Bramwell’s first studio output appeared in 1989, when he was performing and recording as Johnny Dangerously and entitled You Me & The Alarm Clock, an album The Guardian referred to as one of the ‘greatest albums you’ve never heard.’ Following a stint as a television presenter and as a member of the band, The Mouth, Bramwell formed I Am Kloot, with two members of The Mouth. They went on to record six studio albums, including the Mercury-Prize nominated album, Sky At Night. Since 2016, Bramwell has reverted to being a solo artist and tours continuously, around the UK and Europe. A home-recorded solo album, Leave Alone the Empty Spaces appeared in 2018 and the follow-up, a more expansive affair, with a working title of The Light Fantastic, is now scheduled for release in 2022.

Ian Parker Band

Ian Parker Band

8 Jun 2025 - 8 Jun 2025

A songwriter genuinely literate, sometimes almost literary, Ian is an original craftsman. Expressed through a distinctive bitter-sweet vocal delivery, Ian's songs hold nothing back. His ability and willingness to share with his audience, naked honesty and genuine emotion, is what sets him apart.Ian's career took off in the summer of 2003, when he signed to Ruf Records following a personal introduction to US record producer, David Z (Prince - Purple Rain). His debut album 'INSIDE' (Ruf1094) was released in October of that year.Further albums, live DVDs and extensive tours of Europe and the USA followed, with Parker always seeking new musical avenues to explore, never content to merely rehash old ideas, no matter how successful they may have been. To this end, Ian is something of journeyman, guided by his art and his self-confessed emotional need to express his soul through music. His journey has taken unexpected turns, testing his loyal following from time to time, but the integrity of his writing, the quality of his distinctive voice and the soulful nature of his signature guitar playing have always been the bedrock of his work.Following the release of Politik Blues (Eye-Pea002) in April 2015, Ian refocused his attention on the Stratocaster-driven blues music he began building his reputation on, more than twenty years ago. A return to the iconic Rockfield Studios (Queen A Night at the Opera) in the summer of 2018 resulted in the blues album many long-standing fans and critics alike are lauding as his best work to date. Spoonful of Gold Blues for Willie celebrates the music of Willie Dixon, delivered in Ian's inimitable style.Freed from the shackles of being the new kid on the block vying for attention in an over-saturated market, Parker approaches his music, these days, with the calm, self-assurance that accompanies one who has, to some extent, been there and done it. Nothing to prove and still so much to say, Ian Parker remains an act not to be missed.Katie Fitzgerald's Sunday 28th November, 7.30pm FULL BAND! Ian plays his first genuine hometown gig in a decade on Sunday 28th November at the newly refurbished and capacity-expanded Katie Fitzgerald's in Stourbridge. Ian returns with his full four-band and will perform the blues-rock material through which he forged his reputation in a career spanning twenty-five years. After eighteen months without be able to performing in public, it has been a real privilege to begin playing again over the summer. I am really excited about the prospect of a home-town gig in what is now a fantastic, intimate venue always my favourite kind of place to play, commented Parker. Our current setlist comprises blues and blues-rock covers and originals taken from the albums that I have released over the last two decades. Im genuinely enjoying playing more than ever before, he added.
Dizzy Lizzy

Dizzy Lizzy

Dizzy Lizzy are a fantastic live tribute act, dedicated to one of Rock's all time legends Phil Lynott & THIN LIZZY. One of the country's leading and most dynamic tribute acts, they are the only act to have headlined both, the Vibe for Philo in Dublin & Remember Phil & Gary event in Holland. Also appearing at many prestigious venues, around Britain, such as the Cavern- Liverpool, Matthew street festival, O2 Academies up & down the country. Plus other large capacity venues including Butlin's. They have also performed and toured with the original Thin Lizzy guitarist Eric Bell. (Pic) Eric Bell's reaction on first seeing the bandI could only watch three numbers owing to the emotions. The resemblance to Phil and the mannerisms and playing, it was spooky it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck They can also be heard on the documentary CD I am just a cowboy. Released in the year 2000.

