The Nightingales

The Nightingales

21 May 2025 - 30 May 2025

Described in John Robb's definitive book on 'post punk' (Death To Trad Rock) as 'The misfits' misfits' and comprising an ever fluctuating line-up, based around lyricist/singer Robert Lloyd, the Nightingales enjoyed cult status in the early 80s as darlings of the credible music scene and were championed by John Peel, who said of them: 'Their performances will serve to confirm their excellence when we are far enough distanced from the 1980s to look at the period rationally and other, infinitely better known, bands stand revealed as charlatans.' The group recorded a bunch of critically acclaimed singles (almost always 'Single Of The Week' in the music press) and three albums, plus many radio sessions for their great supporter Peel. They also regularly toured the UK and Northern Europe, as headliners and supporting acts as diverse as Bo Diddley and Nico. Since re-grouping in 2000 they have played Glasto, SXSW etc and headlined Stewart Lee’s Austerity Binge on London’s Southbank.

The Vaselines

The Vaselines

16 May 2025 - 24 May 2025

The Vaselines were formed in Edinburgh in 1987 by singers/guitarists Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee, soon signing to Pastels frontman Stephen Pastel's newly formed 53rd 3rd label. Nirvana's Kurt Cobain regularly cited the Vaselines influence in interviews with the music press and Nirvana would go on to cover the Vaselines' Molly's Lips and Son of a Gun (both later compiled on their Incesticide collection) as well as perform Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam on their legendary MTV Unplugged appearance. Cobain's gospel-spreading no doubt accelerated their rise to cult sainthood, but the Vaselines would have gotten there sooner or later on their own accord. Lewd but nave and abrasive yet tender, the band's shambling, primitivist squall remains a perfect distillation of pop at its most guileless and euphoric.Eugene Kelly later went on to front Captain America / Eugenius, while McKee spent the better part of the decade out of sight, resurfaced in Suckle, and released a solo album in 2006. The Vaselines reunited proper in 2010 to record their second full album Sex With An X which was released on the Seattle label Sub Pop.This was followed by V for Vaselines in 2014. The Ramones inspired album featured many of the same players who helped make 'Sex.....', including Belle and Sebastian's Stevie Jackson, the 1990's Michael McGaughrin and Teenage Fanclub's Francis Macdonald.
The Lovely Eggs

The Lovely Eggs

23 May 2025 - 30 Oct 2025

The Lovely Eggs are an underground surreal-psych punk rock duo from northern England. They have a fierce ethos that music should have no rules. For Holly and David, being in a band is a way of life. True to this , they live the way they play -- fiercely, constantly, in search of the good times. With 8/10 thumbs up from the NME and much support from BBC6 Music and Radio 1, the band continues to sell out gigs across the UK without the help of management, booking agent or record label support. With six BBC 6 Music sessions under their belt, as well as sessions for Radio 1 and XFM, The Lovely Eggs have enjoyed huge support from BBC 6 Music with airplay from DJs Marc Riley, Steve Lamacq, Lauren Laverne, Chris Hawkins, Gideon Coe, Shaun Keavney and Radcliffe and Maconie. Their songs have been produced by Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), remixed by Tinder Singh (Cornershop) and sampled by Zane Lowe for Scrubius Pip. With releases in the UK, Europe, USA and Japan, The Lovely Eggs have played around the UK, USA and Europe. With observational and often surreal lyrics about life, The Lovely Eggs have a powerful, stripped-down sound: one vintage guitar amp, One Big Muff distortion pedal, a guitar and drum kit.
Sylvie Kreusch

Sylvie Kreusch

26 May 2025 - 26 May 2025

Ghent-based artist Sylvie Kreusch is rapidly rising as one of the most impressive and electrifying performers in Europe. Her trail-blazing music and visuals already turned many heads in the fields of music, film and fashion. Kreusch is known for her brutal, expressive lyricism and keen ear for both experimental and pop stylistics. On her breakthrough album Montbray, Sylvie Kreusch illustrated heartbreak with the suspense and thrill of a spy thriller. To say the Belgian artist has a flair for the dramatics would be a severe understatement. Wherever Sylvie sets foot, superlatives tend to chase her like a trail of fire. But once upon a time… there was a girl dreaming in her grandmother’s attic, her starry eyes fully immersed in a collection of vintage comic books. These bright, fantastical tales were a younger Sylvie’s gateway to a magical place, far from the daily toils of reality. Each turn of the page stirred her with pure wonder, possibility and excitement. It’s these big bold emotions that serve as the main conductor for Sylvie Kreusch’s adventurous upcoming new album. She abandons her lofty tenure as Belgium’s specter of the night, trading in her raging red locks for a dashing blonde. Finally in the driver’s seat with her lover sitting shotgun, she embarks on a horizon-chasing voyage where all fruits of life are savored and surveyed with wide eyes and luscious lips.

