The List

KOKO

It opened in 1900 as the Camden Theatre, and was one of the biggest London theatres outside the West End, but after a long career as a theatre and cinema, it became a music venue, the Music Machine, in the 1970s. Many punk bands got crucial exposure here, and AC/DC's Bon Scott had a fatally good time here in 1980. In 1982 it became the Camden Palace, but then in 2004 it underwent a multi-million pound restoration (including a massive and award-winning commitment to sustainability) and morphed into KOKO. It's since been one of the top live music venues in the capital. Tube access is available from Mornington Crescent (just across the road) or Camden Town which is just over a mile away. Blue badge holders can park on the single yellow line on Crowndale Road and Bayham Street, while there are plenty bicycle racks for those travelling by pedal power.

Michael Shannon & Jason Narducy

Michael Shannon & Jason Narducy

1 Sept 2026 - 9 Sept 2026

Michael Shannon & Jason Narducy And Friends announce a 2025 U.S. tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of R.E.M.’s iconic 1985 album, Fables of the Reconstruction. After the pair’s acclaimed, sold out run honoring R.E.M.’s famed debut album Murmur, which saw the four original members of R.E.M. come together for the first time in 17 years at the tour’s Athens stop, the Fables tour will take Shannon & Narducy to nearly three times as many cities across the country, including shows in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, and more, along with two nights in R.E.M.’s hometown of Athens, GA. Kicking off Friday, Feb. 14th at Pappy & Harriets in Pioneertown, CA, the tour will see Shannon & Narducy—alongside Jon Wurster (drums), John Stirratt (bass), Dag Juhlin (guitar), and Vijay Tellis-Nayak (keyboards)—playing Fables of the Reconstruction in full each night in addition to many other R.E.M. songs. Shannon, an actor/musician known best for his film/series/stage work, and Narducy (Bob Mould Band, Superchunk, Sunny Day Real Estate, Verböten, Split Single) have been collaborating for the last eleven years, playing entire albums by some of their favorite artists such as Neil Young, The Modern Lovers, Bob Dylan, The Smiths, and T. Rex at various Chicago clubs. In July 2023, they performed Murmur at Chicago’s Metro to a full house, with a guest appearance from R.E.M.’s own Mike Mills. Initially planned as a one-off performance to honor both the album and venue’s 40th anniversary, the show’s success inspired Shannon and Narducy to take the project on the road. “I had never done a tour before. Jason nudged me after the Murmur set in Chicago at Metro. Now it’s all I want to do,” Shannon says. “I’m happy this one is twice as long. The last one was too short. This music is beyond comprehension and I cherish every chance I get to deliver it, even second generation. R.E.M. means the world to me. And this band led by Jason is stone cold ridiculous. Even if I never walked onstage, you would get a hell of a show.” Narducy adds: “After Michael and I took the band on the road playing Murmur, we discussed possibly trying something again in 2025. It will be the 40th anniversary of Fables Of The Reconstruction so we will open with that album, in sequence. Then we will dig deep into the R.E.M. catalog to round out the performance. Each show will have unique setlists. We love celebrating the music of this great band.” Presented by DHP FAMILY. This is a 14+ event (under 16s to be accompanied by an adult)

Eartheater

Eartheater

27 Aug 2026 - 27 Aug 2026

Upset The Rhythm presents EARTHEATER (aka Queens based artist Alexandra Drewchin) distills foley-filled digital production, a three-octave vocal range, and classical composition into works suspended between obsessively detailed sonic tapestries and almost recklessly romantic and gestural electronica. A body of viscerally emotive live performance stands alongside her recorded output, realized by her fearless physical investment and gut-wrenching vocal sincerity. 'IRISIRI', Eartheater's third full-length record (out now on Pan), lays out a shifting network of abstract song craft, laced with sudden structural upheavals and collisions of mutated tropes from numerous sonic vocabularies. Modular synth staccato plucks hammer out in arrhythmic spirals over a carefully muzzled grid of pumping kicks - unleashed in unpredictable disruptions. Technoid stabs mingle with crushed black metal. An icy OS reads poetry against a bed of granular synth swells. Drewchin's sirening whistle-tone vocals drape over relentless live harp arpeggios. Drewchin's lyrics, strewn with flourishes of wordplay and symbolism, explore themes of her autodidactic experience - playing with the tutelage of the 'pupil' within the 'iris' mirrored in the palindrome IRISIRI. Eartheater confounds expectations of structure and resolution before deciding to thread in a sugary melody that snaps us back into some conception, however hazy, of pop songwriting. ?Drewchin performs and collaborates with art duo and close friends FLUCT. In February 2017, she starred in Raul de Nieves and Colin Self's opera The Fool at the Kitchen. In April 2017, featured on two tracks from Show Me The Body's Corpus I mixtape alongside Denzel Curry and Moor Mother. She's currently composing work for the contemporary chamber orchestra, Alarm Will Sound, that will debut in May 2018. Her new live set sees her accompanied by the concert harpist Marilu Donivan. https://alexdrewchin.bandcamp.com/releases "In Eartheater's burgeoning musical world, women don't need to fold their voices in service of beauty. They are free to make a ruckus, to sound monstrous, to gnash their teeth at anyone who would pen them in." - Pitchfork "The risks taken here make it Eartheater's most striking full-length. In the album's endless subversions and contradictions, Drewchin occasionally hits on something profound, like sepulchral atmospheres, or the way her vocals run circles around the harp strums. Her music can feel frustratingly fragmented one second and suddenly coalesce into something brilliant the next." Resident Advisor? ?All artistic gestures feel connected in her world: music, dance, poetry, film, stripped of conceptual baggage and made accessible, full of feeling and expression built on a pounding intellect." The Wire

