P&J Live

The newly opened, £333 million development, delivered by Aberdeen City Council in partnership with Henry Boot Developments, replaces the Aberdeen Exhibition Conference and Centre (AECC) with 48,000 square metres of multi-purpose event space, and boasts world-class conference and exhibition halls, a superior arena, spacious hospitality boxes and a high-end restaurant. P&J Live is the largest event complex in the North of Scotland, boasting world-class conference and exhibition facilities for organisers and delegates across the globe, all sustainably powered by local, renewable energy sources. The development also comprises two on site hotels including the adjoining 4-star Hilton with 200 bedrooms, the Aloft Hotel with 150 bedrooms and a third budget hotel to be confirmed with a further 150 bedrooms. With unrivalled public transport connections, the new venue is located right next to Aberdeen International Airport - the UK's most connected regional airport, a few short minutes from the city's new western peripheral route, and in prime position for the improved rail links between Aberdeen and the North of Scotland, due to be completed next year. P&J Live is the UK's single largest investment of its kind and one of many occurring across Aberdeen, as the energy city looks beyond oil and gas and continues to grow in a range of exciting new industries. Aberdeen International Airport is undergoing a £50 million expansion, while £30 million is being spent on rejuvenating the city's Art Gallery. New hotels are going up across the city and the ongoing Marischal Square Development, with its refreshing mix of offices, cafes, restaurants and hotels, adds to the city centre's vibrant and cosmopolitan appeal.

Titanic Exhibition

A major Titanic exhibition is setting sail for Aberdeen in 2026 and will give visitors a chance to get up-close and personal with the story of the RMS Titanic. On display will be a rare and internationally important collection of artefacts from the ship, including fragments of metalwork, ornate wooden carving as well as passenger and crew belongings. Alongside these will be displays that bring the Titanic to life in vivid colour, helping visitors to step back in time. The exhibition also examines the ship’s legacy and the massive cultural impact it’s had for decades. This of course includes the 1997 movie. Visitors will have the chance to see movie costumes and props usually only seen on screen!

André Rieu

There is no more natural a successor to the great Johann Strauss than André Rieu. The Dutch conductor, violinist and composer has taken many cues from the revered Austrian, dedicating his career to recreating the romance and ambiance of a classic Strauss performance, earning his position as the new Waltz King. Rieu’s charm-laden performances and chart-topping records have brought classical music firmly into the mainstream, reaching the top of the charts in Australia with 2008’s Waltzing Matilda and in the UK with 2011’s And The Waltz Goes On, featuring a composition by actor Anthony Hopkins. Over a storied career, Rieu has performed for heads of state and royalty, including Queen Elizabeth II, and shared stages with artists from Lou Bega to Trini Lopez.

James

James formed in Manchester in the early '80s and quickly earned a cult following with their jangly folk pop sound. The band was dubbed the next Smiths, even getting a thumbs up from frontman Morrissey who invited them to join The Smiths on tour. The album became their biggest success in the US.

Football club colours or politically insensitive costumes of any description are not permitted into the venue and members of the public arriving in team colours will be refused admission until they have changed. By 2006, Bridges performed his first full-length solo show at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, his first of many performances at his hometown festival. Titanic Aberdeen - Exploring the Wreck

Visiting the Titanic Exhibition in Aberdeen but want to learn even more? We're offering this special lecture series with experienced diver Dik Barton, who has been to the Titanic's wreck 22 times. Who better to give an insight on the world's most famous shipwreck than a man who's been there himself! During the lecture you'll explore the scientific marvels of deep sea exploration, understand the current state of the Titanic's wreck and listen to exciting anecdotes and tales from Dik's own experience. Plus the Q&A portion will give you a chance to ask any burning questions you've always wanted answered about the Titanic's wreck! Lecture entry costs 20.
