Lindsey Burrow is a mum of three, a full time NHS physiotherapist, and the devoted wife of the late Rob Burrow, whose courage in the face of MND touched hearts across the nation. While the world saw the public battle, Lindsey lived the private one — balancing motherhood, her demanding work, and the extraordinary care she gave to Rob throughout his illness. Her story is not one of perfection, but of perseverance. Of love expressed through action. Of finding a way forward on the hardest days. Of holding a family together while the world watched a hero fade. And somehow, through it all, she continued to show up. The much-loved entertainer is on tour throughout 2026 with his solo show ‘An Evening with Jimmy Tarbuck’ which stops off at some of his favourite towns and venues in the UK. And he can’t wait. The crowds are always on great form and always ready to laugh. And laughter is the only drug I’ve ever needed!” ‘An Evening with Jimmy Tarbuck’ will see the acclaimed comedian and raconteur reflecting on a remarkable life in showbusiness, the seeds of which were sown in childhood. Jimmy will present a hugely entertaining mix of anecdotes and jokes, including recollections of his many years presenting Sunday Night at the London Palladium which shot him to fame in 1963. There will also be stories from Jimmy’s childhood, growing up in Liverpool where he was classmates - and good mates - with John Lennon. And of course, his golfing life, which has proved to be a rich source of entertainment and celebrity both on and off the course. Jimmy’s incredible career has taken him around the world, mixing and befriending the biggest stars in entertainment and sport: he’s played golf with Arnold Palmer, football with Bobby Moore, sang with Tom Jones, partied with Parky and Lynchy, drank with Frank (Sinatra) and sipped champagne with Cilla; and he treasures his time working with the legendary Judy Garland, who affectionately called him her ‘Little Man’. Fans will be treated to all these anecdotes and more, by one of our true national treasures.

Simon Evans: Staring At The Sun

14 Nov 2026 - 14 Nov 2026

Simon Evans is Staring at the Sun Simon Evans is Back! Waaaay back... With growing evidence that we are living in a Computer Simulation - and a pretty glitchy, off-brand simulation at that - and the approaching watershed of the AI Singularity looming like a weirdly pixelated cumulo-nimbus on the horizon, BBC Radio 4 stalwart and veteran of a quarter century of highly acclaimed stand-up comedy Simon Evans is squinting at an uncertain future, and revisiting the blue remembered hills of his youth. The analogue world of hitch-hiking, pub bets and hedge porn. Of being able to get properly lost. And also pondering the great thinkers and mystics of the past who had, it seems, the same doubts and misgivings about “reality”, back when an adjustable sandal passed for cutting-edge tech. The Ladyboys Of Bangkok: Full Moon

The Ladyboys Of Bangkok: Full Moon

28 Sept 2026 - 28 Sept 2026

There’s an ancient belief across Southeast Asia that the full moon marks a time of renewal - a time when old energy washes away and new dreams come into focus. Under its silver light, people gather, celebrate, express themselves, and release what no longer serves them. That spirit runs through every beat of the Ladyboys’ brand-new production. Full Moon 2026 guides audiences on a journey across Thailand’s most iconic celebrations - from moonlit beaches buzzing with tropical beats to neon-lit Bangkok streets alive with music, fire, and unstoppable energy. It’s a show that captures the heartbeat of a culture where colour meets courage, where beauty meets boldness, and where identity shines without apology. It’s also a tribute to the performers themselves - glamorous, charismatic, fearless entertainers who have inspired audiences all over the world. Their stories of ambition and authenticity are woven into the show’s emotional core, reminding us all that becoming who you are is the greatest performance of all. This year’s production is more than glitz and sequins (though there’s no shortage of those!) - it’s a celebration of liberation, pride, and the unstoppable power of self-expression. A Show Packed with Dazzling Performance & Unforgettable Moments. As always, the Ladyboys bring their signature blend of glamour, comedy, dance, and show-stopping music - but Full Moon takes everything to a cosmic new level.

His work with the fusion band Electromagnets earned them the nickname “the Mahavishnu Orchestra of Texas,” and set the stage for his breakthrough. Johnson’s 1986 debut Tones announced the arrival of a fully formed master, earning a Guitar Player cover, a Grammy nomination, and critical raves. He reached global acclaim with the platinum-selling Ah Via Musicom and its iconic, Grammy-winning instrumental “Cliffs of Dover.” Since then, Johnson has amassed eight Grammy nominations, released seventeen solo albums, collaborated with artists such as Mike Stern, Joe Satriani, and Steve Vai, and been inducted into multiple halls of fame. A dynamic songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, Johnson continues to evolve, touring internationally with his Texaphonic power-trio project. As he puts it, “It really boils down to the music and the song”-a philosophy that has fueled one of the most inspired and enduring careers in modern guitar history.

