Honest, self-aware, and unapologetically funny, his material feels lived-in and instantly relatable. Lager Than Life is a celebration of nights that spiral, mates who never change, and the quiet chaos of everyday British life. Sandros relaxed delivery and natural crowd connection allow his punchlines to land effortlessly, turning familiar situations into moments of pure comedy. One minute hes dissecting modern masculinity, the next hes deep into a story that probably shouldve stayed off record but youre glad it didnt. This tour marks the next step for a comic firmly on the rise, bringing his most personal and hard-hitting material yet to live audiences. Whether youve followed his podcast appearances or are discovering him for the first time, expect big laughs, brutal honesty, and stories that hit close to home. Irvine Welsh: In Conversation

Irvine Welsh: In Conversation

19 Sept 2026 - 20 Sept 2026

Irvine Welsh was born in the great city of Edinburgh and matured in the housing schemes of Leith, West Pilton and Muirhouse. Neither school nor conventional employment appealed, but he was inspired to write after experiencing the explosions of punk and rave first hand. Trainspotting, Welsh's debut novel, was rejected from the Man Booker Prize shortlist, allegedly for offending the judges. It went on to sell over a million copies in the UK alone and was adapted into an iconic film by Danny Boyle, starring Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle and Kelly Macdonald. Porno was adapted into T2: Trainspotting, a sequel that reunited the original cast and crew. Renton, Begbie, Sick Boy and Spud, the much-loved antiheroes of Trainspotting, inhabit a fictional universe based on Welsh's experience of an inner-city Scotland blighted by Thatcherism and drug abuse. This universe has often been revisited in novels including Skagboys, The Blade Artist and A Decent Ride. It has been augmented by iconic characters from subsequent books, like Juice Terry, Post Alec, Jonty McKay and, trying to keep them (and themselves) in order, wayward cops Bruce Roberson and Ray Lennox, both of whom were played to devastating effect by James McAvoy in the film Filth, and on TV by Dougray Scott in Crime. 'General Admission + Book' tickets include a copy of Irvine Welsh's new book, Can Nothing Save Us, which will be available collect at the event.
Steve Knightley

Steve Knightley

5 Nov 2026 - 6 Dec 2026

As a long-serving troubadour of the folk and acoustic music scene, master songwriter and storyteller Steve Knightley has spent much of his life on the road, collecting songs, stories, anecdotes and observations with the odd disaster along the way. Best known for his work with the award-winning acoustic roots group Show of Hands, Steve has performed in venues from the Albert Hole in Bristol to the Albert Hall in London. His impressive back catalogue of songs are modern classics, still filling the folk clubs and festival fields, and forever influencing the next generation of folk artists. Steve says, 'A life on the road certainly has its challenges, but I can't say I'd do it differently if I had to start all over again. The format of 'Songs and Stories', and now 'Roadworks' allows me to share the stories I've collected over the years, along with plenty of observations along the way. It's just me, a radio mic and a couple of guitars which is daunting and liberating in equal measures, and it's enabled me to build elements into my shows which I've never been able to before.'

In fact Will has gone one step further and created his own signature "Wilde Tuned" harmonicas so he can play licks that werent possible before. If that’s not enough, he’s also walked 724km around the length of the Israel Wall in the West Bank, been credited with changing the law on tax avoidance, started a comedy club in Palestine with Dr Sam Beale and campaigned successfully for things like trade union recognition for cinema workers and getting multinationals to change their practices. You’re right, there’s more, but your attention is running out and we’re running out of space. So, let’s just say he’s generally mucked about trying to have fun and upset the right people…which he is really, really good at. This is a taster menu of political and personal mayhem, jokes, rants and a state of the nation broadcast as he tries to turn ‘what the hell is going on’ into a cogent evening of stand-up.

Von Hertzen Brothers (Acoustic Enough)
Celebrating 25 years of music with unique reimagined performances from across the band’s celebrated catalogue Acclaimed Finnish progressive rock band Von Hertzen Brothers have announced a special run of UK theatre dates. Taking place in intimate seated venues across the country, the shows will celebrate the band’s 25th anniversary with a unique concert experience unlike anything they have presented in the UK before. The band wryly describe these performances as acoustic ‘enough’ - while the songs may be reimagined beyond their usual electric rock set-up, these shows are anything but stripped back. Far from a simple “unplugged” set, they interpret the band’s music in a way that feels intimate, expansive and more immersive than ever before. The three brothers, Mikko, Kie and Jonne von Hertzen are joined on stage by their bandmate, multi-instrumentalist Markus Pajakkala whose impressive array of instruments goes far beyond a traditional acoustic set-up. The brothers themselves also show off their insane musical skills, each playing multiple instruments and taking turns on drums, keyboards, guitars, vocals, percussion and whatever else happens to be at hand. Presented in seated theatre and cabaret-style venues, these evenings are designed to bring audiences closer to the songs and stories at the heart of the music. Spanning the band’s rich 25-year catalogue, audiences can expect fan favourites, deep cuts and rarely performed material presented in brand new arrangements created especially for these shows.

They nurture and synthesise this material with sensibilities drawn from drone, free improvisation, contemporary classical and metal, weaving this through with a deep sense of the ways in which traditional music holds queer histories, proto-feminist narratives and the voices of those who by their labour create the wealth of the world. They are simultaneously traditional and experimental, seeing folk music not as an archaeological artefact to be unearthed, but as a living communal activity, inviting and generous to those it speaks to.

Jim White + Ben De La Cour

Jim White + Ben De La Cour

4 May 2027 - 4 May 2027

Numerous songs from White’s back catalogue have appeared in film and television, with his Primus-esque Word-Mule being featured in the Heisenberg Episode of Breaking Bad, while more recently Jim’s dreamy duet with Aimee Mann, Static on the Radio, graced the closing credits of the feature film El Camino. Americana music fans may recognise White as the narrator and de facto tour guide for the award-winning BBC documentary, Searching for the Wrong Eyed Jesus, a road movie set in the rural South which the LA Times described as “Decidedly strange, delightfully demented.” Prior to becoming a musician, White led an aimless, diverse life, working countless menial labour jobs, culminating in thirteen long years driving a taxi cab in New York City. It was during a psychological spiral at the end of those thirteen years that White crossed paths with David Byrne, who promptly signed White to a record deal. There followed a succession of critically acclaimed solo records. White recently completed his first novel, Incidental Contact, a “Magical Realism memoir” centring on a series of uncanny coincidences that befell him during his days driving a taxi. Ben de la Cour’s visceral songwriting grabs you by the heart and doesn’t let go. Weaving evocative stories of desperate characters with his signature “Americanoir” sound, de la Cour shines a glaring light on the human condition. De la Cour’s songs are as heartbreaking as they are beautiful. Photo Michel Goessens. Presented by Melting Vinyl. This is an 18+ event

Joshua Burnside

Joshua Burnside

26 Sept 2026 - 22 May 2027

Northern Irish experimental folk songwriter and producer Joshua Burnside is something of a regional anomaly. With a brooding, powerful sound echoing artists of places afar and time long gone, his enthralling craft defies local comparison in striving towards an aesthetic as much as visual as it is sonic. Balanced with a diverse palette of sounds, Burnside deftly blends alt-folk and elements of the Irish folk song tradition with South American rhythms and Eastern European influences, whilst introducing synthetic and found-sounds, synths loops and crunching beats to create a stormy world that shifts and swirls perspective like a lingering lucid dream.
