Opera Bohemia, Scotland's professional touring company, returns to Kirkcaldy with Strauss's sparkling comic masterpiece, Die Fledermaus a riotous evening of mischief, mistaken identities, and irresistible melodies. Director John Wilkie and designer Alisa Kalyanova transport this hilarious tale of revenge at a lavish party from Austria to Scotland! A star-studded cast includes Scottish favourite Catriona Clark, former Scottish Opera Emerging Artists Laura Margaret Smith and Ross Cumming, and American baritone Whitaker Mills, who recently made his debut at New York's Metropolitan Opera. Accompanied by piano (Andrew Brown) and violin (Colm O Braoin) and performed in English, this is operetta at its most entertaining fast-paced, funny, and full of charm. Langtoun Jazz Presents Harben Kay Quartet
We are delighted to start our 2026 season with a quartet of musicians led by award-winning tenor saxophonist Harben Kay who is quickly becoming recognised as a leading creative voice in UK jazz, with three critically acclaimed albums, five UK tours and performances at esteemed jazz venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, The Royal Albert Hall and The Vortex. Their latest release, Firn (2026), was recorded on the same day as their third album The World I Live In (2025) and similarly released on Kay’s own label Sulis Records. Conceived as a reflective companion piece, Firn continues in the exploration of themes including change and transformation, and how these processes shape creative expression. Harben will be joined for the concert by Peter Johnstone – piano Ali Watson – double bass Alyn Cosker – drums
Langtoun Jazz Proms 2026 - Vocal Concert
4 local choirs will delight us with an afternoon programme of tunes from 1926 and 1776 (commemorating the year of the publication of Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations). Kirkcaldy Choral Union, Fife Opera, Kirkcaldy Gilbert & Sullivan Society & Langtoun Central Church Choir will each perform a short set and then members of each choir will come together to perform the debut of a special commissioned piece by Richard Michael, BEM.

Prepare for an afternoon of fun as the future stars of jazz in Scotland – and beyond – demonstrate their instrumental skills to get your toes tapping. Suitable for the whole family. Formed in 2002, the Scottish National Youth Jazz Orchestra gives Scotland’s best young jazz talents a grounding in the work of jazz masters from Ellington to Corea, from Basie to Shorter, and from Miles to Metheny. The SNYJO has advanced the musicianship of over one hundred and thirty young players. Past members include winners of the Scottish Album of the Year Award, the BBC Young Jazz Musician title, the Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year competition, and have registered successes in the Scottish Jazz Award, the Jazz FM Awards, and nominations in the Mercury Prize. The orchestra’s albums have won praise internationally and regularly feature in radio programmes across the world. The class of 25/26 continues to impress audiences with individual and collective prowess, giving performances that guarantee excitement, creativity, and grooves to make you move.

Bafta award winner Karen Dunbar is one of Scotlands best-known comedy actors and DJs. Starting off in the sketch show Chewin the Fat, she then went on to star in her own show, The Karen Dunbar Show, which received 4 nominations for the Golden Rose European TV Awards. Karen has trod the boards in everything from Glasgow Panto to West End Classics, performed Burns, Shakespeare, done stand up and DJ-ed in New York and Ibiza, and in 2014 she opened the Commonwealth Games in front of one billion viewers. From Oran Mor to the National Theatre, Karen has captivated audiences with mix of comedy, music and acting talents and last year she toured Scotland playing 80 dates around the whole country and filmed this for BBC.
