Steve is now performing with his new band Slice Of Life. A far cry from the aggression of Crass, nevertheless compelling with powerful songs delivered in an acoustic style. Impossible to categorise, Slice Of Life's music is up-front and soul-baringly personal. It's a mixture of songs and spoken word that draws you in and stays with you long after the final note has been played. Debut album Love And A Lamp-post was released on Overground records in late 2014, surprising many with its honesty and change of style for Steve. Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC, with 18 distinctions. Chantel then pursued further education and left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award. Chantel released her highly anticipated second album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, this being the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other.

The K’s: Jamie Boyle (vocals/guitar); Ryan Breslin (guitar); Dexter Baker (bass); Jordan Holden (drums). These four young men are a word-of-mouth phenomenon that’s rapidly becoming too huge to ignore. On the surface, the appeal of The K’s seems simple: embodying the relatable frustrations of everyday Britain and its zero hours economy, yearning for a better life in escapist anthems like epic next single Landmines and breakthrough tune Glass Towns. But if creating timeless thrills really was so simple, other bands would rack up so many streams and routinely sell out tours, thanks to the frenzied fan community the band has nurtured. Their gigs are a guaranteed riot, but that shouldn’t overlook the sophistication that gives The K’s the immediately identifiable blueprint all special bands soon develop. Debut single Sarajevo is one of the few rock & roll songs to namecheck Austro-Hungary, notching up over 1.5 million streams in the process.

Pygmy Twylyte Perform the Music of Frank Zappa
So prolific was Frank Zappa's output, that it is nearly impossible to present a representative sample of his work in just one concert. Over the course of his life, and since his death in 1993, over one hundred official Zappa albums have been released, alongside countless bootlegs. These range from 60s psychedelia with the Mothers of Invention, Jazz and Rock material tinged with Zappas own inimitable spin, through to orchestral compositions performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, among others. Navigating the vast Zappa oeuvre then is no mean feat, but Scotlands Pygmy Twylyte have embraced the challenge with gusto. Since their inception in 2018, the band have selected a core body of classic material, complemented with a rotating offering of more obscure cuts, and blasted this to delighted audiences across the UK. With guitars, keyboards, saxes and multiple vocalists at their disposal, the band has a (stink)foot planted in the camp of several of Zappas most memorable touring line-ups. Head down to nod along to rock numbers, lose count during jazzy interludes (after all, its not dead it just smells funny) and evade the infamous Frunobulax!
The Blow Monkeys

The Blow Monkeys

9 Oct 2025 - 24 Oct 2025

With hits like ‘Digging Your Scene’ and ‘It Doesn’t Have To Be This Way’, The Blow Monkeys epitomised the glamour of mid-80s pop at its most graceful and sophisticated. In the band’s frontman Robert Howard (aka Dr. Robert), they possessed a tall, charismatic singer who was both camera-friendly and clever, who appeared to be just as much at ease on the catwalk that is pop’s conveyor belt as he was penning witty, incisive songs. While quite clearly Robert’s band, though, the Blow Monkeys were also gifted three immensely talented musicians in bassist Mick Anker (he of the trademark bowler hat), saxophonist Neville Henry and drummer Tony Kiley. Behind the band’s stylish veneer lay something else, which became increasingly apparent from Robert’s lyrics. While some of the Smash Hits generation avoided politics with a capital P, The Blow Monkeys openly criticised the policies of the Conservative government, railing against social injustices and adopting an openly left-of-centre stance on issues of the day. From openly endorsing the gay community “Digging Your Scene” to an outright attack on Margaret Thatcher ‘Celebrate (The Day After You)’ – a duet with the late, great Curtis Mayfield, The Blow Monkeys were always the thinking person’s pop group. As the 1980s progressed, so too did the band’s musical style, from a sound once dubbed “jazz punk” by Robert to a more soulful, jazzy style and an ever-increasing adoption of dance music. The Blow Monkeys of their rare, indie debut single ‘Live Today Love Tomorrow’ (recorded on a shoestring in 1981) would be barely recognisable to those who bought the Balearic remix of ‘La Passionara’ from 1990. And yet a soulful, spiritually uplifting strain has continued to run through their music – and, indeed, that of Robert’s solo recordings – to this day.

They agreed to do the gig as a ‘one off’ for nostalgia’s sake. The show was a huge success and they again found their passion for Erasure music, and started touring again, with new technology and new outfits!

