Get ready for a night of loud, raw, and unforgettable live music - this one is not to be missed. Ranga Records presents... President Elect: President Elect are a London-based indie rock band dealing in high drama, cheeky chaos, and big-hearted songwriting. With a sound that swings from cinematic heartbreak to sun-drenched swagger, they blend the urgency of UK alt-rock with the melodic flair of West Coast and Australian indie scenes. Formed by frontman Iggy and drummer Zak, later joined by guitarists Vincent and Jude, the band built their name in London’s live circuit with explosive sets at venues like The Social, Old Blue Last, and The Grace, Islington, earning a reputation as one of the capital’s most exciting new live acts. Whether packing out sweaty venues or building slow-burning anthems in the studio, President Elect fuses off-beat charm with lyrical sincerity - the kind of band that can make heartbreak feel like a chorus worth shouting. TogetherEffect: TogetherEffect is a rising Anglo-American indie-pop duo from Brighton, made up of Caleb Kent (24, U.S.) and Noah Smith (23, U.K.). Formed in 2023, the band blends energetic guitar-driven pop with emotionally honest lyrics about growing up, relationships, and life in your twenties. Their debut single “Nature Song” gained traction on TikTok, leading to sold-out shows and a fast-growing fanbase. In June 2025, they released their first EP, Mid 20s, featuring standout tracks like “Apartment” and “A Bit Too Much”. Known for their DIY ethic and strong fan connection, TogetherEffect is quickly becoming one of the UK’s most promising indie acts. Galla Nua: Galla Nua is the moniker of musician and producer James Jones from Scotland - an indie rock/folk project steeped in influences that range from Nick Drake, Bon Iver, Wunderhorse, and Radiohead. Sister Ghost / Dogviolet / Hot Wife

Sister Ghost / Dogviolet / Hot Wife

23 Oct 2025 - 23 Oct 2025

Short Waves Presents: Sister Ghost Sister Ghost is the haunting, self-made world of Irish musician Shannon Delores O’Neill-a rare artist redefining what DIY means in rock today. Having played in bands since the age of 12, O’Neill launched Sister Ghost, writing and recording everything herself on an old 8-track recorder. The result: a spectral fusion of art-rock and dark power-pop, Sister Ghost is for fans of the Seattle sound mixed with Juliana Hatfield, Veruca Salt, Patti Smith and Kate Bush; music that’s both intelligent and visceral. Over the years, Sister Ghost has grown into one of Ireland’s most vital and fearless rock voices. O’Neill was awarded Best Live Act at the NI Music Prize, and has shared the stage with major acts including Snow Patrol, Fontaines D.C., Pussy Riot, We Are Scientists, and more. Beyond the stage, she’s also a changemaker: in 2016, she founded Girls Rock! NI, a grassroots music initiative empowering young women and gender-expansive musicians across Northern Ireland-a movement that continues to grow. Critically acclaimed by The Guardian, Louder + Hot Press Magazine, and featured on KEXP, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and RTÉ 2FM, Sister Ghost’s debut album, Beyond The Water, now marks the bold arrival of an artist who has been quietly-and persistently-laying the groundwork for something extraordinary. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Veruca Salt) and drummer Jeff Friedl (A Perfect Circle, DEVO), the album signals a fearless new chapter of artistic vision and international ambition. Dogviolet Dogviolet channel Mother Nature to tell stories spanning social injustice, familial challenges, sapphic desire and the power of community. Blending grunge, goth and 90s rock sounds, Dogviolet deliver chorus-drenched dissonant guitars and weaving rhythms offset by strong resonant vocals, delicate harmonies and sharp spoken word. Hot Wife Hot Wife started as a few pints at a south London pub between two girls with a mutual passion for 90s garage rock and pop culture heroines. Tired of the city's male-dominated music scene, they set out to write their own kind of songs. Pairing big riffs with tongue-in-cheek lyrics, they provide a soundtrack for sacrificing your boyfriend and kissing your friends. Presented by Short Waves. This is an 18+ event

Haal + More Tba

20 Sept 2025 - 20 Sept 2025

Combining elements of post-rock, metal, trip-hop and industrial noise, Bristol’s HAAL have quickly become cult favourites in the UK live scene. Their psychotropic blend of sampling, DIY home-crafted pedals, monolithic instrumentation and immersive live visuals has seen the band play and tour alongside the likes of Deliluh, Butch Kassidy, Famous, DITZ, Treeboy & Arc and Water From Your Eyes, as well as appearing at festivals such as ArcTanGent, Dot To Dot, Wanderlust, Outer Town & many more. Coming off the heels of their recent singles and subsequent remixes by Squid + Water From Your Eyes, the band’s debut EP ‘Back To Shilmarine’ arrived as a blistering snapshot of the band's protean dynamism. Praise for the EP from publications and blogs such as Total Guitar Magazine, CVLT Nation & Alternative Press demonstrate their craft, whilst radio-play, playlisting and support from BBC Radio 6’s Jamz Supernova, Nabihah Iqbal and even Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore showcases their ability to pique interest from tastemakers far and wide. ‘Back To Shilmarine’ celebrates the culmination of all of their influences, exploring themes of cosmic revelation and despair, all whilst set to an uninhibited maelstrom of sound spanning everything from intricate math-infected guitar lines to guttural screams, propulsive drumming to totemic riffing, all rounded off with synth-sponsored eeriness and intrigue.
