Pack of Lies by Hugh Whitemore Directed by Helen Hardwick Based on real life events 'Pack of Lies' is a beautifully written Cold War spy triller set in suburban Ruislip in 1961. The Jacksons are a nice middle-aged English couple. Their best friends are their Canadian neighbors, the Krogers. All is blissful in their world until a detective from Scotland Yard asks to use their house as an observation station to try and foil a Soviet spy ring operating in the area. The Jacksons become increasingly uncomfortable as Scotland Yard's demands on them increase. They are really put to the test when the detective reveals that the spies are the Krogers, and he asks them to help set a trap. Should they betray their friends? The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band Changed My Life Forever
THE BONZO DOG DOO DAH BAND CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER a new play with classic songs Written by: Patrick Prior Directed by: Jim Dunk Performed by: Pat Abernethy and Dave Marsden Yes there really was a Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band in the 60s. As if to prove it, this play tells the story of Bob, a diehard Doo Dah devotee, who has come to audition for a Tribute Band show Bob is a showbiz beginner, but, loaded with 60s music facts and massive enthusiasm, what can stop his march to the summit of Rockfame? Enter Eric, also auditioning, a man made of more cynical stuff hes been there and done it, and has the kaftan to prove it What could these two have in common? Only the play can tell. Funny, poignant and dappled with great 60s numbers, the show drew the following accolade from the very top of the Tribute tree: In this gem of a play, we meet two marvellously realized characters what a pleasure it was to spend an hour and a half in the company of these superbly played write-offs. They may be going nowhere but in a hugely enjoyable play, laced with some great 60s covers, loads of humour and painful candour its a trip well worth taking.I loved it Andre Barreau, The Bootleg Beatles. Pat Abernethy and Dave Marsden were brilliant in The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band changed my life forever. This play had the perfect combination of humour, nostalgia and sadness and it should be destined for a much larger stage setting. The play touches the hearts of anyone brought up anytime from the 1960s to the present day, reflecting on Rock and Pop trivia, life in a struggling band, and illness an absorbing combination. Pat and Dave transform themselves into humorous losers still chasing their own particular dream in the bottom end of the music industry. Their singing and acting combined kept the play flowing at all times, culminating with a heart-breaking emotional twist at the end. This play is presented by: www.isosceles.biz [//www.isosceles.biz]