They were popular during the late 1970s and early 1980s, a period when lots of similar ska bands filled the charts. Some of their hits include 'My Girl Lollipop', 'Lip Up Fatty', 'Special Brew' and 'Ne-Ne-Na-Na-Na-Na-Nu-Nu'. One of the main reasons for their notoriety was because of their outlandish, larger-than-life, huge-tongued & shaven-headed front man. Buster´s exploits got them banned from the British TV chart show Top of the Pops (which included dressing as Henry VIII and singing to a blow-up doll for the song 'Lorraine', pouring a large can of baked beans over his head, and dressing in a can-can dancer´s dress to promote their single 'Can-Can').

Goldie Lookin' Chain

5 Sept 2025 - 19 Dec 2025

Coming straight out of Newport The GLC are officially Britain’s biggest rap group. Known for classics like “Guns don’t kill people rappers do”, The GLC started almost by accident around the turn of the century with Eggsy’s impromptu rap about his tracksuit over a serious piece of music Rhys was working on in the studio. Adam Hussain, Billy Webb, Mystkal, the Maggot, 2hats and Mike Balls convinced Rhys to record the rap. Fuelled by Lambrini, fags, Chicken Tikka Massala and weed they all took to the mic and The GLC’s first album “Don’t Blame the Chain” was born. And so it began, the journey which has so far seen The GLC rise to the top of the charts, perform around the world and at every major festival in the Western Hemisphere and make millions of people laugh along the way. Now many years since that first rap about Eggsy’s tracksuit, the boys are still keeping it real in the rap game and hold the title of the most successful UK rap act ever. To date The GLC have released 18 albums… and amazingly none of them have died yet. You knows it! GLC (Live) plus special guests

Andrew Cushin

Andrew Cushin

14 Oct 2025 - 25 Oct 2025

Andrew Cushin possesses a nuanced, multifaceted talent for songwriting. The words that he conjures are both immensely personal and reflective of modern social issues, but those serious themes are delivered through songs with huge, pints-in-the-air singalong appeal. It’s a talent that’s winning a growing army of admirers, most notably Noel Gallagher, who produced and performed on Andrew’s previous single ‘Where’s My Family Gone’. Andrew’s ongoing discovery continues today as he releases just his fourth single, ‘Memories’. It’s a song which finds the 21-year-old artist poignantly exploring the idea of what masculinity means in the present day. There’s undoubtedly a real bravery in putting such vulnerable emotions in full view of the world at large, but that heartfelt honesty has been the driving factor behind all of his releases to date.

Earthtone9

Earthtone9

18 Sept 2025 - 14 Dec 2025

earthtone9 are rightly hailed by those who know as one of the most forward-thinking, clever, musically wise and creatively smart in the history of British metal. Emerging in the late ‘90s as nu-metal was beginning to surge, their more nuanced palette and intelligent approach saw them hailed as something special and excitingly against the grain from the very beginning. Making an album a year between 1998 and 2000 – beginning with their expertly crafted Lo-def(inition) Discord debut, and culminating in 2000’s staggering Arc’tan’gent – it was a workrate as intense as the music was uniformly brilliant. After splitting in 2002 the band made a surprise return in 2013 with the crowdfunded album, IV. Following this they made only occasional appearances in the live arena (including at the ArcTanGent Festival, which purloined its name from their third album!), before once again seeming to disappear on hiatus. Now, 11 years on from their last record, they present In Resonance Nexus, a thrilling work of brains and muscle that not only stokes a fire, but sees the band's core members – vocalist Karl Middleton and guitarists Owen Packard and Joe Roberts – rediscovering and reconnecting with what makes them so special. In Resonance Nexus is the heaviest, fiercest, most heightened record they have ever made; a startling combination of almost feral intensity and the latter-day songwriting chops they displayed on the IV album. Presented by Action!. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 at all times. Under 8’s must have hearing protection.

