Drawn into the game and unsure who to trust, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson find themselves confronting figures from their past in a desperate race against time, aware that the most powerful person in the world could be in the pocket of one of the most corrupt. But just how much is Holmes willing to sacrifice as he faces ‘checkmate’? Mike Bubbins

Mike Bubbins

20 Sept 2026 - 17 Apr 2027

Mike Bubbins, star of hit podcast The Socially Distant Sports Bar, and of BBC television comedies Mammoth, Tourist Trap and The Unexplainers, unleashes Throwback, his first ever solo UK stand-up tour. And things may never be the same again. Throwback is a powerful, thought-provoking, visceral hour of stand-up comedy, that pushes boundaries, defies neat descriptions and challenges the audience... As if it is! It’s actually an hour and a half of really funny stories, pretty impressive characterisations, possibly a song (he said he’ll see how that goes), a bit of nostalgia about the good old days, a bit of optimism about the good new days, and Mike generally having a laugh about life and not taking himself, or anything else, too seriously. Having said that, he may, at some point in the show, get very annoyed at berks, whether in the past, the present, or the future. Very annoyed. So basically Throwback is a comedy show about Bubbins sharing, and bringing to life, the stuff that he finds funny. As comedy concepts go, it’s a pretty straightforward one, really.

Daphne

Daphne

4 Jul 2026 - 11 Jul 2026

Written by Rosie Race. Based on the enigmatic life of Daphne du Maurier, Daphne is an arresting, funny and darkly magical portrait of a woman on trial who would rather be found guilty than share her secrets. Captivated by the landscapes of the South West, they became the inspiration for many of her most famous gothic novels, which have been brought to life numerous times on stage and screen, including Alfred Hitchcock's Rebecca and The Birds. Daphne is accused of plagiarism, for stealing her most famous novel, Rebecca. The courtroom dissolves and time fractures as witnesses become the ghosts of her past; her lovers, her characters, and the many selves she has spent a lifetime avoiding. Confronting her most complicated desires and fluid identity, she is dragged into a storm of memory: the walls of the court give way to the wild Cornish sea, where she sets sail once more for Menabilly, her beloved home near Fowey that shaped her life and literature, desperate to reach it before the tide – or her past – pulls her under. A haunting voyage into passion, obsession, and the question that lingers within us all… who are we when no-one is watching?