Since Asheran’s release, Dvne has toured all over the UK, Europe and North America and appeared at prestigious festivals such as Psycho Las Vegas, Desertfest London and Inferno Festival Norway to name a few. Ski Aggu is known for his deep connection with the people.Through his lyrics, music videos, and social media presence, he perfectly encapsulates the Berlin lifestyle and the zeitgeist of Gen Z. Beyond his ability to enjoy life to the fullest, one thing is undeniable – the Wilmersdorf native can rap. Punchlines, technique, laid-back flow, and entertaining, authentic West Berlin rap. And not just in the studio, but especially on stage. Since his viral breakthrough with the gold-certified hit “Party Sahne” in 2022, Ski Aggu has been unstoppable. CVC

CVC

1 May 2025 - 9 May 2025

Formed in 2019 as a 'jam band', Welsh six-piece Church Village Collective (or CVC for short) took their title from their hometown of the same name, a large village 10 miles out of Cardiff. At the time of writing they have just two singles released, but have already wooed early gig goers with their cheeky furore and big band energy, their set at 2022's The Great Escape was by all accounts, a packed affair. CVC 'specialise in fat riffs, lush three part harmonies, and tight beats, all tied together with outfits you could expect to see at the launch party for Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.' On debut EP Real to Reel, unity bleeds through songs that are awash with authenticity, fronted by a slick 'band of brothers' on a devout mission to have a good time and take us all along for the ride. Not just a love letter to rock music's yesteryear, evident here is a clear collective passion for and devotion to making music with your best friends. Contagious? You bet. Church Village Collective seem destined to preach their funk-fuelled psych-rock sermons to ever-growing congregations. Ready your parish.

Lilly Hiatt

Lilly Hiatt

20 Oct 2025 - 26 Oct 2025

Lilly Hiatt's love of the '90s alt-rock she was raised on shines through on Trinity Lane in the distressed guitars and urgent backbeats. She cites the Pixies, Breeders, Dinosaur Jr., and her favourites, Pearl Jam as influences, but there is also something distinctly Americana lurking in the songs. After moving out of an ex's house, Hiatt settled into a new apartment off of Trinity Lane in her East Nashville neighbourhood and went on tour with friend John Moreland to the West Coast and back. The intensely personal, autobiographical album was written largely upon her return, in isolation, facing the issues she escaped while on the road. Every time she wanted a man, she picked up her guitar. Every time she wanted a drink, she picked up her guitar. Hiatt says, 'Love will take you to the darkest places but also the most honest places if you let it. Learning how to love myself is something I've always been lousy with, and I spent some time on that. I thought about my sobriety, what that means to me, the struggles I'd had throughout the years, since I was a 27-year-old and hung up my toxic drinking habit. I thought about my mother, who took her own life when I was a baby, not far from my age at 30 years old, and I related to her more than ever. As you can see, there was plenty of time spent on my own. I didn't talk to that many folks, albeit a few close friends, and leaned into my family. I stayed away from men, and danced alone in the evenings, looking out my window observing my humble and lively neighbourhood. I found power in being by myself. I found peace in the people I was surrounded with we didn't really know one another, but we smiled when passed on the street. One time I almost rear-ended an older woman in her car backing out of my driveway and I said, Oh man, I'm just not used to any cars coming around this bend. She replied, This is our little hideout, baby, And it really was.' She continues, 'After a while, I had all these songs to play, and wanted to share them. I wanted to get out of town to get some distance from everything, so after an ongoing conversation with Michael Trent, I took my band to Johns Island, SC and we holed up for a few weeks. I poured my heart out, and trusted them with it, and these guys gave it right back. I think we all understood what it's like to question home, intention, demons, love I think most people understand that.' Lilly Hiatt returned with Trinity Lane in August 2017. The 12-song set was produced by Michael Trent of Shovels & Rope and engineered by Andy Dixon at Trent's Studio Bees in Johns Island, SC. In addition to her backing band, Trent is featured as a musician throughout, and is joined by his wife and Shovels & Rope partner Cary Ann Hearst for backing vocals on Everything I Had. 'Lilly is as real and honest of a songwriter as they come,' says Trent. 'Fearless and thoughtful and a total joy to be around.' NPR Music is premiering the full album as a First Listen, stating, 'On Trinity Lane, the third album by this fixture of Nashville's indie scene and first for New West she's devoted to excruciatingly revealing expression, deftly manipulating the tone and perspective of her songwriting from track to track. Her treatment of pain can, remarkably, feel both considered and diaristic.' They continue, 'Her willingness to portray herself in moments of anger or neediness that others might deem unseemly, particularly coming from a woman, and to examine gender divisions in emotional labor at close range, is courageous and affecting.' Paste Magazine previously premiered the video for the album's single The Night David Bowie Died, exclaiming that Trinity Lane is 'going to be one for the books'. Of the song, Hiatt offered, 'The night David Bowie died, I was in disbelief. I wanted to talk to someone, but it was too late to make a phone call. I cried quietly and went to bed. The next day, I picked up my guitar and hit record on Garage Band. I started to sing and those were the first words that came out. I felt like Bowie was giving me a little gift.'

Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys

Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys

4 Jun 2025 - 12 Jun 2025

Having already recorded and produced over 10 acclaimed records, had multiple live sessions and airplay on BBC Radio 2 and 3, and his music regularly featured on Sky Arts and Sky Sports, it's hard to believe that 24-year-old Cornwall-based folk singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Sam Kelly has only been performing live for 4 years. As a child, Sam spent many a night enraptured, listening to his Irish grandfather tell folk tales, sing songs, and play tunes on his melodeon. This awe and passion for Celtic music, coupled with a love for the heavy riffs of classic rock and blues, and a voice described by Mike Harding as 'one of my favourite voices ever' has led Sam on to produce some of the most exciting music on the British folk scene in recent years. With folk luminaries such as Kate Rusby, Seth Lakeman, and Cara Dillon waxing lyrical about Sam's live set, it seemed fitting when he was awarded the prestigious Horizon Award for emerging artists at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2016 at London's Royal Albert Hall. Joining Sam in the full band line up for 2017 are Ciaran Algar (fiddle, tenor guitar, bouzouki), Jamie Francis (banjo), Toby Shaer (flutes, pipes, whistles, fiddle, cittern), Graham Coe (cello), Archie Moss (melodeon) and Evan Carson (percussion). Together, they are Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys. The band is working on a brand new album for 2018 with two concert tours and a festival season to promote. With an intoxicating mix of youthful exuberance and instrumental virtuosity, Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys breathe new life into traditional music, letting it rub shoulders with contemporary originals and even the occasional surprise rock cover. Chosen by Cambridge Folk Festival as the pick of the 2016 event, they have quickly become one of the most in-demand bands on the UK festival scene. Expect to hear haunting harmonies, soaring tunes and melodies, charming anecdotes and instrumental performances of the highest calibre, all led by Sam's unmistakable vocals. This is not a show to be missed.

Cat Clyde

Cat Clyde

28 Jul 2025 - 28 Jul 2025

Cat Clyde is a singer/songwriter based out of rural Ontario, Canada. A combination of driven, soulful blues and sweet, folk- tinged, dulcet tones that carry a particular sense of familiarity provide the structure on which she creates her unique sound. With influences ranging from Patsy Cline and Lead Belly to Karen Dalton and Bobbie Gentry, this patchwork of musical significance, when stitched to her modern approach, fits like a well-tailored, corduroy-road cloth. Cat's latest album Down Rounder is a wonder of deeply felt songwriting, a record that finds her marvelling at what's around her while considering her own place within it all. Cat joined producer Tony Berg in Los Angeles famed Sound City studios to lay down the entirety of Down Rounder in six days flat. The record sounds both lively and lived-in, with Clyde's malleable singing voice spanning an appealing twang to a lovely, plaintive croon and anywhere in between espousing an essential connection between our spiritual centre and the natural world that surrounds us. The album is an exploration and expression of self, patterns in the natural and unnatural world, connecting to nature, the turning wheel of life, shedding old selves, embracing new selves, and the ever changing, expanding and contracting nature of love and life, Cat explains. After racking up millions of streams across multiple platforms with previous releases, Down Rounder sounds like the work of someone who's found themselves artistically and holistically, while extending a hand to any listener who wants to follow Clyde on her singular and thrilling path.
Ruthven

Ruthven

3 Dec 2025 - 3 Dec 2025

Ruthven aka Sean Nelson has always had a certain fervour associated with him. The South London musician first broke onto the scene in 2017 as one of the first signees to Paul Institute, the label created by enigmatic brothers A.K and Jai Paul. With a distinct mode of expression underpinned by infectious playful hooks, he quickly caught the attention of critics - Pitchfork called him “an antidote to lazy, laid-back pop music” adding that “Hypothalamus” packs “as much punch as they do dulcet melody”, while The Fader said he “creates Prince-like jams with the contours and sleekness of sports cars.”

Caoilfhionn Rose

Caoilfhionn Rose

20 May 2025 - 12 Nov 2025

Caoilfhionn Rose digs deep to find experimental new ways of expressing her wonder at nature's beauty, her love of music in all its diversity, and her belief in the restorative powers that both afford in the troubled post-covid world. Vigorous, searching and ever-curious, Caoilfhionn has found a voice at once ancient and modern, intrepidly exploring contemporary technology to transform traditional songcraft for the mid-2020s. Caoilfhionn's music is rooted in a knowledge of folk, jazz and all the twentieth century's classic tunesmiths, and seems to create a magical, otherworldly space of her own imagining, blending Caoilfhionn's core piano with synths, and pitting a live rhythm section and saxophone embellishments against ambient samples and future-facing production techniques.

Psychonaut 4

Psychonaut 4

2 Oct 2025 - 2 Oct 2025

Psychonaut 4s music and genre cannot be described with one word, because the collective sound is very diverse and rich. The main themes of the groups lyrics are the fight against depression, personal problems and tragedies. In recent releases, the group actively uses native Georgian lyrics and motifs, which made listening to the band more intense and interesting. The band's latest full album titled "...of Mourning" was released on 25th October 2024 via Immortal Frost Productions. The new release instantly had a very good reaction from the fans of the band and genre. The album is a fine mixture of DSBM, acoustic parts and even traditional folk elements, painful screams and clean vocals as well. "...of Mourning" is truly an exceptional work of art.