BAD CO - Legacy

BAD CO - Legacy

4 Sept 2026 - 4 Sept 2026

Bad Company formed in London in 1973 by singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke (both ex-Free), guitarist Mick Ralphs (ex-Mott the Hoople) and bassist Boz Burrell (ex-King Crimson). Kirke was the only member to remain throughout the band’s entire run, while he and Ralphs were the only members to appear on every studio album. Peter Grant, who managed the rock band Led Zeppelin, also managed Bad Company until 1982. Bad Company enjoyed great success throughout the 1970s. Their first three albums, Bad Company (1974), Straight Shooter (1975) and Run with the Pack (1976), reached the top five in the album charts in both the UK and the US. Many of their singles and songs, such as “Bad Company”, “Can’t Get Enough” (1974), “Feel Like Makin’ Love” (1975), “Shooting Star” (1975), “Burnin’ Sky” (1977) and “Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy” (1979), remain staples of classic rock radio. They have sold 20 million RIAA-certified albums in the US and 40 million worldwide. Though they initially disbanded in 1982, Bad Company reunited on many occasions to record and tour until 2019. In 2023, Kirke revealed that they would not continue as a band following the development of Rodgers’ recent health issues. Earlier this year Bad Co was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Enter BAD CO - The Legacy For seven years Robert Hart was the lead singer of Bad Co in its classic rock era. He has also played many years with The Jones Gang with Kenny Jones of The Faces. and currently with Manfred Mann’s Earthband. Dave ‘Bucket’ Colwell, guitarist, spent 12 years in Bad Co, was a member of Humble Pie for several years recording, co-writing and producing the album Back on Track, The Jones Gang, ASAP and many other bands. During 1992, Hart was approached by Mick Ralphs and Simon Kirke and asked if he would like to join them as the third lead vocalist for Bad Company, following Paul Rodgers and Brian Howe. Hart performed with Bad Company, touring the world including the US and Canada. In July 1994 a contract was drawn up by Alliance Artists and Legend Management and signed by the then Bad Company line up, Mick Ralphs, Simon Kirke, Robert Hart, Dave “Bucket” Colwell and Rick Wills. In 1995 a self-produced Bad Company album was released, Company of Strangers, with Hart who bore a vocal similarity to Paul Rodgers. It contained four tracks self-penned or co-written by Hart. The band made a promotional tour of the US with Bon Jovi. In 1996 another Bad Co album, Stories Told and Untold featured Hart and contained seven new compositions and seven acoustic versions including ‘Can’t Get Enough’ and ‘Ready For Love’. Hart was also lead vocalist on three live albums between 1994 and 2001. In March 2020 he was on tour in Germany with “Rock meets Classic” featuring Alice Cooper. During the Brian Howe period the album, Holy Water, was released. The album was enormously successful both critically and commercially, attaining Top 40 and platinum status by selling more than one million copies. Holy Water was the band’s first album on the Atlantic subsidiary Atco. The album spun off the singles: “If You Needed Somebody” the title track “Holy Water” and “Walk Through Fire”. “Holy Water” also hit No. 1 for 2 weeks on the AOR charts with “If You Needed Somebody” reaching No. 2. In 1990 Dave “Bucket” Colwell joined Bad Co as guitarist at the request of Mick Ralphs who sat out for most of the Holy Water tour. Their subsequent tour, supported by Damn Yankees, was one of the top five grossing tours of 1991. As well as touring for over a decade, Colwell recorded Here Comes Trouble, What You Hear is What You Get, Company of Strangers and Stories Told and Untold, co-writing the last two. He then went on to record Merchants of Cool with Paul Rodgers in 2002. Hart and Colwell are joined by Pat Davey, on bass, Paul Young and Cregan & Co, and John Lingwood, Manfred Mann’s Earthband and Roger Chapman, on drums. Fans can expect many of the classic songs spanning Bad Company’s repertoire; ‘Ready for Love’, ‘Can’t get Enough’, ‘Rock and Roll Fantasy’, the list goes on. It promises to be a night to remember!

Still loved for their total in-yer-face originality, the contrast between the deadpan humour of Barrett and mad onstage antics of Otway are hilarious to watch. John’s lyrical genius is ably complimented by Willy’s outstanding musicianship (he seems to play almost every stringed instrument known to man, plus a few hybrids of his own making including the Bagpuss!) For any Otway/Barrett virgins out there who don’t know what to expect, be prepared for everything from bare-chested theremin playing to wah wah wheelie bin as the duo jump from one hit and 40 near misses to another: An amazing and irreverent performance by two master entertainers.