3 Daft Monkeys

3 Daft Monkeys

11 Oct 2025 - 5 Dec 2025

3 Daft Monkeys' dynamic style of world-influenced folk music and infectious dancing rhythms will leave you breathless, enthralled and exhilarated. After experiencing the band's notoriously energetic live performance at Glastonbury Festival last summer, Mark Radcliffe declared them as one of his Highlights of the Festival on BBC TV coverage, and subsequently invited them to play a session on his BBC Radio 2 Folk Show. The band have also performed a live session with Whispering Bob Harris on Radio 2, after he experienced them 'live' at Cropredy Festival. With their quirky and original approach to music, and their passion, intensity and sheer joy of life, 3 Daft Monkeys have gained themselves a large and loyal cult following, which is still growing rapidly due to their intense touring schedule. Their music is hard to pigeon-hole, mixing and crossing many musical genres from Celtic, Klezmer, Gypsy, Balkan, Latin, Ska, Dub Reggae, Indie, Rock and even a hint of Shostakovich. Fascinating lyrics of personal and whimsical observations on life, and folk tales both ancient and modern, are told within the swirling layers of their music, all with the essential catchy sing-along chorus. Their latest story-led and theatrical album Of Stones and Bones'(Best Album, Spiral Earth Awards) is a collection of old, new and fictional Cornish tales of forbidden love, murder, rebellion, witchcraft and piracy. All delivered with panache and a wicked vein of humour.

An evening with Jess Silk

The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican

The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican

30 May 2025 - 30 Jan 2026

Founded in Barnsley Rock City in 2006,The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican are on a mission! Far from being your typical folk ensemble, this cult-like collective of like-minded knit-wear enthusiasts are determined to follow in their spiritual fathers immortal footsteps and keep his legacy alive. Scott Doonican and his brothers-from-other-mothers, Dave Doonican, Dr. Mo-Jo Doonican and Reight Reverend Jeremiah Rickenbacker Doonican III, have quite the talent for Bar-Stewardizing other famous peoples songs with new satirical comedy lyrics, on folk instruments, and to complete their outrageously understated image, the Doonicans have become instantly recognisable for their immaculate hair and their stylish choice of sexy knitwear, and instantly memorable for their lairy, no-holds-barred, anarchic live shows. A group that is both perpetually on the move, ever-evolving and joyously independent, they have played close to 1350 side- splitting shows to date, and have brought smiles and belly- laughs to audiences across the UK; from Barnsley to Barnstaple, from Glastonbury to Glasgow. They continue to wow audiences with a fine selection of their greatest hits, including the likes of Jump Ararnd, The Lady In Greggs, "How Deep Is Your Glove?", "Paint 'em Back", "Goat Yoga", and If I Could Punch A Face... Itd Be Justin Biebers. After countless sellouts at the Lantern over the last 17 years, The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican cant wait to bring their circus back to Scott Doonican's self-proclaimed "favourite venue on the planet" and they promise that they WILL rock you... but gently!
Next Level Folk Presents Next Level Guitar Wizards
Next Level Folk presents a special triple-bill show highlighting the musical wizardry of three of our most accomplished local acoustic guitarists, live at the legendary Katie Fitzgerald's. Nick Evans is a widely respected guitarist and performer who many will know from the New Crystal Folk Club in Halesowen, which he co-runs. He has toured folk clubs extensively over the decades and is often in demand to dep with other groups. His fingerstyle playing and popular song choices make him an entertaining act. Gerry Riley has been playing guitar for more than 50 years and still maintains an hour a day minimum rehearsal time, in a never ending quest to improve technique. During the 1970s, whilst also fronting seminal heavy metal band Hamburger Mary, Gerry played solo acoustic sets at town halls across the country, opening for top acts including Gary Moore, John Renbourn, and Johnny Thunder and The Heartbreakers. For the next two decades, Gerry toured folk clubs across the land, and during the nineties took centre stage at Brecon Jazz Festival, Notts Americana, and The Bulldog Bash, with blues/rock outfit Sticky Liquor. After his wife Pauline contracted cancer, Gerry stopped everything for nearly twenty years to devote his time to caring for her. She passed away almost five years ago, and before she died she told Gerry, "Don't give up on your music." To that end Gerry has been playing out once more, and is now ready to stun audiences with his guitar wizardry, biting blues, and stunning instrumentals, mixed with self penned material. Sean Griffin draws inspiration from blues, country, rock and metal music to take his guitar playing to new realms. Respected locally as a "guitar players' guitar player", Sean's out-of-the-box playing, rhythmicity and dexterity raise eyebrows wherever he plays. He is an accomplished songwriter with a smokey blues voice, and is adept at putting his own spin on (often unexpected) classic tracks. You'd have to go a long way to watch a more interesting and entertaining guitar player.
Kerry Worton