Peach

Peach

5 Sept 2026 - 5 Sept 2026

Peach returns to its spiritual home on Saturday, 5th September, at KOKO London - though you'll notice we're calling it Camden in the listing. And of course, it's a Day Party - 1-9pm. In an era defined by high-tech production, constant connectivity, and camera phones, it's easy to lose sight of what truly matters when we go 'out out': being present, escaping the routine of everyday life, and immersing ourselves completely in the music. This September, we invite you to step back in time and experience Peach as it was when Peach moved to Camden in 1996- raw, authentic, and entirely focused on the dancefloor. A celebration of living for the weekend, making new friends, the energy, the freedom, and a connection that defined an era. To bring that feeling back to life, we'll be stripping things right back - removing the visuals and darkening the club so it truly feels like Camden Palace once again. No overproduction, just atmosphere. That said, our laser show will be as big as ever - a nod to the moments that defined that era. Also, we're returning to our roots - the original Peach tradition when the residents carried the entire journey - and these nights were often the most unforgettable. With that spirit in mind, we're thrilled to welcome back Dave Lambert for a special Positiva label set, along with some free Positiva Records giveaways, and our much-loved resident, Pele will be back. 100% confirmed. No distractions. No phones. No cameras. No excess. Just YOU, the music and raving in the moment at a door price that equates to club entry in 1996!! Finally, budding DJ's, still looking to be noticed? We are going to be helping 4 of you to get on the ladder to stardom - more info soon.

The Radio Dept

The Radio Dept

3 Nov 2026 - 3 Nov 2026

The Radio Dept. is a pop group originating from Malmö, Sweden. In the fall of 2001 Johan Duncanson and Martin Larsson (now Carlberg) decided to pull some people together and start a band. Johan had just recorded a bunch of songs that impressed Martin and having made sporadic home recordings together every once in a while since the winter of 1998/1999 they now wanted to make it more serious and to be able to rehearse and perform live. Out of sheer laziness the group's name was taken from a band that Johan had been a member of that wasn't active anymore. In the spring of 2002 The Radio Dept. got a great review in the Swedish music magazine Sonic that made the Stockholm based label Labrador get in touch with the band. After a few eps, two self released (Against the Tide and Annie Laurie) on the band's own label Slottet and one (Where Damage Isn't Already Done) by Labrador, the band's debut album Lesser Matters was released in January 2003 to much critical acclaim. It was subsequently re-released in 2004 by XL Recordings/Beggars and started to reach audiences internationally. The three singles XL put out from the album all made the prestigious Single of the Week page in NME and Lesser Matters was later featured on the same magazine's 'Album of the decade' list. The group enjoyed a slightly more widespread recognition after three tracks (Pulling Our Weight, I Don't Like It Like This and Keen on Boys) were included on the soundtrack for Sofia Coppola's film Marie Antoinette. By early 2006, the bands second album Pet Grief was released, and some touring followed. Although it never quite received as much praise in the music press as it's successor, the album gained much popularity throughout the world from an ever-growing fan base online. The Radio Dept. has always been a very politically charged band and several singles and EPs with sharp political commentary have emerged throughout the years. Freddie and the Trojan Horse came out in 2008 and was aimed at the Swedish prime minister at the time, Fredrik Reinfeldt, and his right wing party Moderaterna, for posing as a workers party in order to trick workers into voting for them. Another stab at the right wing government came just days before the Swedish election in 2010 with the single The New Improved Hypocrisy. The same year the band released its third album, Clinging to a Scheme, which contained the singles David, Heaven's on Fire and Never Follow Suit and was followed by a lot of international touring. To bridge the gap between albums Labrador decided to release a compilation album in 2011. It was named Passive Aggressive and contained all the single A-sides to date and a selection of B-sides and rarities. During the process of writing and recording their fourth and final album under their deal with Labrador, the band got caught up in a lengthy legal battle against their label and publisher, which in distress ultimately made the band scrap the album they were working on, only to restart later on a blank page with new ideas. After a few one-off singles, Death to Fascism in 2014 and This Repeated Sodomy in 2015, it was announced in July that the band will release their fourth album Running Out of Love on 21 October 2016.
