Lanternhouse

Lanternhouse is a new performing arts centre jointly managed by North Lanarkshire Council and Cumbernauld Theatre. In October 2021, Cumbernauld Theatre Trust opened the doors of its new home, Lanternhouse with an Autumn Season of theatre, dance, music, comedy and an inclusive programme of creative learning activities. Located in the heart of Cumbernauld, on the Cumbernauld Academy campus, Lanternhouse houses two performance spaces - a 300-seat auditorium and a studio theatre, a dance studio, an 84-seat cinema, a café/bistro and has a new website: www.lanternhousearts.org.

Host of the Here Comes The Guillotine podcast alongside Frankie Boyle and Susie McCabe, star of the comedy specials Oh No and Scary Times, and host of the BBC New Comedy Award and star of Scotland Stands Up, with appearances on Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, Christopher has previously opened for comedians such as Kevin Bridges, Shane Gillis, Kerry Godliman, Jason Manford and David Cross.

In 12 years the band have over 600 gigs under their belts across the length and breadth of the UK and abroad in over twenty different countries worldwide. The band are firmly established in many of the UK's top tribute venues with repeat bookings year after year. They regularly tour Europe and have played in 22 different countries worldwide. Their adventures have lead them to appear on Sky News, BBC Radio One and Two and The Gadget Show and to have played at major festivals alongside Bob Geldof, KT Tunstall, Ringo Starr, The Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight and Roxette to name but a few. Coldplace know what is expected from a live tribute show - the accuracy, musicianship, dedication and passion for Coldplay's music. Their aim, as a tribute to one of the world's biggest bands, is to capture the feeling of a live Coldplay performance, the music, the visuals, the energy and the atmosphere. The band have extensive experience of all types of shows, from clubs to theatres, festivals to corporate functions and weddings to birthday parties. They have played for small and large crowds, from a handful of people to over 50,000. Paying homage to the greatest band in history, 'The Upbeat Beatles' take you through the whole of the Beatles' career; from the early days of 'Beatlemania' (She Loves You, I Want To Hold Your Hand) across the Atlantic to conquer the USA (Help!, Ticket To Ride), through the 'Summer of Love' and Psychedelia (Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Strawberry Fields Forever) then finally down the 'Long and Winding Road' to the end of the 1960's, for the Beatles' final live performance as a group (Get Back, Come Together). With authentic instruments, costume changes, multimedia, and featuring an ensemble cast of professional musicians with West End experience, this is a two-hour spectacular show not to be missed, for Beatles fans new and old!
