The Completes, as they are affectionately referenced to by their fans, play to acclaim both from fans themselves, the press, and even original Stone Roses band members. Former Stone Roses bass player Mani, has not only just appeared as a warm up DJ for the band on the odd occasion but has also played onstage with them as their guest bassist playing She Bangs The Drums on more than a few times when he was touring about with the band. John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett

John Otway & Wild Willy Barrett

17 Apr 2026 - 17 Apr 2026

On Friday 20 April, 1973 the first John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett single, Murder Man, was released on Track Records, home of Jimi Hendrix, Thunderclap Newman and The Who, and produced by The Whos Pete Townshend at his own Eel Pie studios. Despite the involvement of one of the biggest rock stars of the time, the record failed to trouble the chart compiler, so the pair split. Otway and Barrett initially met in Aylesbury as schoolboys. Nine years later, Barrett had become Aylesburys most promising multi-instrumentalist and was running the town's folk club. Otway succeeded in getting an unpaid floor spot and was allowed to return on a semi-regular basis. A fortune teller predicted that John would enjoy huge success with a blonde-haired musician'. Contacting the only blonde musician he knew, Otway persuaded Barrett to do some recording and a show together. Almost inevitably, they split up before theyd even appeared together. Otways wild, chaotic solo set emptied the hall; Willys tuneful and inventive set re-filled it.. so he refused to allow Otway back for the scheduled duo set, vowing to never work with him again. Forward to 1977. With punk in the ascendance, Willy thought Otways wild performances, elementary guitar skills and terrible voice might now work. He was right - the duo developed a following on the pub rock circuit and were invited to appear on the Old Grey Whistle Test. Johns performance on the show is now legendary. Five million watched what has since been voted one of the worst ever moments on television. Yet Within two weeks of the leaping Otway landing on his testicles astride Barretts amplifier, the duo were in the charts and on Top Of The Pops (introduced by Elton John) with their single: Cor Baby Thats Really Free. Since then Otway and Barrett have regrouped, fallen out, and split more times than a curdled sauce. One tour was even titled The Incompatible Otway And Barrett. I think hes genuinely fascinated by what I do said Otway of Wild Willy but totally horrified at the damage it does to his reputation as a musician. Willy countered I do rather find that performing alongside his imbecilic antics distracts from the music Im playing. Im a little bit more tolerant of him now but it used to really cut to the quick in the early days. Yet here they are, celebrating over 50 years of attempted escapes and still loved for their in-yer-face originality. Older but wiser, the contrast between the deadpan humour of Barrett and mad onstage antics of Otway are hilarious to watch. Audiences should be prepared for everything from bare-chested theremin playing to wah wah wheelie bin as the duo jump from one hit and 40 near misses to another. An amazing and irreverent performance by two master entertainers.

Furthermore, they are described as "the best SAHB tribute band out there", by Zal Cleminson himself. 2025 is an anniversary for the band which coincides with the 50 year anniversary of the release of the legendary SAHB 'Live' album. SAHE will play all songs from the album as part of their 2025/26 set. The fact that they also have the nod from kin of the late, great and sadly missed Alex Harvey (My dad would have approved" -Alex Harvey Jr.) is another pointer to the combined talents of vocalist Andy Massie, keyboardist David Cowan, guitarist Rob Jones, bass player Nelson McFarlane and drummer Chris Killen. The original SAHB bass player (Chris Glen) has also shared the stage with SAHE and said "they are the best SAHB since SAHB!" Recording and releasing new licenced versions of classic numbers is an innovative approach for a tribute band but one that has been welcomed by SAHB aficionados of old, and new fans picked up 'on the road. But then, the Sensational Alex Harvey Experience are first and foremost SAHB fans themselves, dedicated to keeping both the music, and the theatrics, alive. The Sensational Alex Harvey Experience has already toured extensively throughout the UK to great receptions and are regular headliners at the annual SAHBROCK Charity event in Glasgow which benefits the Glasgow Sick Childrens Hospital. The Filthy Tongues

