Running Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), our highlights tour takes you around the house at Chartwell with one of our knowledgeable volunteer guides, including exclusive entrance into Sir Winston Churchill's bedroom. Please note that as this is a highlights tour, it doesn't include access to all rooms of the house as a regular visit would. Those wanting to see the whole house will need to obtain a timed ticket to visit the house on a self-guided basis. If you wish to also visit the gardens and estate, please feel free to arrive earlier than the time listed which is for the tour only. Normal admission into the gardens will still apply. Join a fascinating guided walk around the Chartwell estate with our Area Ranger, Fraser Williamson. Learn about the flora and fauna of the area. Find out more about the conservation work that rangers do at Chartwell and in the West Kent Countryside. The paths may be muddy, so please wear appropriate footwear. There are no resting places during the walk, so please bring your own refreshments or purchase something to take away from the café if required. Please note that the woodland paths are uneven, narrow in places and include steep inclines so a certain level of fitness is required for the walk. No pets please; assistance dogs permitted. Discover the history and stories of Chartwell, the home of Sir Winston Churchill and his family for over 40 years. The tour will last approximately 1 hour, and we welcome those both Deaf and hearing to join. There is also a BSL interpreted tour taking place at nearby Emmetts Garden on the same day at 1pm. It is possible to join both tours. You will need to pre-book for the Emmetts Garden BSL Interpreted tour on the Emmetts Garden website. BSL tour guide provided by Heritage Interpreters. See Chartwell a little differently and learn about the conservation our Collections team undertake to ensure the preservation of Sir Winston Churchill's heritage. Our conservators will be holding different live demonstrations with opportunities to ask questions about conservation and the collections at Chartwell. Please bring along some spare change for our donation pot. It helps us to continue to look after the collections and care of Chartwell. Event is free with normal admission/membership. Children welcome.