A foreigners journey ..... Heading in your direction! Legendary bands Foreigner and Journey are giants of the AOR (Adult Orientated Rock) and Classic Rock genres, attracting huge audiences as live acts since forming in the 1970’s. The two bands have achieved massive commercial and critical success and both sold in excess of 80 million albums, with their supreme musical quality ensuring that they’ve never been victims of trends or passing fashions, and even their earliest hits are still being played on radio shows worldwide every day. Sadly for those in the UK, their shows over here have been few and far between, and most fans of their music have not experienced the thrill of hearing it played live. Thankfully, however, the next best thing is here in the shape of the award-winning band A FOREIGNERS JOURNEY. A Foreigners Journey proudly won both the “UK’s Number 1 Tribute to Foreigner” and the “UK’s Number 1 Tribute to Journey” awards at the National Tribute Music Awards. Their talent has also been acknowledged by Jeff Pilson, bass player of Foreigner, who said “Check out this amazing band, they rock!” They have toured throughout the UK and Europe for the last 12 years, headlined a number of festivals and played to packed theaters and venues, safely establishing themselves as one of the most respected and known tribute shows around. Featuring the incredible vocals and stage presence of Adam J Oades, and cherry picking the very best and most iconic songs from each of the two bands, to create a carefully balanced set- list, including bonafide rock classics such as the massive anthem Don’t Stop Believin’, Cold As Ice, Separate Ways, Juke Box Hero, Feels Like The First Time, to gentler power ballads like the hits I Want To Know What Love Is, Faithfully, Waiting For A Girl Like You, Open Arms and many more, A Foreigners Journey take things far beyond a mere ‘tribute act’ and turn their show into a living, breathing and powerful experience. Ian Danter of Planet Rock summed up their show in his review “Great mix of classic songs delivered impeccably” It is guaranteed to be an evening to remember and a real treat for all those who love quality, commercial rock, performed with passion. The Arts Society Fylde Lecture

7 Jul 2026 - 7 Jul 2026

The Influence of Music on Edward Burra Tuesday 7 July 2026 at 2.00 pm at the Lowther Pavilion. Guests may attend the lecture - £10 pp (pay on door) Lecturer: Catherine Tackley Professor Catherine Tackley (née Parsonage) is an internationally recognised musicologist, specialising in jazz. The lectures that Catherine offers for The Arts Society are all based on her original scholarship and informed by her teaching experience at Leeds Conservatoire, The Open University and now at the University of Liverpool (where she was Head of the Music Department from 2016-2022), as well as numerous high-profile public talks and media appearances (BBC Radio 3 and 4; BBC television) over more than two decades. Catherine has written two books - ‘The Evolution of Jazz in Britain: c.1880-1935‘ and ‘Benny Goodman’s Famous 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert‘ - and co-edited ‘Black British Jazz: Routes, Ownership and Performance‘. In 2018, Catherine curated ‘Rhythm and Reaction: The Age of Jazz in Britain for The Arts Society‘, an acclaimed exhibition in London based on her research. In recognition of this and her work with many other organisations, Catherine won ‘Outstanding Contribution to Public Engagement’ in the University of Liverpool’s Staff Awards in 2019. She is active as a musician, including directing Dr Jazz and the Cheshire Cats Big Band. More information is available here. The Lecture: Music played an important if perhaps underappreciated role in Edward Burra’s life and work. Although the impact of Burra’s visits to Harlem and Boston where he encountered African American music first-hand has an obvious correlation with his artistic output, this talk also explores his record collection, held in the Tate’s archives, which is perhaps uniquely revealing not only of his musical preferences but also aspects of his personality. The Mirror Crack’d

The Mirror Crack’d

15 Jul 2026 - 18 Jul 2026

Fylde Coast Players are delighted to bring Britain’s favourite detective back to the Lowther Pavilion main stage with a presentation of Rachel Wagstaff’s new and exciting adaptation of an Agatha Christie classic - The Mirror Crack’d . The action takes place around Miss Marple’s home village of St Mary Mead and a nearby film studio. In true Christie style the plot hosts and eclectic mixture of characters from the doughty and determined Jane Marple, a variety of eccentric locals, a Scotland Yard detective and finally through to a Hollywood star and associated film crew. It’s Christie - so not everyone is who they seem to be, and hidden identities and motives are revealed as the story unfolds in a web of lies, tragedy and danger. This new adaptation by Rachel Wagstaff (Da Vinci code, Flowers for Mrs Harris, The Girl on the Train) is dynamic and fast paced and thoroughly entertaining. Keep up with the plot and avoid the red herrings as the bodies pile up for an unforgettable evening