The Filthy Tongues

3 Apr 2026 - 3 Apr 2026

Having once provided musical props to the sparkling Shirley Mansun in Goodbye Mr McKenzie the pedigree of these Scottish post post punk craftsmen of gnarled song is immense. And zeitgeist wise they've always been plugged right in, just now they have co -written 4 of the 11 songs on the new SKIDS album with singer Richard Jobson including BBC 6Music 'turntable smash' 'Kings Of The New World Order' and the title track of the LP 'Burning Cities' The Tongues get filthy with suitably dirty post punk and grinding poetic folk rock oft times replete with fiddles and tings.... Nick Cave might be a lazy comparison but actually has far more in common with Crime And The City Solution and if you want supercool '80s indie associations. Scots accent thoroughly, agreeably intact as tales of woe and wonder are wondrously woven. Nice. With their own new album 'Jacob's Ladder' about to emerge this is what God is in the TV had to say These songs wrap themselves around you like a warm blanket and effortlessly soothe your soul. Sister Witch- Nice and slinky sleazoid rocknroll with high glamour quotient from former Rachel Stamp main man David Ryder Prangley and the lusciously louche lady (soz) upfront Lux Lyall- or as they put it 'A daemon baby doll Bonnie Parker, dragging her feet back home after an all night bender in Zelda Sayres skin. Lungs full of laudanum, lovelorn, lost. Dolly Haze broken vocals, accompanied by restless drumbeats and guitars that roll their eyes at the attempt of vengeance. Alongside a quiet but calculating Warhol cult leader.' Not many. Marc Hepburn-Bouncy, hook-laden pop blues , cut from similar cloth to Paulo Nuttini and Imelda May but with a sassy 1950's element embracing Ray Charles, Little Richard and Larry Williams , great stuff.

Last Night From Glasgow presents The Bathers and Wojtek The Bear
Last Night from Glasgow presents two of its finest acts The Bathers: The Bathers are a Scottish chamber-pop band from Glasgow formed in 1985, best known as the long-running musical vehicle of singer-songwriter Chris Thomson. Their debut album Unusual Places To Die was released in 1987 to critical acclaim. The band went on to Island Records to release Sweet Deceit (1990) then found a home at German label Marina Records to release fan-favourites Lagoon Blues (1993), Sunpowder (1995) and Kelvingrove Baby (1997). The Bathers continued to release albums with a varying line up until splitting in 2001. In 2016, the band reunited to play Celtic Connections and began to work together again on various projects including writing new music. The Bathers joined LNFG as the label began to reissue previous works as well as releasing the bands first album of new material in two decades Sirenesque (2023). Most recent release - Pandemonia re-issue: To celebrate the 25th anniversary of 1999 masterpiece Pandemonia, this special album is now available on vinyl for the very first time, plus CD and digital formats. Lovingly remastered and repackaged with brand new artwork, this 19-track cult classic shimmers as it did over two decades ago. Originally released to critical acclaim and long revered by fans, Pandemonia showcases the bands lush, cinematic sound led by frontman Chris Thomsons unmistakable baritone. Now fully remastered by Paul McGeechan under the supervision of Thomson himself, this 2025 reissue displays Pandemonia with new clarity, giving longtime fans and new listeners alike the chance to experience The Bathers in new light. The album features guest appearances from Belle & Sebastians Isobel Campbell and Richard Colburn. Plus Catherine Leroy, Mario Caribe, Neil Cameron and Bathers regulars Callum McNair, Hazel Morrison, Robert Henderson, Barry Overstreet & Iain White Released across two discs, Pandemonia is available on both Burgundy vinyl and Ochre vinyl, pressed at Seabass Vinyl in Tranent. The Bathers LNFG releases: 2022 Summer Lightning (alternate versions and unreleased tracks) 2023 Unusual Places to Die (reissue) 2023 - Sirenesque (new album) 2025 - Pandemonia (reissue) Wojtek the bear: wojtek the bear are a Scottish indie-pop band from Glasgow. They take their name from the legendary brown bear Wojtek, a mascot and honorary soldier in the Polish Army during World War II. The band formed in 2016 and their debut album a talent for being unreasonable was released in 2018, followed by heaven by the backdoor in 2021. The bands sound blends a classic indie sound with elements of jangle-pop and folk songwriting. Continuing their evolution, the band released shaking hands with the NME in 2024, recorded with legendary producer Stephen Street, known for his work with The Smiths and Blur. Most recent release - upcoming 2026 album: In Spring 2026, the band are set to release new album i dont think you dont want to hear this. The upcoming 11-track album was recorded with renowned producer Bill Ryder-Jones at Beetroot Studios. It is available to pre-order now on vinyl and CD formats. Debut single Kylies put a curse on us is out now. The band provide insight into the release: We recorded the single as part of the sessions for the new album with Bill Ryder-Jones at Beetroot Studios in Airdrie. We were really excited to work with Bill as we're huge fans of his records and his style of production, and luckily we hit it off pretty much immediately. So much so that when we'd finished it felt like we'd just been having a carry-on with our pals for a few weeks and had somehow managed to record an album by mistake. The title is obviously a nod to the Gerry Love song "Kylie's got a crush on us" and it just so happened that Bill had been working recently with Gerry on a record, so we invited him over to the studio while we were recording for him to hear the song and thankfully he gave us his blessing, and even recorded some handclaps on the album. In terms of the lyrical content of the song, it's a fictional tale about an extremely over-zealous fan of Kylie who writes to and pesters her so much to the point that she can't get rid of them, so she decides to take matters into her own hands and puts a voodoo curse on the person to try and get rid of them!" Since releasing their debut wojtek the bear have played across the UK and Europe, gathering praise from listeners and press alike. The band have been featured in publications such as The Scotsman, The Herald, Clash Music and Snack Mag. They have been played across BBC 6Music, BBC Radio 1, KEXP and more. Their most recent album shaking hands with the NME reached #2 in the Indie Breaker Chart, #5 in the Scottish Album Chart, #16 in the UK Vinyl Chart and #28 in the UK Physical Album Chart Wojtek the bear LNFG releases: 2021 - heaven by the back door 2024 - shaking hands with the NME 2026 - i dont think you want to hear this

