What's On @ Jacksons Lane Theatre

Hundred Watt Club - Burlesque and Cabaret
With a raucous & raunchy cast this show is a no-holds barred, full throttle journey into the wonderful world of show-people, spectacles & songbirds, all wrapped up with a feisty, tongue in cheek ribbon! Hundred watt club is proud to be one of the longest running burlesque revues in the UK...No two shows are the same, so expect the unexpected, and gear up for a good old fashioned, very grown up, bawdy & beautiful evening of variety entertainment. The lowdown: Not for the fainthearted, this show employs and embraces adult themes, strong language and partial nudity with gusto. No refunds if it's simply 'not to your taste'! Over 18s Only. Glamorous, vintage attire is encouraged (we love it when you dress up!) but not enforced; wear what you're comfy in. Show starts at 8pm and includes an interval.

Dr John Cooper Clarke: 75 Years of John Cooper Clarke
John Cooper Clarke shot to prominence in the 1970s as the original ‘people’s poet’. His unique poetry was put to music by producer Martin Hannett and a band of Mancunians The Invisible Girls. Seminal tracks such as Beasley St and Evidently Chickentown featured on the album Snap Crackle and Bop, one of 4 hit 70/80s album releases. JCC became one of the most prolific artists of the Punk years. His 1980s poetry collection 10 Years in An Open Necked Shirt featuring the lyrics to classic tracks from his albums and more, is one of the UKs biggest selling poetry collections of all time. Since then his career has spanned cultures, audiences, art forms and continents. Today he performs purely as a stand up solo poet. His unique poetry show has been touring worldwide for over 15 years. Dr John Cooper Clarke's 2019 autobiography, named after his most famous poem I Wanna Be Yours, (Macmillan), is a groundbreaking piece of literature. JCC goes into fascinating detail about his early life in Manchester leading up to punk superstardom, drug addiction and then the massive comeback as major poet he enjoys today.

Blending storytelling and stand-up, past and present collide in this tale of hijinks and resistance. Directed by Mark Thomas, this celebrates ordinary people still shaping history. Award-winning theatre maker and “Fringe legend” (Time Out), Victoria Melody joined a historical re-enactment society… because we all deal with divorce differently! Spending weekends as a Musketeer trying to get her head straight, she uncovered the story of a bunch of 17th-century radicals called The Diggers—and everything changed. What started as a personal search for happiness turned into a quest to find the Diggers of today. She didn’t expect to find them far from the battlefield, right on her doorstep. Blending storytelling and stand-up, past and present collide in this tale of high jinks and resistance. Directed by Mark Thomas, this celebrates the ordinary people still shaping history.
Rob Newman: Where The Wild Things Were
From Rob Newman comes a barnstorming new stand-up show about where we are and where we're going. From future cities and philistine film directors to Dorothy Parker's Multiverse Diaries. Throw in Pythagorean gangsters, intellectual bingo callers and a crazy character called Arlo - and the result is a hilarious tour-de force utterly unlike anything else you will ever see anywhere else!
