James Campbell’s Comedy 4 Kids: Reducks
James invented the idea of proper stand-up for children in 2001. Since then he has been travelling the world, bringing high-quality laughter to children in thousands of schools, libraries, theatres, festivals anywhere that will have him really.  For the last ten years he has mainly been concentrating on writing funny books and parenting his own children. But now he is bored of all that and returns to the world of festivals to reboot comedy for kids with a face full of wrinkles and a reconstructed show that may include exploding penguins; seventeen ways to eat jam; and songs to sing to the worms in your dog’s bottom.  This show is twice as funny as anything you’ve seen before so cover yourself in glue, roll around in glitter for five minutes and then come to the show shouting, “I’m a massive disco maggot!” until someone asks you to leave.  ★★★★★ "A HIT NOT TO BE MISSED” - Three Weeks  ★★★★★ “I SHOULD HAVE GIVEN HIM SIX STARS – JUST TOO BRILLIANT“ – The Sunday Herald   "THERE WERE CHILDREN LAUGHING SO HARD THEY WERE STRUGGLING TO SIT UP STRAIGHT" - One4Review  "HAS ACHIEVED ALMOST HOLY STATUS - DON'T MISS" - The Sunday Times

Spin-a-Play!

16 Aug 2025 - 16 Aug 2025

Insert Laughter Here presents Spin-a-Play! Returning to the Museum of Comedy in 2025  In this completely improvised and chaotic comedy show, the audience will be invited to suggest genres for a "brand new" play to be made up on the spot by the performers. The genres go on a spinning wheel which is then used to determine which one will be performed. Guests also get to provide suggestions to start the play off with, and throughout the show will be offered opportunities to shape the action as it unfolds, decide whether it goes right or wrong and even choose how it ends!  Will the action hero save the day and get the girl of his dreams, or will he fail and doom himself to a life of mockery? Will the charismatic thief successfully steal the diamond in the heist she has been planning for decades, or will it all go hilariously awry? The possibilities are literally endless when the audience has the power of choice.  “A SORT OF COMEDY WHEEL OF FORTUNE WITH NO SHORTAGE OF FUN AND LAUGHS ALONG THE WAY”- East Anglian Theatre Podcast  Find out more at insertlaughterhere.co.uk [https://www.insertlaughterhere.co.uk/]
Wizard Guide to Saving the World

Wizard Guide to Saving the World

15 Aug 2025 - 16 Aug 2025

The world is not what it was. What we need is a wizard to sort out the mess we’ve made. A legendary wizard who is not afraid of the big issues.  Wizard Guide to Saving the World contains actual magic, love philtres, charms enough to stop wars or climate change, and plenty of stuff about wizards. At heart this new character stand-up is concerned with shifting social attitudes and cultural standards, viewed and skewed through ancient wizard eyes. The forces of evil attack, Merlin slips in and out, and there’s the promise a spellbound singalong.  We know of wizards from our history books, myths & fantasies, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer & Monty Python. Wizard Guide… name drops Gandalf, Dr Strange, Dumbledore, Rincewind and more – wizards are everywhere in our culture. But this isn’t a show for nerds of the arcane (although they won’t feel out of place), it is aimed at an audience who enjoy a blend of left leaning political sensibility and farfetched silliness.  Wizard Guide to Saving the World does what it says on the enchanted vessel. Written and performed by Terry Victor, still recovering from a lengthy rehab in Santa’s “Grotto” "HARSH, FUNNY AND SIMPLY STAGED, GROTTO FEELS LIKE THE SORT OF SHOW THE EDINBURGH FRINGE WAS INVENTED FOR…" ★★★★ - Starburst Magazine

A SURPRISINGLY POIGNANT CELEBRATION.” - The Times  ★★★★ In 1979, Michael Burdett spotted their potential and took them into the studio to record their first songs. Ella Al-Shamahi: Becoming Human (Work In Progress)
This is the story of Homo sapiens… us. ELLA AL-SHAMAHI palaeoanthropologist, TV presenter, explorer and stand-up presents a talk on our remarkable origin story.  Once upon a time we shared this planet with many species of human – it has been said that our world was a bit like Lord of the Rings. To start with we Homo sapiens weren’t that remarkable, our origins were in fact rather humble and yet somehow today we are the only ones left. But we didn’t just survive against all odds, we thrived, innovated and travelled like no other species of human - becoming the explorer species who built cities, iPhones and painted the Sistine Chapel. Our success was profound, but how on Earth did it happen and at what cost?  Ella Al-Shamahi started studying evolution as a creationist and so she interweaves her own story demonstrating the power of tribalism not just in the past, but also in the present. Expect a talk that draws on the latest discoveries, heart, humour and wild expedition stories.  Al-Shamahi is a National Geographic Explorer specialising in searching for fossils in Palaeolithic caves in politically unstable, hostile and disputed territories.
