Odeon Leicester Square
The Odeon Leicester Square bills itself as 'Europe's premiere cinema' and it's true in more than one way; the largest single-screen cinema in the UK is also the flagship of the entire Odeon chain, and the venue for numerous European and world film premieres. A towering monument of polished black granite dating from 1937, it dominates Leicester Square and its 1683-seat auditorium is fully equipped to show 35mm, 70mm and digital films. A refubishment was completed in 2018.
Next door are the Odeon Studios, five much smaller screens. All the screens have wheelchair spaces although, paradoxically, studios 2--5 don't have wheelchair access. Audio description and subtitled performances are available for selected screenings.
Leicester Square is a pedestrian space and the nearest car parks are in Whitcomb Street or Chinatown Car Park in Newport Place. Tube: Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. Rail: Charing Cross Station is about 10 minutes away on foot.