Ocie Elliott

Ocie Elliott

30 Oct 2025 - 8 Nov 2025

Ocie Elliott is musical duo Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy from Victoria, B.C., Canada. The two have come a long way in a short time since a chance encounter in a Salt Spring Island café led to a spark, collaboration, and their ultimate partnership in music and beyond. That was hardly two years ago, and Ocie has been busy, releasing both an EP and their debut full-length album We Fall In (Nettwerk Music Group), playing with the likes of Mason Jennings, Sons of the East, Kim Churchill, Roo Panes, Current Swell and Joseph, touring Canada, US, and Europe and having their song “Run To You” featured on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. In the challenging internet age of streaming music, Sierra and Jon have cultivated a fast-growing following by releasing a captivating series of live acoustic videos on Facebook recorded in the cozy confines of the couple’s Honda CR-V (which, Sierra explains, offers “organically well-rounded and self-contained” acoustics which lend an intimacy to their intricate harmonies). The novel approach has paid off, with a million streams of their most popular tracks on Spotify and Apple Music, as well as sold-out shows. With gentle acoustic chords layered over gorgeously complementary voices, which intertwine in gentle harmonies, Sierra and Jon’s beautifully written songs explore, of all things, love and connection. The duo has been aptly described by one reviewer as “...the aural equivalent of indigo painted skies and the first summer stars."

We are all, as Oscar Wilde once so famously remarked, in the gutter. However, some of us are looking at the stars. On their latest journey Sky Void of Stars, Swedish grand seigneurs of gloom Katatonia solemnly set the stage for a nocturne both crushing and exhilarating; for it is only in the absence of stars that we can truly shine. Carving their way from their nineties gothic-tinged doom metal to the ethereal post-metal entity they are today, the band led by founding members Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström have always been and will forevermore be one thing—a vessel of deep emotion; shrouded in Scandinavian despair and a universal longing for salvation.

Cardinal Black

Cardinal Black

2 Oct 2025 - 1 Nov 2025

They say that good things come to those who wait. A little over two years after their launch, you could say that Cardinal Black are testament to the power of patience, thought and persistence. A debut iTunes #1 single and E.P.; a first gig to a hometown capacity crowd at Cardiff Castle; back-to-back sold out Academy tours with Myles Kennedy, then The Struts; a standing ovation at a Sold Out Royal Albert Hall supporting Peter Frampton; a live set recording in the Beatles’ legendary Studio Two at Abbey Road in London and a debut album that, within 24 hours of its release, had toppled both Taylor Swift and the Beatles from the top of Amazon UK’s album chart. An eventful first 2 years for any band. It takes years, so the saying goes, to become an overnight success... Rewind to 2010 and the Welsh-born trio of Tom Hollister, Chris Buck and Adam Roberts were riding a wave of hype, hotly-tipped by some of the biggest names in rock - most notably Steve Winwood who invited the band to record at his storied Wincraft Studios. A triumphant live set at Sonisphere was followed by a flight across the Atlantic to begin work on their first record, with veteran manager Alan Niven (Guns N’ Roses) at the helm. The lure of the U.S. proved irresistible to the nascent trio but, as is often the case, expectation rarely mirrors reality and the band struggled to adapt to the new country, culminating in singer Tom Hollister unexpectedly calling time on the band before returning to the U.K. “We tried to do the acrimonious split; creative differences and all that. We then quickly realised we were fairly reliant on one another,” says Buck. In the decade that followed, the lifelong friends cut their own individual paths whilst remaining close. Most notable has been the well-earned rise of guitarist Chris Buck, named in 2019 as ‘Best New Guitarist in the World’, who has forged a reputation as one of the most inventive and recognisable guitar players in music; winning plaudits from peers and the industry’s most iconic players alike. Drummer Adam Roberts found work as a first-call session player, whilst vocalist Tom Hollister moved into tour management - the three maintaining their musical connection by sporadically meeting up to perform together. It was just a matter of time then, before they were ready to make new music again. The writing and recording of new material began in 2020, under the name Cardinal Black, bolstered by the arrival of bassist Sam Williams. Fast forward to 2023 and the band embarked on an extensive European headline tour, culminating in an Americana Music Awards (UK) nomination for Artist of the Year. They may have taken the scenic route but Cardinal Black are finally here, and they've got plenty of stories to tell...

