Museum of Liverpool
As the newest member of the National Museums Liverpool group, the Museum of Liverpool opened in 2011, with the aim of telling the story of the city and its people.
Exhibits are divided into four themes over four different galleries: The Great Port, Global City, People’s Republic and Wondrous Place, with objects such as costume and art, archaeological material and photographic archives. Highlights of the museum include the Beatles collection, various museum trails and daily film screenings.
Entry to the museum is free and there are facilities for family groups such as a buggy park, cafe, shop and indoor picnic area. Little Liverpool is a special gallery designed for the little ones with free events and activities.
Museum of Liverpool can be reached easily by car and bus. The Pier Head is on the waterfront close to Liverpool city centre and the Liverpool One complex. Q-Park Strand Street has 2000 underground spaces, Q-Park Gradwell Street has 560 multi-storey spaces and Q-Park John Lewis has 580 multi-storey spaces.
