Joe Wells: I Am Autistic

Joe Wells: I Am Autistic

4 Oct 2025 - 8 Nov 2025

Comedian, not a person with Comedy. Autistic, not a person with Autism. In 2020 Joe wrote a stand up routine about his (severely)non-autistic brother. A video of the routine went viral, gaining over 2.5 million views. Joe then found himself as an unelected spokesperson for all autistic people. That was a lot of pressure. Everyone wanted to know what it meant to be autistic, but he was still working it out for himself. Follow up to the critically acclaimed "Joe Wells Doesn't Want to Do Political Comedy Anymore!", this is a show about identity, neurodiversity and the pressures of finding social media fame. As seen on BBC2's, Ouch! Storytelling Live, BBC3's Quickies and Dave's Comedy Guide To Life. Co-Host of the Neuro-divergent Moments podcast and author of Wired Differently: 30 Neuro divergent People Who You Should Know.

Bambara

Bambara

29 Aug 2025 - 3 Sept 2025

One thing you won't be able to avoid on Bambara's Stray is death. It's everywhere and inescapable, abstract and personified - perhaps the key to the whole record. Death, however, won't be the first thing that strikes you about the group's fourth - and greatest - album to date. That instead will be its pulverising soundscape; by turns, vast, atmospheric, cool, broiling and at times - on stand out tracks like 'Sing Me To The Street' and 'Serafina' - simply overwhelming Bambara - twin brothers Reid and Blaze Bateh, singer/guitarist and drummer respectively, and bassist William Brookshire - have been evolving their midnight-black noise into something more subtle and expansive ever since the release of their 2013 debut Dreamviolence. That process greatly accelerated on 2018's Shadow On Everything, their first on New York's Wharf Cat Records and a huge stride forward for the band both lyrically and sonically. The album was rapturously received by the press, listeners and their peers. NPR called it a 'mesmerising...western, gothic opus,' Bandcamp called the "horror-house rampage" "one of the year's most gripping listens," and Alexis Marshall of Daughters named it his 'favorite record of 2018.' Shadow also garnered much acclaim on the other side of the Atlantic. Influential British 6Music DJ Steve Lamacq, dubbed them the best band of 2019's SXSW, and Joe Talbot of the UK band IDLES said, "The best thing I heard last year was easily Bambara and their album Shadow On Everything." The question was, though, how to follow it? To start, the band did what they always do: they locked themselves in their windowless Brooklyn basement to write. Decisions were made early on to try and experiment with new instrumentation and song structures, even if the resulting compositions would force the band to adapt their storied live set, known for its tenacity and technical prowess. Throughout the songwriting process, the band pulled from their deep well of creative references, drawing on the likes of Leonard Cohen, Ennio Morricone, Sade, classic French noir L'Ascenseur Pour L'Echafraud, as well as Southern Gothic stalwarts Flannery O'Connor and Harry Crews. Once the building blocks were set in place, they met with producer Drew Vandenberg, who mixed Shadow On Everything, in Athens, GA to record the foundation of Stray. After recruiting friends Adam Markiewicz (The Dreebs) on violin, Sean Smith (Klavenauts) on trumpet and a crucial blend of backing vocals by Drew Citron (Public Practice) and Anina Ivry-Block (Palberta), Bambara convened in a remote cabin in rural Georgia, where Reid laid down his vocals. The finished product represents both the band's most experimental and accessible work to date. The addition of Citron and Ivory-Block's vocals create a hauntingly beautiful contrast to Bateh's commanding baritone on tracks like 'Sing Me to the Street', 'Death Croons' and 'Stay Cruel," while the Dick Dale inspired guitar riffs on 'Serafina' and "Heat Lightning" and the call-and-response choruses throughout the album showcase Bambara's ability to write songs that immediately demand repeat listens. While the music itself is evocative and propulsive, a fever dream all of its own, the lyrical content pushes the record even further into its own darkly thrilling realm. If the songs on Shadow On Everything were like chapters in a novel, then this time they're short stories. Short stories connected by death and its effect on the characters in contact with it. 'Death is what you make it' runs a lyric in 'Sweat,' a line which may very well be the thread that ties these stories together. But it would be wrong to characterize Stray as simply the sound of the graveyard. Light frequently streams through and, whether refracted through the love and longing found on songs like 'Made for Me' or the fantastical nihilism on display in tracks like the anthemic 'Serafina,' reveals this album to be the monumental step forward that it is. Here Bambara sound like they've locked into what they were always destined to achieve, and the effect is nothing short of electrifying.

