine in hand, and guitars ringing in all directions. Brudenell Presents...
