The List

Leicester Square Theatre

Leicester Square Theatre's history includes a late-70s Small Faces residency, appearances from the Rolling Stones and the Who, as well as being the venue where The Clash previewed their London Calling material. However, since re-opening in 2008, the venue has welcomes not just music, but also both big and small-name comedians -- presenting itself as one of the foremost comedy venues in the country. Its two spaces -- the main 400-seat venue and the more intimate 70-seat Lounge Theatre -- showcase comedy, cabaret, theatre and music. The theatre is two minutes' walk from Leicester Square tube station and ten minutes from Charing Cross mainline station. The nearest car parking is in the Q-Park in Chinatown -- there is no parking in Leicester Square.

Alfie Moore: Acopalypse Now

Alfie Moore: Acopalypse Now

9 May 2026 - 26 Nov 2026

The Four Horsemen of Rising Crime, Global Warming, AI and Culture Wars are galloping towards us. Are we on the road to hell? And can we avoid the potholes? In his brand new tour show 'Fair Cop' Alfie has the antidote to the breakdown of law and order, fake news and the price of baked beans. Somewhere in a parallel universe little Alfie’s natural comedic performance skills were recognised by his doting parents who encouraged and developed his blossoming talent. After several years as a stage school brat Alfie’s angelic face was launched on stage and screen and the rest is history. Meanwhile, in this universe Alfie Moore was told to stop messing about in class before being ‘encouraged’ into the grinding, grimy world of an apprenticeship in the Sheffield steelworks. When recession hit he traded steel for copper by joining Humberside Police. In his 40s the two universes collided when Alfie made a bid for showbiz success – but unfortunately 30 years of shift-work and being punched in the face quite a lot, had left him with ‘a face for radio’. A face not so much ‘lived in’ as inhabited by a settlement of squatters with little regard to property maintenance and repair.

Gary Meikle: Yer Maw

30 Apr 2026 - 2 Dec 2026

Hi guys! It’s me, Gary. These blurbs do my head in, if I’m honest. Each year I need to sit and write one out before I even know what stories I’m gonna share. So what's the new show about? I don’t know yet, but it will contain at least one 'yer maw' joke! What I do know is that it’ll be another brand-new combination of stories, opinions and observations about me and my family, as well as all of you. It's always about people and the mad things we do, sometimes animals too, but more often than not it's about people and the stupid scenarios we end up in.

You won’t believe how mad Portugal gets if you mention why it’s a super common name in Sri Lanka hehe.  Pear Tree is a stand up comedy show about pear shaped events between Sri Lanka and Australia. It’s about family, love, homes, knives, kids and cats - spliced with a bit of geopolitics and singing. As with her last show Boundaries (now on YouTube) Sashi’s signature observations remain dedicated to taking absolutely nothing too seriously.  Sashi is a Sri Lankan Australian comedian, writer and recovering lawyer. After working with refugee organisations around the globe, she moved to Melbourne to do her masters and fell arse backwards into comedy. She’s now one of Australia’s fastest rising comedians, known for her sharp wit, unique international tales and bizarre insights.  In 2023, she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Since then, she’s sold out shows in six countries, opened for Hannah Gadsby and made a slew of television appearances including Channel 10’s Have You Been Paying Attention and ABC’s Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee. Her memoir Standstill was published by Penguin Random House in August 2025.

Simon Evans: Simon Evans is Staring at the Sun
Staring at the Sun sees Simon Evans (Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Simon Evans Goes to Market, One Person Found This Helpful) squinting at an uncertain future, revisiting the blue remembered hills of his youth and trying to stay human as the world around him gets smarter. With the AI singularity looming and “reality” feeling increasingly unstable, Evans looks ahead to the coming shockwaves of technology, and back to the analogue pleasures of hitch-hiking, pub bets, and getting properly lost. Turning his famously dry, surgically precise style on the big modern questions: Are we living in a computer simulation? What happens when your body starts issuing software updates you didn’t request? And is staring straight at a solar eclipse, against expert advice, actually an act of courageous self-sacrifice on the road to true enlightenment? Part philosophical exploration, part nostalgic joyride, Staring at the Sun is a hilarious analysis of reality and trust from a man desperately trying to keep his balance while the floor keeps moving. The tone is unmistakably Evans: provocative, literate, and playfully combative, but also soaked in self-awareness. Evans draws on theories propounded by philosophers and mystics since the days of Plato and Ecclesiastes, casting himself as a public intellectual but constantly undercutting his points with brutally funny domestic truths. Simon Evans is one of the UK’s most respected and best loved comedians who has been at the top of his game for over twenty-five years. His TV credits include two appearances on BBC One’s Live at the Apollo, one on Michael McIntyre’s Roadshow, and a season of Channel 4’s Stand Up for the Week. On BBC Radio 4 his series Simon Evans Goes to Market, delighting audiences with his witty and insightful take on the comedically-unpromising territory of economics, has had six seasons. He is also a regular on Radio 4’s The News Quiz, and various other panel games, and from 1998 to 2002 wrote and hosted eight series of the news satire, The Way It Is. He also stars in One Person Found This Helpful – a Radio 4 show he co-devised with Jason Hazely and Pozzitive Productions, that has fun with on-line customer reviews and hosted Headliners – a regular preview of the following day’s newspapers with two other comedians on GB News. Evans is also in demand as a columnist and has written extensively for The Spectator, The Telegraph and Spiked.

