The Higgins Society is the Sixth Form Academic Society at Kings Worcester, named after Alexander Higgins OV (1865-1935), Professor of International Law at the University of Cambridge, President of the Institut de Droit International, and a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration. The focus of this years lecture is religion and history.
As a clergyman in Kidderminster, Richard Baxter (16151691) made his name as a Puritan theologian and writer known for his moderate and conciliatory approach during the religious conflicts of 17th-century England. He wrote extensively on theology and pastoral care, with The Reformed Pastor being one of his most influential works.
