Pygmy Twylyte Perform the Music of Frank Zappa
So prolific was Frank Zappa's output, that it is nearly impossible to present a representative sample of his work in just one concert. Over the course of his life, and since his death in 1993, over one hundred official Zappa albums have been released, alongside countless bootlegs. These range from 60s psychedelia with the Mothers of Invention, Jazz and Rock material tinged with Zappas own inimitable spin, through to orchestral compositions performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, among others. Navigating the vast Zappa oeuvre then is no mean feat, but Scotlands Pygmy Twylyte have embraced the challenge with gusto. Since their inception in 2018, the band have selected a core body of classic material, complemented with a rotating offering of more obscure cuts, and blasted this to delighted audiences across the UK. With guitars, keyboards, saxes and multiple vocalists at their disposal, the band has a (stink)foot planted in the camp of several of Zappas most memorable touring line-ups. Head down to nod along to rock numbers, lose count during jazzy interludes (after all, its not dead it just smells funny) and evade the infamous Frunobulax!

Gaye Bykers on Acid

Gaye Bykers on Acid

5 Sept 2025 - 24 Jan 2026

Formed in Leicester in 1985 the Gaye Bykers on Acid rose to fame with their first independent release "Everythang's Groovy", which reached the Indie top 10. The Bykers followed their initial success with the "Nosedive Karma EP", which topped the independent charts. With their incendiary live shows their fan base grew, including a now infamous appearance at Glastonbury festival. The band were one of the first to fuse rocking riffs with Hip Hop beats and along with Pop Will Eat Itself became a part of the "Grebo" movement and in turn became front page news. Ahead of their time or just out of their minds, the Bykers were flavour of the month, which led the band to sign a deal with Virgin records, with whom they made 2 albums, "Drill your own hole" which was the soundtrack to a movie of the same name and the critically acclaimed "Stewed to the Gills". The Bykers then went stateside playing with the Cult at Madison Square Garden, where they impressed a watching Joey Ramone, who offered the band a support slot on the Ramones upcoming European tour. The band continued to evolve musically exploring new styles. Touring the UK, US and Europe it was this hedonistic and hectic schedule that eventually led the band to finally self-destruct in 1990... The original line up reformed in 2016 to play the Indie Daze festival and buoyed by the positive response they decided to carry on.
Zanias + Special Guests

Zanias + Special Guests

10 Sept 2025 - 10 Sept 2025

Zanias has been haunting underground clubs around the world with her instantly recognisable voice and uniquely ethereal electronic productions since 2011, with the spawning of her first project Linea Aspera in London. As a solo artist, now based in Berlin, she explores a more alien and spherical palette of sounds, fusing her coldwave past with the experimental pop influences of Fever Ray, Enya, early Grimes and Caroline Polachek. With her upcoming album Cataclysm, Zanias delivers a poignant call for revolution of both politics and consciousness in the face of humanitys existential threats of war and climate collapse, conveyed through her signature of deeply personal and poetic lyricism. Every song inhabits its own aesthetic universe and rhythm, featuring elemental fusions of witchhouse, trance, breakbeats and hyperpop. Cataclysm represents an ambitious defiance of genre in pursuit of artistry with a potent political message delivered with haunting balance of vulnerability and strength. It will be released into the world in late 2025, accompanied by a new audiovisual live set co-created with drummer Dylan Cairns.
Stigmata Presents Empathy Test