Orange Goblin

Orange Goblin

10 Dec 2025 - 17 Dec 2025

This is the sound of a band that have been together for over 20 years. It's the sound of a band that don't give a fuck about modern day trends and what the 'cool' kids are listening to. It's the sound of Orange Goblin digging really deep into our well of inspiration. In a world gone mad, there are few certainties to cling to. But one thing remains forever unwavering and true: Orange fucking Goblin. Diehard exponents of the noble art of heavy metal since 1995, the London-based quartet have spent the last two decades steadily but surely establishing themselves as one of the UK's most loved and respected bands. Emerging from the stoner rock explosion of the mid '90s, the band led the way for that scene on British shores, kicking off with classic debut album Frequencies From Planet Ten in 1997 and continuing with a steady stream of critically acclaimed albums that boldly and gleefully blurred the lines between stoner, doom, black, crust and southern rock, while always fervently saluting the old school heavy metal flag and the sacred Sabbathian code. Widely admired as one of the most ludicrously thunderous and entertaining live bands on the planet, Orange Goblin have paid their dues and earned the right to be regarded as a heavy metal institution. The band's last two albums, A Eulogy For The Damned (2012) and Back From The Abyss (2014) have further cemented their reputation and taken their popularity to new heights, aided by high profile festival slots all over the world. Since the release of Back From The Abyss, the band's feet have barely touched the ground: a full European tour with doom legends Saint Vitus, a full US trek with Down, headline shows across Europe and triumphant appearances at Download, Bloodstock, Ozzfest, Wacken Open Air and many more. Nominated for 'Best British Band' at last year's Metal Hammer Golden Gods ceremony, at which they also performed, Orange Goblin have never been more in demand. As a result, the arrival of their ninth studio album, The Wolf Bites Back, is a very big deal. After a four-year wait, fans are about to feel the full power of a band at the peak of their powers and with the wind in their sails. Sometimes you just have to make a statement and I believe that this album is that statement, avows frontman Ben Ward. We just wanted a title that represents the feelings we tried to get across with the material on the album and it seemed to fit perfectly. It's vicious, it's dangerous, it's wild and it's unashamedly heavy metal and hard rocking! A lot of bands seem to be ashamed to say that these days, there are too many hipsters and posers that are afraid of the heavy metal tag yet like to revel in the imagery. Fuck that, people should be proud to be heavy metal! If you have blood in your veins, it will be impossible to avoid a sudden rush of heavy metal pride when album opener Sons Of Salem rips into gear: a turbocharged upgrade for the Orange Goblin formula, it ushers in an album full of diversity and daring but one that is powered by metal, pure and simple. From the insistent, fire-breathing groove of the title track and Renegade's balls-out rampage to the psychedelic fog of Ghosts Of The Primitives and Suicide Division's two minutes of snot-spraying Bathory-ized hardcore, The Wolf Bites Back will scratch every conceivable heavy metal itch while simultaneously making most sensible people want to run through a brick wall. Recorded at Orgone Studios in rural Bedfordshire with esteemed underground guru Jaime 'Gomez' Arellano at the controls, the new opus comes adorned with a raw but crystalline sound that has maximised Orange Goblin's extraordinary eight-legged chemistry. Gomez has a very new, custom built studio in a really remote part of the English countryside so there are zero distractions and we were totally focused on the job at hand, says Ben. We gave ourselves plenty of time so the vibe was relaxed and almost experimental. We were trying out new sounds and working with equipment and instruments that we may not have considered in the past. Gomez was like a fifth member of the band, constantly making useful suggestions. I think that the band's playing and songwriting on this album are the best they've ever been. It's a huge wall of sound and Gomez has recorded and mixed it perfectly. Its rampaging musical contents aside, The Wolf Bites Back is also an album of pitch-black horrors and warped nightmares, as Ben Ward channels his fury and fire through twisted tales of ghouls, witches, warriors and sinister ne'er-do-wells. At the heart of the album, however, lies a sincere and heartfelt frustration at the state of the world and humanity's resistance to getting our collective shit together. I think this is the most honest album I have written, admits Ben. There are still fantasy themes but a lot of that fantasy is derived from real life frustration and anger. There are strong themes of rebellion, fighting back, revenge and making yourself a better person. There are underlying themes that the whole world and humanity in general is fucked! This time I was reading a lot of science-fiction, stuff like Philip K. Dick and other writers with a bleak, nihilistic view of what the future holds. Whether it's because of politics, science, religion or just the simple fact that the majority of human beings are stupid and ignorant, we are all doomed and the world is a fucked up place! As the world burns, Orange Goblin continue to give us fresh reasons to live. The Wolf Bites Back is a flat-out triumph for a band that refuse to deviate from their stated mission of bring joyous, blood 'n' thunder metal to the masses. With fistfuls of killer new songs and momentum propelling them onward and upward, the future is looking bright and busier than ever. We have Stone Free Festival, Hellfest, Alcatraz, Summer Breeze, Impetus, Rock Im Wald and a lot more scheduled for the summer, Ben states. Then we are looking to tour the UK in late October, early November, to promote the album here properly. We're looking forward to people finally being able to hear this new material. It's been a long four years since the last album but we definitely feel that this one has been worth the wait!