Esther Manito: Slagbomb

Esther Manito: Slagbomb

8 Jul 2025 - 27 Feb 2026

Esther’s new show ‘Slagbomb’ takes a nosedive into the awkward sandwich years of life. The phase when youthful freedom gives way to the reality of adult responsibilities. It’s a time when one finds oneself juggling everything from prostate checks to hosing faeces off the garden decking, whilst clad in questionable footwear like crocs. Growing up, Esther imagined she would fulfil all the expectations of a lady, poised and dignified, but looking around she realises that just hasn't happened. Esther's life seems to be a magnet for embarrassing moments and endless cockups. No matter how hard she tries to project sophistication, she often ends up highlighting her unrefined side. Now she wants to embrace her lack of dignity - whether it’s her less-than-graceful posture, cringeworthy encounters with shady drug dealers, or the painful realities of waxing gone wrong. At its core, Esther’s show is an exploration of the challenges and hilarities of navigating the sandwich years, and an invitation to the audience to feel good about the madness in their own lives. After all, she has a Lebanese father dealing with war, a mother dealing with cancer, two kids (who seem to have permanently lost their PE kit), a husband who just wanted some birthday nooky, and a sudden loss of hearing. It’s all part of the messy, chaotic, and often hilarious journey of a right Slagbomb.

The Burning Hell

The Burning Hell

26 Aug 2025 - 12 Sept 2025

The Burning Hell is the alter-ego of Canadian songwriter Mathias Kom, and the band has been on the road in one form or another since 2007, playing everywhere from festivals like Glastonbury and Dawson City to bars, living rooms, abandoned bunkers, and a mental asylum in rural France. Musically, The Burning Hell runs the gamut from introspective folk to hyperactive rock and roll, and so the band can adapt to its surroundings like a karma of anthropomorphic chameleons, taking the audience on a supermarket-cart ride through hooky, upbeat pop songs, dark ballads about pet euthanasia, and anthems for barbarians, economic conferences, and love.
Ever + Special Guests

Ever + Special Guests

26 Oct 2025 - 26 Oct 2025

FORM PRESENT: Ever + Special Guests EVER is an alternative rock band from North-East Lincolnshire, UK. Influenced by the grunge of Nirvana and Pearl Jam - and pumped-up by the scuzzy pop-punk of Green Day - the band built a legion of fans with a series of self-released singles throughout 2024.  With their songs grabbing the attention of people worldwide across social media and streaming platforms, the band were spotted by Grammy award winning producer Rob Cavallo. A nod of approval from the man responsible for production duties on classic albums like Dookie and The Black Parade is no mean feat, and EVER swiftly signed to Cavallo's management company. Having already landed a spot on EA sports NHL soundtrack with their debut single, the band picked up a booking agent and began to take their next steps.  Rolling on to 2025, and with appearances at the likes of Live at Leeds and Neighbourhood Festival in Manchester already under their belt, EVER have started to plot their adventures further afield. In February, the east-coast trio travelled to Los Angeles to record their debut album with Cavallo; in the summer they will appear at festivals including 2000 Trees and Liverpool Sound City. There is much, much more to come.

Graham Gouldman

28 Sept 2025 - 30 Sept 2025

It has been an eventful few years for Graham Gouldman. Not only is 10cc enjoying increasing success around the world, but recognition of his solo achievements has grown too. Being invited by Ringo Starr to join his All Starr Band for tours of Europe in June 2018 and the USA that September, during which the band played three 10cc songs, elevated his profile yet further. Another event, although not publicly known, gave Graham a further lift. It happened backstage at a festival when Robert Plant thanked him for writing one of the songs that got him through the audition to join Led Zeppelin. The song was For Your Love. Graham’s status as one of the world’s leading songwriters was acknowledged in 2014 with his induction into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame – an arm of America’s National Academy of Music. Previous inductees include Noel Coward, Irving Berlin, Burt Bacharach, Neil Sedaka, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Leonard Cohen and Sting. That was followed in 2015 by Broadcast Music Incorporated in the US anointed him an Icon of the Industry at a special ceremony in London, where he stunned the audience with an acoustic rendition of I’m Not In Love, accompanied by Lisa Stansfield on vocals. When Graham formed what became Heart Full of Songs six years ago, it was purely for the pleasure of playing his songs in their simplest form, acoustically. The format became so popular that the acoustic four-piece undertook its first concert tour in April-May 2013. The band now tours across Belgium, Germany, Holland and the UK and comprises Graham, Ciaran Jeremiah, Dave Cobby and either Iain Hornal, Nick Kendal or Andy Park, depending on their various commitments.