Stigmata Presents Empathy Test

7 Dec 2025 - 7 Dec 2025

Over the past decade, Empathy Test has evolved from complete obscurity to become one of the best-known and loved bands in the UK, German and American alternative electronic music scenes, with listeners all around the world. Empathy Tests unique brand of cinematic, analogue synthesizer-enthused pop has been hailed by the UKs Clash Magazine as gorgeous, by USAs KCRW as both nostalgic and immediate, and by Culture Clubs Boy George as a musical orgasm. As well as Boy George, Empathy Test also count Rusty Egan (Rich Kids, Visage), Midge Ure (Thin Lizzy, Ultravox), Republicas Saffron Sprackling and Spanish actress Ester Exposito (Elite) among their fans. Empathy Test's stunning debut single, Losing Touch, taken from the 2014 EP of the same name, has had over seven million streams on Spotify. Losing Touch first gained international recognition when it appeared in visual artist and animator Richard Swarbricks viral video celebrating Liverpool Football Clubs 2013/14 season. The animated video picked up over 270K views and was shown on the teams official TV channel. Swarbrick went on to use a second Empathy Test track, Kirrilee, as the soundtrack for another viral video The Cats of YouTube. A third, Last Night on Earth, soundtracked a series of videos commissioned by ESPN for the NBA Finals in the USA. In early 2015, Here is the Place, from the bands second EP Throwing Stones, appeared in an episode of MTVs Catfish, a show about people creating fake identities online. Catfish brought the band further recognition in North America and around the world, and the show has been rebroadcast in multiple countries almost constantly since then. In 2017, using the now defunct PledgeMusic platform, Empathy Test successfully crowdfunded the self-release of not one, but two debut albums, Losing Touch (Remastered) and Safe From Harm. The crowdfunder was 100% funded in just 10 hours and finished up 661% funded, allowing the band to press the two albums on CD and vinyl. The two albums were given a legendary 10/10 by Brutal Resonance, and 10/10 and 9/10 respectively, by Elektroskull. In 2020, once again harnessing the power of their rapidly growing and loyal fanbase, Empathy Test crowdfunded their third album, Monsters, via IndieGoGo. This time, the project was fully-funded in just 20 minutes, eventually finishing up 667% funded. The album was warmly received by fans and critics alike. Brutal Resonance gave Monsters 9/10, as did Release Magazine, while ReGen Magazine focused on its "production value, lyrics, and overall musicianship" and Swedish website Hymn praised their "timelessly melancholy melodies". Despite not having a record label (the band has turned down offers from many of the big labels in the scene, in favour of doing things their own way), Empathy Test are an attractive proposition for CD and vinyl collectors alike. Their short runs of consistently high-quality Digipak CDs, limited edition colour vinyl LPs, and picture discs, invariably sell out. You will see their limited 7" singles with asking prices of up to $100 on Discogs. Before September 2023, when they signed a physical distribution deal with SPKR, Empathy Test had sold over 4,000 12 vinyl and over 6,000 CD albums, without any formal distribution. On Spotify, Monsters has had upwards of 3.4m streams, Losing Touch (Remastered) 4.8m, and Safe From Harm, 1.9m. Aside from consistently releasing high-quality music, Empathy Test has toured as main support for the likes of VNV Nation, Covenant, Mesh and Aesthetic Perfection. They have also appeared at multiple alternative music festivals such as Wave Gotik Treffen, Mera Luna, Amphi, Plage Noire and NCN in Germany, Liverpool Sound City, Infest and Resistanz in the UK, and Winter Waves, Electrixmas and Subkultfestivalen in Sweden. They have also embarked on successful headline tours of the USA, Germany, France, and UK. Empathy Test is: Isaac Howlett (vocals / songwriting) and Adam Relf (production, composition). They currently perform live with the help of David Leisser on drums and Nadine Green on keyboards and are represented by Pluswelt Promotions for booking. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

Stigma Presents Ashbury Heights

Stigma Presents Ashbury Heights

4 Feb 2026 - 8 Feb 2026

Ashbury Heights are a synthpop duo from Sweden consisting of the dynamic singer/producer/songwriter team of Anders Hagström and Tea F. Thimé. Originally, the duo consisted of Anders Hagström and Yasmine Uhlin. However, she announced her surprise departure from the band in Hamburg at the last concert of the Out Of line festival tour 2008. Anders and Yazmine met in November 2005 and, upon discovering that they shared the same musical vision, decided to form a band. Their collaboration soon came to fruition with the release of a 9 track demo entitled "Angora Overdrive" after a very intensive month in the studio. The second four track demo, "Parliament of Rooks", which was finished in February 2006, had a more refined sound compared to their first offering. They decided to send it to a few select labels because the reaction they got to the first demo was quite overwhelming. Having sent the demos on Monday, Ashbury Heights was contacted and contracted by German Out of Line records on Wednesday, only an hour after the label had received the CD. This probably makes Ashbury Heights one of the fastest signings in history. Several other labels expressed an interest in the band, but there was no bidding war as Out of Line moved so quickly. Although having signed the famous German act "And One" at about the same time as Ashbury Heights, which ate a lot of the labels' resources, Out of Line wasted no time. The legendary producer John Fryer was brought on board to produce the promotional single "Cry Havoc" in April 2006, something quite unheard of in the world of the electronic underground. Very few bands in the synth-genre get to release promo-CDs (if any), and certainly no other band in modern synth-history has released a promo-CD produced by a celebrity of the likes of Fryer. John Fryer would eventually mix their first album "Three cheers for the newlydeads". Released in october 2007, the debut album was recieved with overwhelming optimism from press and audience alike proving once and for all that Ashbury Heights truly is a force to be reckoned with. In 2008 Ashbury Heights returned with the "Morningstar in a Black Car" EP, containing five new songs and four remixes. The EP received good reviews and helped keep up interest for the band. A video was made for the track "Spiders", a low budget affair which nevertheless managed to project some of the bands unique flair. Ashbury Heights, with brand-new female vocalist Kari Berg, released their new album 'Take Cair paramour' on the 2nd of july 2010. In 2010, following a long running dispute between Hagström and the record label Out Of Line the band disbanded. This dispute was settled in 2011, whereupon Hagstöm and Out of Line renewed their collaboration. However, it took until 2013 for Hagström to find a new singer. The new singer is Tea F. Thimé, the first female to co-write lyrics for Ashbury Heights. The band are excited to announce their first ever UK Tour which coincides with their 20th Anniversary, so this eagerly awaited UK tour is set to be very special indeed!
