An Evening With Vikki Clayton

12 Jun 2026 - 14 Nov 2026

A Londoner by birth, Vikki got caught up in music by the age of four. Her musical ability was fostered at the Trinity College of Music, and later on she achieved an honours degree in the Performing Arts. She drifted into folk clubs and by the age of 13 was asking for a guitar. She began to sing English folk song, though still listening to rock and prog rock and eventually she joined the cult folk rockers Ragged Heroes. Since then she has performed with Fotheringhay, Fairport Convention, and her own band (with Clive Bunker (JethroTull), Fred T Baker (Hatfield and the North), Chris Conway (Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist), as well as recording eight solo albums, and featuring on recordings with many other stars. Her latest album Messenger is hailed as her best so far. She is also a guest lecturer for several Performing Arts Courses and just keeps going from strength to strength. Her voice is described as sweet, clear, and very "english sounding". Her guitar playing is amazing and distinctive. She can make you laugh, cry, rejoice, and celebrate, all within the first set. Gabriella Frances is a folk singer-songwriter based in Brighton, crafting songs that explore nature, existential themes, and a deep-rooted sense of spirituality. A regular at the Mitre Tavern and the Folklore Rooms, a set by Gabriella is not to be missed.