Kerry Worton

13 Sept 2025 - 13 Sept 2025

BIOGRAPHY: Kerry Worton is a singer, songwriter and guitarist, who is no stranger to stage or studio. She has worked as a ses- sion musician and has recorded backing vocals for various artists and bands, most recently Spoon Speaker Man ( members of Indie giantsNeds Atomic Dustbin and Power Of Dreams). Kerry is now taking centre stage and is performing her original songs as a solo acoustic performer or with her band ( Cajon, electric guitar, electro acoustic guitar and bass). Kerry Worton recently supported The Smyths and Sham69 to name a few. She went viral after performing Break Up Song live on the online channel Narrowboat Sessions in September 2024 which received a staggering 250,000 plays in six weeks. It was this that catapulted Kerry, a multi instrumentalist, to record her EP. She describes her music as Black Country acoustic alternative rock which echos the sounds of bands that wail and hail from her birth place in the West Midlands. Recently Kerry Worton showcased her songs in New York, USA and Germany and performed live with her band on UK radio. Compared to the likes of Janis Joplin and Sinead O Connor, her voice can be haunting and inviting, then in a split second it grabs you unexpect- edly with emotional rawness and power. Equally her acoustic guitar playing draws you in with the energetic prowess of punk/ rock with the hypnotic undertones of the blues. Her single Mother U was released in December 2024 which was dedicated to fostering families, a subject matter that rarely, if ever gets mentioned in songs. The video to Mother U equally delivered the raw, emotional side to the song and was featured in RtE EntertainmentBehind The Music, GOD IS IN THE TV ZINE and Louder THAN War along with it being played on UK, Ireland and US radio. Kerry Worton released Break Up Song ironically on Valentine's Day this year, which she warned us wasnt your typical crying into your pillow bull%$& break up song ! Again this single was played on UK and international radio. Coincidently the music video, which was produced by Kerry, received rave reviews with its cheeky, apathetic approach to falling out of love. The eagerly, anticipated EP will be released in Spring 2025 with her debut album towards the end of the year. An incredible mu- sician who just loves performing and is versatile in her approach, whether it's performing her original songs as a soloist or with a band the energy and power remains the same. Kerry is a maverick and I cant wait to see where this trail blazer heads creatively next... I am continually amazed at her drive, determination and massive talent - Craig Walker ( Power Of Dreams, Spoon Speaker Man, Archive). Fierce, hook laden melodies dance over funky buoyant staccato riffs... from tenderness to strength, from lush reflective harmonies to soul'spanning

