Each month, we will explore a different system of the body and how herbs can support your health and well-being. This hands-on course will guide you through harvesting herbal remedies, foraging, and practical uses of medicinal mushrooms and plants throughout the seasons. 8 Sunday Sessions over the yearner: Gather once a month at One Garden and explore the stunning grounds of Stanmer Park, conveniently scheduled for weekends. Hands-On Learning in Nature: Walk through the woodlands, learn to identify healing plants, and create your own remedies from nature’s pharmacy.

A new immersive herbal course begins this June at One Garden, Stanmer Park, offering an opportunity to reconnect with nature and explore the healing power of plants. Meeting once a month through the seasons, this course is perfect for anyone curious about natural remedies, foraging, and holistic health. Held across eight Sunday sessions, the course blends woodland walks, plant identification, and hands-on remedy making, set against the beautiful backdrop of Stanmer Park. You'll also enjoy relaxed tea breaks at One Garden Café and the chance to be part of a growing community of like-minded plant enthusiasts. There is also an option to join for some sessions, if you can’t commit to the whole programme. What you'll learn Led by respected medical herbalist Julia Behrens, the course offers a practical foundation in herbal medicine, covering everything from treating colds and boosting immunity, to integrating healing foods and herbs into daily life. You'll explore the seasonal uses of plants and mushrooms, create your own remedies from nature’s pharmacy and gain confidence in managing everyday health naturally. About Julia Behrens With over 25 years of clinical and teaching experience, Julia has taught at major UK universities, consulted for organisations such as the World Wildlife Fund and Neal’s Yard, and appeared on Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped. She is the author of Healing Herbs (DK, 2022) and Lost in Lyme (Aeon Books), and is currently writing a new book on women’s health. Julia is passionate about empowering people through herbal knowledge and sustainable self-care.