Billy & Tim - The Young Offenders

11 Apr 2027 - 11 Apr 2027

“Force adversaries to talk and you may achieve peace.”  What happens when you lock up two sworn rivals on the day of the big match? Fireworks!!! Then something extraordinary.  Winner of the coveted Stage Award for Acting Excellence and hailed with multiple ★★★★★ reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Des Dillon’s award winning play has been touring for over 20 years and continues to resonate powerfully with contemporary audiences.  Alan Chadwick described it as “Scottish theatre’s greatest success story of recent times” while Joyce McMillan of The Scotsman called it “One of the shortest and most gripping two-hour shows in current Scottish theatre.”  While the play begins with confrontation, it evolves into something far more universal. Through blistering humour, raw energy and emotional depth, it becomes an allegory for peace processes across the world.
L’uomo Più Crudele Del Mondo

L’uomo Più Crudele Del Mondo

5 Oct 2026 - 5 Oct 2026

Inside a bare, abandoned warehouse, the powerful owner of Europe’s largest weapons company agrees to be interviewed by a young journalist. What begins as a formal conversation soon turns into a tense psychological confrontation, where roles shift, certainties collapse, and moral boundaries blur.  L'UOMO PIÙ CRUDELE DEL MONDO is a sharp, fast-paced two-hander that explores the fragile line between humanity and brutality, power and responsibility, instinct and reason. Through a relentless dialogue, the play dismantles the apparent opposition between victim and perpetrator, revealing how cruelty can hide behind respectability, silence, and success.  With a minimalist yet evocative staging, the production places the actors at the centre of an escalating battle of words and bodies. The stripped-back set and cold lighting create an unsettling atmosphere that mirrors the emotional and ethical void at the heart of the story.  Written and directed by Davide Sacco and performed by two of Italy’s most acclaimed stage and screen actors, Lino Guanciale and Francesco Montanari, the play has enjoyed major success in Italy. Its conclusion transforms the title into an open question, leaving the audience disturbed, implicated, and compelled to reflect: who is truly the cruelest man in the world?

John Mackay & Sally Homer, in association with Debi Allen/Curtis Brown, present  LAST CHANCE EVER TO SEE THE WORLD’S GREATEST LIVING WEREWOLF COMEDIAN! Stewart Lee vs The Man-Wulf Returning to Leicester Square Theatre due to popular demand! Lee shares his stage with a tough-talking werewolf comedian from the dark forests of the subconscious who hates humanity. The Man-Wulf lays down a ferocious comedy challenge to the culturally irrelevant and physically enfeebled Lee. Can the beast inside us all be silenced with the silver bullet of Lee's unprecedentedly critically acclaimed style of stand-up?  STEWART LEE ("the world's greatest living stand-up comedian" The Times), is in danger of being left behind. He's approaching sixty with debilitating health conditions, his TV profile has diminished and his once BAFTA award-winning style of stand-up seems obsolete in the face of a wave of callous Netflix-endorsed comedy of anger, monetising the denigration of minorities for millions of dollars. But can Lee unleash his inner Man-Wulf to position himself alongside comedy legends like Dave Chappelle, Ricky Gervais and Jordan Peterson at the forefront of side-splitting stadium-stuffing shit-posting? _ARTWORK BY MARK REYNOLDS_

Reuben Solo - Someone In This Crowd Will Betray Me
I've got a terrible feeling about this show. Like, somehow the whole thing is doomed. I've got this recurring dream where I'm on stage, thousands of miles from home and the crowd has turned on me. There are thousands of them and they are all booing me and Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) is there, and so is Simon Cowell and he's slamming his fist into a red buzzer and the sound splits the air like a gunshot and the ceiling rips open and confetti rains down like debris but the booing only gets louder and louder and louder and louder and then I wake up. And ! realise that all of that actually happened to me.