25 years on from the release of The Seahorses’ seminal album Do It Yourself, acclaimed vocalist Chris Helme will revisit the iconic record with a series of one-off acoustic performances across the UK throughout 2022. Formed by Stone Roses’ guitarist John Squire, the English alternative rock band released their first and only album in 1997 to an outpouring of adoration from fans at home and around the world. The album reached number 1 and number 2 in the Scottish and UK album charts respectively, made the top 40 in countries including New Zealand and Sweden, and defined a moment in time for hundreds of thousands of people. The Seahorses were regular contributors to some of the most coveted Friday night TV slots going, with unforgettable appearances on Top of the Pops, Jools Holland and TFI Friday. It wasn’t long before Do It Yourself went platinum, selling 300,000 copies in the UK alone. The Seahorses never released another album and ever since Do It Yourself connected with the British public in the 90s, this debut record has continued to mean so much to so many. This year, Chris is set to take audiences back to 1997 and the era of Brit-pop classics as he performs the impactful album from start to finish, in a way rarely heard before. Watch as Chris lovingly brings the memorable album’s cherished tracks back to life, including Love is the Law – which reached number 3 in the UK and number 1 in the Scottish singles charts and has racked up more than 8.2 million streams on Spotify, and Love Me and Leave Me, which was Liam Gallagher's first ever songwriting credit. Chris, one of the finest singer-songwriters on the circuit today, has gone on to enjoy an established solo career. His “dreamy but driven indie folk” (Q Magazine) and blistering voice, which continues to stop audiences in their tracks, has garnered ongoing critical acclaim and he is readying a new solo album for release in 2023. Join Chris Helme as he marks the 25th anniversary of Do It Yourself with acoustic performances of this iconic album for the very first time at much-loved venues across the UK.

Fred Zeppelin

Fred Zeppelin

3 Oct 2025 - 3 Oct 2025

The story so far: Advance tickets £12.00. £16.00 OTD In 2023 Fred Zeppelin have reached 30 years together. Well, to be precise, Steve Black (that's me on drums) formed the band 30 years ago with three mates. Our original singer Rob Bloomer left after 2 years so Steven Gale replaced him, and approx 11 years ago our bassist Kevin Brown, & guitarist Keith Jenkins also left the band. We really thought that would be the end but we got very lucky and found the dynamic duo of Mark Cresswell on bass and Elliot Gavin on guitar. We're a bit like Trigger from 'Only Fools & Horses' talking about his broom (that's if you are old enough to remember!). Anyway, we think 30 years is an achievement that we're all proud of. 30 Years Gone.... During their time together the band are honoured that Led Zeppelin's front-man, Robert Plant, has attended three of their gigs and John Bonham's son, Jason, even jammed with them on stage. It must surely also be the best recommendation any band could receive and assure Led Zeppelin fans apprehensive about seeing The Fredz. It's worth taking a camera with you, as you dont know who could be standing next to you. In the audience have been MAGNUM's front-man Bob Catley, WHITESNAKE's guitarist Mel Galley. Roy Wood legendary main man of THE MOVE & WIZZARD, and SLADES Jimmy Lea. The band were also invited by Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page to attend a charity event of which Jimmy is a patron. They were thrilled to meet and chat with the legendary guitarist. Also at the party were Roger Daltrey, Julian Lloyd Webber, Leo Sayerand Formula One's David Coultard. What a night !! According to one of Kerrangs reader's polls, FRED ZEPPELIN were among the top ten best live bands to see. Quite an achievement, as at the time they were the only tribute band listed in any category.

Two tales of terror from the master of horror W W Jacobs. THE GHOST OF JERRY BUNDLER As guests at a small country inn pass the evening telling ghost stories, they discover that the very inn they are staying in, has its own resident ghost, Jerry Bundler, who is known for strangling his victims while they sleep. Two of the guests proclaim they dont believe in ghosts. One of the other guests, an actor, decides to put them to the test by betting that he can scare them before the night is up. THE MONKEY'S PAW Mr. and Mrs. White are visited by a friend of Mr Whites, who served with the British Army in India. He shows them a mummified monkeys paw and tells them that an old fakir placed a spell on it, so that it would grant three separate men three wishes but with hellish consequences for tampering with fate.