Even if you put all that to one side, Kneecap are a frighteningly articulate rap group. Jared James Nichols

Jared James Nichols

26 Nov 2025 - 6 Dec 2025

You can’t teach the blues. It’s not something that can be codified in music books or learned on YouTube. It goes much deeper than that and it comes from the inside. It’s about the way the guitar strings are bent and the sound gets transmuted directly from a player’s soul. It’s simple at the end of the day. Either you’ve got it, or you don’t. JARED JAMES NICHOLS has definitely got it. The Wisconsin-born, singer, writer and guitarist’s channels blues grit and gusto through bombastic arena-size rock ‘n’ roll. It’s raw, raucous and righteously real. As soon as he got his first guitar at 14-years-old, the stage immediately called to Jared. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that he grew up minutes away from The Alpine Valley Resort— where Stevie Ray Vaughan performed his last show. However, no divine coincidence could truly foreshadow just how adept at the six-string he would eventually become. He personally traces the beginning of his story back to a blues jam that his mother brought him to. “Two weeks after I got an electric guitar, I was on stage with all of these old cats from Chicago playing the blues,” he recalls with a smile. “The music immediately resonated with me. It was all about the feeling and the soul behind it. None of these guys were music nerds. They were true blues guys playing what they felt. That power and reality struck a chord in me. ” Soon, he found himself practicing for twelve hours every day. Hitting up the local jams, he ended up sharing the stage with legends including Buddy Guy, “Honeyboy” Edwards, and “Big Jim” Johnson as well as opening for Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Derek Trucks. By his 21st birthday, he had logged over 500 gigs.

The doppler affection tour THE COST was formed in Valencia, Spain in 2023 when drummer El Estepario Siberiano, bassist Chris Attwell and guitarist & vocalist Peter Connolly met at their producer’s acclaimed recording studio. Chris and Peter performed in a jazz band that recorded at the studio and as El Estepario Siberiano explains he could hear them through the thin walls and was very impressed with their music and ability. He thought to himself “they have a jazzy style, but if they just added some gain to what they were doing, it could be metal”. So he asked them if they would want to give it a try and do what they do, but just add distortion. The result is the incredible Doppler Affection album. Bringing together three distinct musical backgrounds & cultures, this culmination promises to be one of the biggest sounds in music today. With Peter and Chris being graduates of the Berklee Music program in Valencia and El Estepario Siberiano’s infamous drumming skills, the band seamlessly blend their technical prowess with great songwriting ability. Their 30-year discography defies any one categorization, ranging from jazz fusion on Whisper Supremacy (1998) and the avant-garde rhythms of Once Was Not (2005) to the melodic experiments of The Unspoken King (2008). In 2012, Cryptopsy released their self-titled album, which signaled a return to their brutal roots. Three years later, the band embarked on The Book of Suffering, an ambitious two-part EP that Decibel regarded as "an absolute fucking burner". Almost 30 years into their career, Cryptopsy won the JUNO Award for Best Metal/Hard Music Album for their latest album As Gomorrah Burns (2023). They followed that up by earing another prestigious honor: joining Death to All on a tour of North America. Along with their celebrated discography, a relentless work ethic and reputation as blistering live performers has cemented Cryptopsy as one of metal's most influential and respected bands. But while their legacy is safely established, the band remain committed to expanding the definitions of extreme music. Having now signed with Season of Mist, they're preparing to release new music, along with definitive reissues from their classic catalogue.

I Wrote This for Attention: Lukas Gage in conversation
Hosted by Emma-Louise Boynton  A thrilling memoir by The White Lotus and Euphoria actor, Lukas Gage, which chronicles his upbringing in a broken family, struggles with borderline personality disorder, and his commitment to always being the centre of attention. 'For a self-proclaimed liar, Lukas Gage is brutally honest. And for an exhibitionistic chaos agent with a borderline personality disorder, he is entirely relatable.' Mike White, Emmy winning writer and director  I Wrote This for Attention is an exquisite memoir that details Lukas’ coming of age in the haunting underbelly of San Diego. Capturing universal anxieties – of transitioning from innocence to adulthood, of feeling too much and nothing at all, of sex and death, of fame and familial strife, of drug abuse and Raya – this book is a remarkable achievement of healing, vaping through therapy sessions and having the courage to forgive the family that hurt you.