Gwenifer Raymond

19 Jun 2025 - 22 Nov 2025

Welsh instrumentalist Gwenifer Raymond, is set to announce her third studio album, to be released September 5th on Canadian label We Are Busy Bodies. Last Night I Heard the Dog Star Bark is a hybrid of the ancient and the futuristic, where the arcane etchings of occult folk horror fuse with the unfathomable equations of the cosmos. As celestial drones and mutant folk meet a frenetic blues that bends and twists like space-time, on her new album Raymond finds herself evoking the work of pioneering rocket scientists, the words of fictional hobo prophets and the concepts of mathematical infinity. Raymond, via the circuitous trans-Atlantic journey of her demo - signed to San Francisco’s Tompkins Square Records in 2017, with who she released her first two albums. Her first proper gig was at the Thousand Incarnations of the Rose Festival in Maryland, where she hung with heroes such as Glenn Jones, Marisa Anderson, Daniel Bachman and Peter Walker and was presented by Henry Kaiser with a 1880s Joseph Bohmann guitar which she feels may be possessed by some fingerpicking demon. The Guardian has described her as a “profound talent” whilst The Observer praised her “awe-inspiring technique and intense musicality”, and Uncut Magazine has championed her “fast-developing talents as a composer of eerie menace.” She has since toured Europe, the US and Canada with the likes of Michael Chapman, Michael Hurley, The Handsome Family, Lankum, Charlie Parr, Richard Dawson, Ryley Walker, and Squid. Presented by Love Thy Neighbour. This is an 14+ event, under 16s to be accompanied by an adult

Football Cliches Live

6 Oct 2025 - 22 Oct 2025

The podcast the streets will never forget. Since launching in 2020, the Football Clichés podcast has been on a relentless search for the true meaning of football. Why do we talk about it the way we do? Just how big is a "pocket" of space? What's the least impressive thing that football could consider "a classy touch"? Which is worse: a "carthorse" or a "donkey"? How many errors constitute "a comedy of errors"? What's the worst football action scene in cinema history? What's the most "kit launch" pose a footballer can strike?

Brian Bilston & The Catenary Wires: Sounds Made By Humans
EDGE STREET LIVE PRESENT: Brian Bilston & The Catenary Wires: Sounds Made By Humans  Brian Bilston and The Catenary Wires release ‘Sounds Made By Humans’, a new album of song-poems LP/CD/digital Skep Wax Records Release date: 9 May 2025 Soundcloud | Dropbox download Brian Bilston is one of the UK’s most popular poets. Having started out by sharing his poems online, Brian now has over half a million followers on social media and a raft of bestselling books. After a succession of sell-out live shows, Brian is on tour again in the UK (with longtime collaborator Henry Normal) in May 2025. The Catenary Wires are a group comprising Amelia Fletcher, Rob Pursey and Ian Button. Their critically acclaimed third album ‘Birling Gap’ was released in 2021. Since then, they have been focusing on their other bands, playing around the world with Heavenly (icons of the 90s indiepop scene) and Swansea Sound. A couple of years ago, word reached Rob and Amelia that Brian had been spotted wearing a Heavenly t-shirt at one of his shows, and was a big fan of their music. Given that they, in turn, were fans of Brian’s poetry, introductions were made, friendships were formed, and ‘Sounds Made By Humans’ took shape. The album isn’t a set of readings with musical backdrops: it’s a collection of songs, where words and music have become completely intertwined. There are verses, and there are choruses. There is no ‘riffing’, no improvisation. In many ways, Brian’s poems are already like pop songs: brief, direct, and witty; sometimes poignant, sometimes biting and political; but always economical, and always accessible. Rob took thirteen of Brian’s poems and created melodies and arrangements, which are then played by a full band, with Ian Button on drums and Fay Hallam on keyboard. Sometimes the words of the poems are sung by Amelia or Rob. Sometimes they are spoken by Brian. Sometimes both these things happen at once. This is a pop record where the poetry and the music are equal partners: sounds made by humans in perfect artistic alignment. Brian Bilston and The Catenary Wires will be performing song-poems at selected UK venues in November 2025 FOLLOW ON SOCIALS:  Brian Bilston:

The Golden Dregs - A Joy Of International Revue + Sophie Jamieson + Lichen (Solo)
FORM PRESENT: The Golden Dregs - A Joy of International Revue plus with very special guests Sophie Jamieson & Litchen (Solo) Founded in Falmouth, Cornwall by songwriter and producer Benjamin Woods, The Golden Dregs released two albums in quick succession—Lafayette (2018) and Hope Is For The Hopeless (2019)—before signing to 4AD for 2023’s On Grace & Dignity. With a love of storytelling delivered in a lulling baritone often compared to Leonard Cohen and Bill Callahan, Woods’ music blends sardonic wit with existential unease. As The Line of Best Fit put it, The Golden Dregs sound like “a soundtrack to happy hour in some smoke-ridden edge-of-town bar.” Now based in South London, Woods launched his own label, Joy of Life International, in 2024—a fiercely independent home for ambitious, artist-led work. The label’s ethos reflects the spirit of Godspeed, The Golden Dregs’ fourth album, released in April 2025: a record that explores stasis and adventure, dread and defiance, through collaborative arrangements and vivid, storm-laced imagery. The Joy of Life Revue brings this ethos to the stage. Featuring very special guest Sophie Jamieson and Lichen (solo), the tour is a celebration of kindred spirits and DIY community— a traveling showcase of song writing, solidarity, and strange beauty.
