Our aim for the Gippeswyck Pagan Gathering is to provide a place for all types of people with beliefs which fall under the Pagan or Earth based spirituality umbrella, to come together and celebrate our similarities with a focus on the social aspects. Our talks are always in a different room from the stalls and bar and food and entertainment, which means people are free to shop, talk, dance, eat drink etc. We started in 2017, every year we have a different style of opening ceremony/ritual provided by those who follow that particular path. This year we have a Wiccan group opening the Gathering. We always have a Morris side , folkloric dancers and folk musicians as entertainment. Finishing at 5:30pm All profits if any go to charity. We have previously donated to The Suffolk Punch trust and Ipswich Wildlife Group, Lighthouse Ipswich and Ipswich animal welfare.
Operation:RADAR - in association with Bawdsey RADAR Trust to celebrate VE/VJ Day
It's a race against time as Boffins Robert Watson Watt and Skip Wilkins try to come up with solutions to the impossible problems of detecting aircraft and IFF (identifying friend or foe) before they succumb to the bleak conditions of Orfordness - or Hitler unleashes the might of the Luftwaffe and wipes out the RAF before the flying boys have got their socks on!. But as they re-establish operations at Bawdsey Manor, and Churchill piles on the pressure, will Air Marshall Dowding retain his sanity long enough to be any help? And even if they do find answers - who will operate the new Chain Home Stations now all the men are being called up? With live music and a mixture of new songs and old favourites from the period, this is a chance, on this 80th Anniversary year of VE/VJ Day, to celebrate the amazing achievements of a small group of men and women who saved the day and were a vital part of the victory.
