National Trust: 2 Willow Road

Ernő Goldfinger was the architect for 2 Willow Road, which is part of a terrace of three houses from 1939 in Hampstead. The building was controversia,l attracting the opposition of James Bond author, Ian Fleming, and it is said the architects name was the inspiration for the villain, Auric Goldfinger. The architect lived here until his death in 1987. 2 Willow Road features a spiral staircase designed by Danish engineer Ove Arup. The building is noted for using a frame made of concrete. The property is managed by the National Trust.
