Last Night from Glasgow presents two of its finest acts
The Bathers:
The Bathers are a Scottish chamber-pop band from Glasgow formed in 1985, best known as the long-running musical vehicle of singer-songwriter Chris Thomson. Their debut album Unusual Places To Die was released in 1987 to critical acclaim. The band went on to Island Records to release Sweet Deceit (1990) then found a home at German label Marina Records to release fan-favourites Lagoon Blues (1993), Sunpowder (1995) and Kelvingrove Baby (1997). The Bathers continued to release albums with a varying line up until splitting in 2001. In 2016, the band reunited to play Celtic Connections and began to work together again on various projects including writing new music. The Bathers joined LNFG as the label began to reissue previous works as well as releasing the bands first album of new material in two decades Sirenesque (2023).

Wojtek the bear:
wojtek the bear are a Scottish indie-pop band from Glasgow. They take their name from the legendary brown bear Wojtek, a mascot and honorary soldier in the Polish Army during World War II. The band formed in 2016 and their debut album a talent for being unreasonable was
released in 2018, followed by heaven by the backdoor in 2021. The bands sound blends a classic indie sound with elements of jangle-pop and folk songwriting. Continuing their evolution, the band released shaking hands with the NME in 2024, recorded with legendary producer
Stephen Street, known for his work with The Smiths and Blur. Most recent release - upcoming 2026 album: In Spring 2026, the band are set to release new album i dont think you dont want to hear this. The upcoming 11-track album was recorded with renowned producer Bill Ryder-Jones at Beetroot Studios. It is available to pre-order now on vinyl and CD formats. Debut single Kylies put a curse on us is out now. The band provide insight into the release: We recorded the single as part of the sessions for the new album with Bill Ryder-Jones at Beetroot Studios in Airdrie. We were really excited to work with Bill as we're huge fans of his records and his style of production, and luckily we hit it off pretty much immediately. So much so that when we'd finished it felt like we'd just been having a carry-on with our pals for a few weeks and had somehow managed to record an album by mistake. The title is obviously a nod to the Gerry Love song "Kylie's got a crush on us" and it just so happened that Bill had been working recently with Gerry on a record, so we invited him over to the studio while we were recording for him to hear the song and thankfully he gave us his blessing, and even recorded some handclaps on the album. In terms of the lyrical content of the song, it's a fictional tale about an extremely over-zealous fan of Kylie who writes to and pesters her so much to the point that she can't get rid of them, so she decides to take matters into her own hands and puts a voodoo curse on the person to try and get rid of them!" Since releasing their debut wojtek the bear have played across the UK and Europe, gathering praise from listeners and press alike. The band have been featured in publications such as The Scotsman, The Herald, Clash Music and Snack Mag. They have been played across BBC 6Music, BBC Radio 1, KEXP and more. Their most recent album shaking hands with the NME reached #2 in the Indie Breaker Chart, #5 in the Scottish Album Chart, #16 in the UK Vinyl Chart and #28 in the UK Physical Album Chart
