Alfie Moore: A Face for Radio

Alfie Moore: A Face for Radio

17 May 2025 - 11 Jul 2025

Somewhere in a parallel universe little Alfie’s natural comedic performance skills were recognised by his doting parents who encouraged and developed his blossoming talent. After several years as a stage school brat Alfie’s angelic face was launched on stage and screen and the rest is history. Meanwhile, in this universe Alfie Moore was told to stop messing about in class before being ‘encouraged’ into the grinding, grimy world of an apprenticeship in the Sheffield steelworks. When recession hit he traded steel for copper by joining Humberside Police. In his 40s the two universes collided when Alfie made a bid for showbiz success – but unfortunately 30 years of shift-work and being punched in the face quite a lot, had left him with ‘a face for radio’. A face not so much ‘lived in’ as inhabited by a settlement of squatters with little regard to property maintenance and repair. This is the true story of ‘Fair Cop’ Alfie’s big plan to transition from the BBC radio waves to TV star. Could it be done? Or had Father Time decided that his time had passed?

Marcus Brigstocke - Vitruvian Mango
Marcus Brigstocke: Vitruvian Mango What are men for? Most heavy things can be lifted by machines and most problems can be solved by computers and most puddles can be crossed without us gallantly draping our capes over them - so are we fellas of any use at all? Award winning MAN Marcus Brigstocke thinks we might still serve some useful function. But what is it? This new tour show will resolve the entire issue once and for all (in a non-patriarchal, open minded, progressive sort of way). DaVinci’s Vitruvian Man is the image of the ideal male form. Marcus’ Vitruvian Mango is the same, but sweeter, softer, seasonally available and, when ripe, delicately perfumed. ‘... charming, hilarious and utterly refreshing…’ The Sunday Mirror ‘Sharpest one-liner merchant’ The Sunday Times ‘If you haven’t seen him live, then you haven’t seen him at his very best’ The Mirror
Rich Hall - Chin Music

Rich Hall - Chin Music

1 May 2025 - 21 Jun 2025

“Chin Music” has two meanings. One is idle talk. The other is a brushback throw in baseball or cricket to intimidate the batter. Both describe Rich Hall’s comedy. Idle but intimidating. Sharp, quick, splenetic, and sublimely improvisational. If you’ve never seen him, you need to hustle down to your local venue and grab a seat because he never disappoints. Ever.

Cara Dillon - Upon A Winter's Night

20 Dec 2025 - 20 Dec 2025

Cara Dillon, possessed of one of the most celebrated folk voices to have come out of Ireland, will be touring her annual Christmas show “Upon A Winter’s Night”. The overwhelming success of previous tours cementing this magical and memorable festive experience as a firm tradition for many years to come.  Cara and her band will once again capture the mystery of Christmas with a collection of songs ancient and modern providing a welcome reminder that the festive season can be about more than just commercialism. A far cry from “Jingle Bells” and “Santa Baby” Cara will be joined by her wonderful band who weave celtic and folksy rhythms alongside reverent and atmospheric carols while Cara holds the darkness at bay with the purity of her voice.  As modest and down to earth as they come, Cara admits to being taken aback by the success of her acclaimed Christmas album “Upon A Winter’s Night” when it reached Number 1 in the Indie Album Charts not once, but twice in 2016. With 17 dates on sale this year there’s plenty of opportunity for people to catch this uplifting and moving concert. There is another side to Christmas...far away from Bing crooning and Noddy screaming…it's a place where the story of Jesus' birth is retold with genuine wonder and celebrated with the dignity, passion and beauty it deserves. Christmas is one of Cara’s passions and her live show and album only go to prove it.  Throughout an enviable career which has seen her explore opportunities to tread many different paths – from releasing folk crossover albums on indie label Rough Trade; working on Disney soundtracks to collaborations with leading UK dance DJ/producers – Cara has continuously chosen to firmly plant herself within the landscape of her cultural heritage. She occupies a position at the very top of the Irish Folk genre. This extraordinary Irish singer has been captivating audiences, winning awards and achieving exceptional acclaim for over 20 years. She has (according to Mojo magazine) "Quite possibly the world's most beautiful female voice". “simple and stunning” - The Sunday Times  “An instant Christmas classic” - BBC  “there’s enchantment aplenty” - The Independent ★ ★ ★ ★  “A reminder of the real meaning of the Festive Season, uplifting and inspirational” - The Daily Echo
