Online Safety: What Every Parent Needs To Know In 2026
The digital world is moving quickly. Artificial intelligence, evolving social media platforms, gaming communities and encrypted messaging all shape young peoples lives in ways that are complex and, at times, risky. This event is designed to give parents and carers clear, current and practical guidance. We are pleased to welcome Karl Hopwood, a nationally recognised Online Safety Expert and memberof UKCIS (UK Council for Internet Safety). He will address: The latest developments in technology, including emerging platforms and tools, some information about the online safety act, recent changes and what this means Social media bans, whats happening in Australia and the consultation here in the UK Some of the latest Ofcom stats about what children and young people of different ages are doing online AI, sextortion and the growing sophistication of online manipulation Some of the results of research into the potential harms around chatbots and AI companions Positive uses of technology and practical, realistic steps families can take at home and with devices to reduce harm Family centres, family sharing and the importance of dialogue and discussion Karl works with schools, police forces and organisations across the UK and brings up-to-date insight grounded in real cases and current trends. Nat Stewart, Head of PSHE and Life Skills at Kingswood School, will outline how online safety is taught through our spiral PSHE curriculum in Years 7 to 11, including how we prepare pupils to think critically, act responsibly and seek support when needed. Simon Parsons, Network Manager at Kingswood School, will explain the systems and safeguards in place on our school network, and how the IT team works proactively to protect students during the school day. This session will provide informed guidance, practical strategies and a clear understanding of how school and home can work together to support young people in a rapidly changing digital landscape. When fear and confusion plunge the kingdom into an endless winter, a daring journey begins across frozen mountains and enchanted landscapes. Along the way, friendships are tested, courage is discovered and the bonds of family are pushed to their limits in a world where magic and emotion are deeply entwined. Filled with spectacle, humour and heart, Frozen is a breathtaking stage musical about love in its many forms between sisters, friends and those who dare to believe in one another. With its soaring songs, dazzling visuals and timeless message, it promises an unforgettable theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.
