Step back to the golden age of British seaside holidays as PODS brings the much-loved comedy Hi-de-Hi! to the stage. Based on the hugely popular BBC sitcom, this stage version - written especially for the original television cast by Jimmy Perry and David Croft - is rarely performed, and we are delighted to have the unique opportunity to present it at the Paget Rooms. Set in the 1950s at Maplins Holiday Camp, the story follows the colourful team of entertainers and staff as they juggle big dreams, awkward romances, and plenty of behind-the-scenes chaos. Peggy dreams of swapping her cleaner's mop for a coveted yellow coat, Yvonne and Barry dream of becoming ballroom champions, Gladys Pugh has her eye firmly on the camp manager Jeffrey Fairbrother, and Fred Quilley, best known for giving donkey rides, dreams of one day winning the Grand National. PODS return to The Paget Rooms with our 2026 festive pantomime, Robin Hood. The Sheriff of Nottingham has taken over Sherwood Forest and is finding every opportunity to steal from the poor for the benefit of the rich. How else could he afford his Jet2 Holiday? And he'll need a little extra to fund his extravagant wedding to the feisty, strong, and intelligent Maid Marian (who definitely doesn't love him back). Unbeknown to the Sheriff, our hero, Robin Hood, has returned to Sherwood on a mission to find a secret scroll containing secrets that could overturn the Sheriff's power! He needs to rally a band of brave villagers who can help him and Marian to end the injustice in Sherwood Forest for once and for all. So, join Marian, Robin, and the gang for the adventure of the year! Get ready for magical potions gone wrong, sing-a-long songs, silly panto jokes, and (of course!) an archery competition! Telling the truth isn’t always that simple. Alice, a brilliant novelist, despises the carefully constructed lies of modern society. But the more she challenges those around her, the fiercer the backlash becomes. Soon, she must confront the price of speaking her truth in a world that would rather silence her. Songs from the Shows Join Cor Community for an evening celebrating some of the greatest music from stage and screen at the beautiful Paget Rooms, Penarth. This spring Concept Players would like to invite you on a fun filled musical voyage with Cole Porter’s timeless Anything Goes. This colourful musical comedy is set upon a transatlantic liner heading from New York to England with a motley bunch of passengers and crew. Billy, a young New York stockbroker, is madly in love with the beautiful heiress Hope Harcourt. Whilst saying goodbye to his boss, the blustery Elisha J Whitney, Billy spies Hope embarking and immediately decides to stow away and win her heart. Hope, however, is due to marry the English aristocrat, the somewhat Woosterish figure, Sir Evelyn Oakleigh (after all, some of the story was written by P.G Wodehouse). Also on board are the sultry nightclub singer evangelist Reno Sweeney who brings a lot of sass to the show and Moonface Martin, a rather unsuccessful gangster (Public Enemy No.13) on the run with his moll. Surround these characters with riotous comedy, mistaken identities, love forsaken (and regained) and you are guaranteed a great night. And how could we forget the songs? Add in such classics as You’re The Top, Blow Gabriel Blow, I Get A Kick Out Of You and, the show stopper itself, Anything Goes, and you have an exciting, toe-tapping night of theatre.