QFX: QFX the band was founded in the small town of Hawick on the Scottish Borders by music producer & song writer Kirk Turnbull in Feb of 1992. The Band quickly found a following in the Scottish Dance Music Scene throughout 1992 starting to play live at night clubs and music venues throughout Scotland and the Northeast of England. They found great support from Forth Radio DJ Legend Tom Wilson supporting the band's music on his Stepping Out Show. The Band's following grew very fast and they were soon performing 3 to 4 events a week as the UK Dance scene exploded. The media called it Rave, but this was not accurate since QFX music was so much more. Natasha Tee: Natasha is Fifes answer to dynamite. Having released her 1st dance single on the QFX Label Epidemic in 2025 a cover of 4 Non Blondes What's Up which entered the iTunes UK top 40 at 23 mid week and has given her a nomination for Scotland's best new dance artist of 2025 and gained huge credibility all over the world :-) 2026 will see Natasha releasing three new tracks in 2026 on the Epidemic Records Label. Her 1st track of 2026 is a co-written track with Dj David Moralee and Kirk Turnbull and is an absolute stormer of a track based on the sound of faithless insomnia but with lyrics by Natasha and music by David & Kirk this one is going to be a massive track in 2026. DJ Paul Raynor: Hawick DJ Paul Raynor is back for his second support slot at the QFX MacArts event. Paul who is a Hawick DJ and played an absolute banging set that had the crowd at MacArts going mental last June is back for an extended set this June and promises to pull out all the stops :)

Simon Yates of Touching the Void Pleasure and Pain
Simon Yates of Touching the Void returns to Mac Arts, Galashiels with his new talk Pleasure and Pain! Touching the Void mountaineer Simon Yates is a veteran of over eighty expeditions to high and remote mountains around the globe. Now in his sixties, he is showing no signs of slowing down! This is his story of the last decade, of new adventures and climbs in the far north and south, along with summits in South America, Central Asia and the Himalayas. In 2023, Simon travelled with legendary British mountaineer Mick Fowler to attempt the unclimbed north face of Patkhor in Tajikistan. Their trip ran smoothly until the first evening on the mountain when they both contracted food poisoning from their freeze-dried food. After some debate, they continued, but this was just the beginning of a series of events that would see them run out of food, retreat below the summit in a storm, and Simon taking a bone-breaking 100m fall during the descent. After two days of lying on the glacier waiting for a helicopter, rescuers finally arrived but were unable to carry Simon down. Somehow, he would need to summon the energy for the painful three-day walk to safety.

I sing covers and Im currently attempting writing originals. Its hard but Ill get there, in the meantime I take song recommendations from friends and family so I can play what they want to hear. Mixed signals We are a small band based Scottish borders. We have lead singer Antigone and guitarist Alex. We take inspiration from artists such as 5 seconds of summer, waterparks, blink - 182 and many more artists to perform covers and compose original songs. Dylan Wilson: Dylan Wilsons live show is a musical experience with the emphasis on experience. Soaring to heights hitherto undiscovered by humanity one minute, and completely falling apart the next. Thats life. Thats rock n roll, and that is Dylan Wilson. Kalamity: They may shock you with whatever song is next on their setlist, but Kalamity always makes it their own and brings the vibe back to rock n roll, making it seem like even a pop song belongs in the rock genre. They pull inspiration from a selection of bands such as ACDC, Paramore and Mneskin. A night spent with Kalamity is like a Time Machine of music. Join them in every era and rock on.
