Monikie Country Park was opened in 1981, after serving for nearly a century and a half as the location for Monikie Reservoir. The reservoir is still there but is now used for outdoor adventures including water sports, ropes courses, mountain biking, nature activities and fly fishing. The Ranger Service offers a programme of events.
