The List

Pavilion Theatre

Rhyl's Pavilion Theatre is the third building of that name on the site. The first one was built in 1891 and burned down just ten years later; the second lasted from 1908 to 1974 before also being destroyed by fire. The current building was opened in 1991 and presents a mixture of local companies and touring shows. The Pavilion benefited from a major refurbishment which was completed in January 2018. It provided refurbishment of the theatre, re-modelling of its entrances, more car parking and a restaurant, called 1891 which refers to the original opening date of the theatre. Rhyl station, on the North Wales Coast Line, is 14 minutes away on foot and the theatre is served by the 1, 11, 11F, 11G, 11M, 35 and 38 bus routes.
