The incredible ‘Showstopper! The Improvised Musical’ have announced more tour dates and West End shows throughout 2025! Spontaneous musical comedy at its finest, this is the first ever long-form improv show to have a full West End run and to be nominated and win an Olivier Award. For those who haven’t yet experienced the live phenomenon that is ‘Showstopper! The Improvised Musical’, the show is a fully-realised musical created on the spot from audience suggestions. The cast take ideas for settings, genres, musical styles and the show title and weave it into ingenious storylines with hilarious characters. Not all of Julian’s wild bunch will be around to witness the final shoot-out that will result in Julian giving himself selflessly at high noon to the last man standing. The Last Rose of Summer is a brand new one-act musical inspired by Jane Austen’s life and her connection to Southampton. This exciting contemporary musical is a fresh look at one of the UK’s greatest writers. An all-female creative team will bring this fantastic new piece to life including choreography from prestigious dance companies Birmingham Royal Ballet and Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures. Featuring a cast of 50 talented local young people this production is one not to be missed. Part of the nationwide Austen 250 celebrations, marking the 250th year since Jane Austen was born in Hampshire, The Last Rose of Summer will be developed over two weeks. Geoffrey Frank Norcott is an English comedian, writer and political commentator. He first performed in 2001 and has appeared on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo and Question Time, and written for The Daily Telegraph, The Independent and Spiked.

A family struggles in silence under the pressure of parenthood, micro-aggressions and a series of never ending medical appointments. “The Feeling” has been devised by a female and non-binary creative team, alongside 100’s of voices across a large spectrum of people and cultures across Southampton. Built into the script is verbatim and real stories from a series of focus groups including: men, the LGBTQ+ community, those who have suffered with infertility, young people going through puberty and women going through or who have been through menopause. At its core the play is a cry for help from a community of voices who have felt at any one time silenced. A question as to how we can change this culture of silence by tackling shame within our education systems, medical systems and peer/family groups. We aim to increase understanding around female reproductive health care and LGBTQ+ health care inequities, as well as generate discussion around the language and reform we can use to make healthcare in Southampton and England not just accessible, but equal to all. Following the 2pm performance there will be a Q&A with stakeholders, policymakers, community members, including young people (14-25 yrs) from Southampton to collectively discuss how we can support female reproductive health & LGBTQ+ healthcare for future generations.
