We’re taking over back-to-back Saturday nights at the transformed East London Str!p Club, Metropolis, for our latest Italo celebration! The line-up we’ve put together includes the first two acts we ever booked split between 2 weekends, with both artists playing longer sessions on their respective night: On Saturday 17th May, we welcome Alexander Robotnick. A man who needs to introduction, his debut album ‘Ce N’est Q’un Début’ gave us one of the all time greats of the Italian disco sound, ‘Problémes D’amour’. With a massive back catalogue of Italo hits, plus movie soundtracks and his own record label, Alexander is still very much living and giving. On Saturday 24th May, we welcome Daniele Baldelli. After earning his stripes through iconic residencies at Baia Degli Angeli, Italy’s Studio 54, he later resided at the iconic venue Cosmic, where he wrote himself into the Italian dance music history book with what is known as the ‘Cosmic’ sound: a mix of Italo Disco, classic afrobeat, sleazy funk and more - all slowed down to sonic perfection. Day Party at the Colour Factory Garden: 14:00 - 22:00 Night Party at Metropolis: 22:00 - 04:00 \--- We cannot wait to soak ourselves in the East London sunshine again this summer, because yes, once again, we’re hosting a full 3 date residency of day & night parties across the summer!! That’s right b. 3 day & night kiki’s with the sunny hours going down at the open-air, sun soaked Garden stage of Colour Factory, an iconic Hackey Wick based queer space. Night time? We’ll strut across to the other side of Victoria Park and head home to Metropolis for the usual nighttime Club Metropolis fun... If you’re day drinking, great (!), cause the incredible Colour Factory team have got you covered with summer cocktails, beers, shots, street food and whatever else during the day. After an absolute blow-out DAY & NIGHT dance last year, The Disco Express returns with another sun soaked discotheque to kick start your Summer in London. During the daylight hours, we’ll be dancing in the idyllic Hackney Wick sun-trap that is Colour Factory, more specifically in their Garden! A delightfully intimate outdoor spot hosted by some of the most fabulous and inclusive staff in London, you can expect soulful house & disco by the Disco Express label family, a selection of summer cocktails, local craft beers, and of course an open-air dancefloor and hang out area to soak up the sun waves. Manchester’s own Homoelectric are packing their suitcases and setting sail for the Big Smoke, as the fam move outta their Mancunian gutter and into Bethnal Green’s Metropolis for a month-long summer holiday in July. The Manchester underground queer collective will be hosting the first ever Metropolis month-long residency since the transformed East London str!p club’s inception - and they will be raising hell across every Saturday in July. Alongside the flags and the dirty outfits, they have stuffed their suitcases with an extended Mancunian crew and will be bringing their dysfunctional disco on tour. They will be bringing you four non-stop exotic discos for homos, lesbos, don’t knows, kings, queens, trans, pans, queers and their straight peers. So that’s six hours of music, melodrama, and muck, every Saturday in July. + over 12 DJs including their Homoelectric residents and Homoelectric regulars to be revealed on the line-up as they go... Into the music melting pot each week, they will throw a hot sweaty homo-made mix of disco, house, techno, garage, sleaze and dirty basslines with no pomp, no snobbery and no pretension!
