Filthy Fridays with Dan Antopolski

Filthy Fridays with Dan Antopolski

16 May 2025 - 30 May 2025

Every Friday of the Fringe. Two fantastic local comedians and a Fabulous headliner, compered by radio broadcaster and vegan, Mr Guy Lloyd. Starring DAN ANTOPOLSKI DAN ANTOPOLSKI · "Spectacular displays of verbal pyrotechnics... A confident, splendidly silly and sometimes dazzling show."
Stephanie Merritt, The Observer · "He is one of the funniest and hardest-working comedians out there. His material is edgy without going too far, his routines are complex and assured, he's likeable... and has some of the best gags I've heard."
Matt Brereton, The Scotsman · "The man's charms (and they are considerable) lie in his combination of old-fashioned and new styles: he makes entirely plausible jokes in a surrealistic, laddish vein only to undermine them later and take them on to unexpected levels. Antopolski has a neat turn of phrase and a nicely-skewed comedy vision which, while keeping him one step beyond the best of the mainstream, also provide him with oddly seductive powers over his audience."
Hettie Judah, The Times · "Unforgettable stage presence... intricately clever observation... A comedian who will never relax into formulaic gags to satisfy his audience."
Rachel Halliburton, Evening Standard · "He's plummy but crass, cerebral but goofy and the sparks of genius fly off him like a Catherine wheel."
Nadine McBay, Metro · "An intriguing hour of intellect-tickling comedy... Disarmingly improvisational... unashamedly educated... the resultant laughs are lacquered with a growing admiration for his innovation, beat-for-beat timing and prophetic puppet-mastery of the crowd."
Graeme Virtue, Sunday Herald · "I couldn't help but be impressed. Dozens and dozens of well-honed jokes... I felt like I was watching someone who'd fully matured as a performer."
Paul MacInnes, THE GUARDIAN · "Articulate, self-assured... with an ironic self-awareness... Antopolski's versatility wins you over."
Ross Kinghorn, TVBomb · "An evening in his company seems guaranteed to be enjoyable... good old-fashioned jokes... underlined by his hyper-mobile facial expressions... a thoroughly enjoyable set that delights the crowd."
Holly Williams, Spoonfed · "A strong recommendation for a confidently entertaining hour."
Siân Bevan, The List · "In his distinctively laid-back style of delivery, he tosses out inspired joke after joke... Both silly and strangely sophisticated, Antopolski's humour - and worldview - is totally unique and makes for a thoroughly enjoyable, if eccentric show."
Beth Kahn, Broadway Baby · Silent But Deadly - Edinburgh · "His writing is as inventive as ever... Antopolski is not merely deadpan, but almost otherworldly on stage. It's the perfect platform for his sometimes surreal, often deliberately literal approach to life."
James Kettle, The Guardian · "No-one else has the same flair and assurance... A rock-solid hour with punchlines galore."
Ben Clover, London Is Fynny · "Stunningly funny... a fine, multi-faceted show that probably deserved to win some kind of award or other."
Jay Richardson, Chortle · "Superb entertainment... This indisputably gifted comic is ideal viewing for anybody with a sense of humour who can laugh until it hurts."
Miles Morgan, Three Weeks · "A battery of fine gags honed to shiny perfection."
Brian Donaldson, The List
